I like how everyone else I watch is like, "Ahhh poor kelvin. Can't hear." Gopher and shay proceeds to throw multiple logs at him and use him as a slave immediately.
I've been watching the stream VODs because I couldn't wait, so just gonna add some quick advice here that hopefully Gopher sees. 1. Clothing, there are stats you can see when you hover over them in inventory, wet resistance, warmth, etc, useful to see whats best for snow. 2. The raft. At present you can't make your own raft, but the one you found floating has a very useful item on it. You have to swim out fully armoured and with meds and beat the sharks to it, grab what you need and swim back. With full armour it should be easy. 3. You never did this in The Forest, so be aware of it, you can craft very powerful healing and stamina recipes by mixing things like aloe and comfrey. 4. The stun baton stuns enemies, less good at killing them, but you could stun one and then stab it with an axe. 5. You can Build a bridge to the island, but you need to use the lookout tower at one end as it can be placed in water. 6. The mask, if its like the red paint, they have to only see you with it held to your face and not be ones you have fought before. Fresh spawns. 7. Bigie. Chay is often too quiet to hear, especially when the game gets loud, its like his mike dips as the game sounds increase.
It's great that you're doing this together again and I hope you'll still be at it for the next few updates, there are a TONS of bugs and missing content right now but it's still a lot of fun 🙃
I think a "Whirling Dervish" is a synonym for a spinning top. Anything that resembles the chaotic spinning movement can be referred to as a whirling dervish.
I hope the builds are epic like in the last game. A complete highway system around the island would be cool, hopefully it wont crash the game like last time.
I'm so happy! I love this game, and how great of a duo you are! I feared you were going to just leave Kelvin to freeze in the snow. *The duo cackles about dropping a tree on the man who's helping them.* For anyone who's definitely a lady in a swimsuit, I'd advise against murdling her.
18:30 - note to myself; never cam with Gopher!😂But I have to admit that this NPC have great plot armor ; surviving wood log being thrown at your head is very impressive!😄
Oh I've been waiting for this series. Won't lie, small part of me is debating on playing it myself but I lack any sort of creative spark to make full use of the game.
I like the new building however there's many problems including no corner roof and the biggest everything is basically lock in grid where the old forest gave more freedom in building off grid.
One other group I'm watching: "Whoa, I'm Asian! Whoa, I'm Black, Whoa!" (everyone got race swapped and the girls got gender swapped). Gopher: "Whoa! You're an old dude!" So many surprises in the character generation in this game, lol.
The game's good, but if you're going to have one single line of dialogue in your whole game, either enable subtitles for it, or don't put a filter on the guy's voice that makes him sound like he has five potatoes in his mouth while trying to speak to you. We ESLs will thank you kindly. I have no idea what the flying flock of ducks the pilot's saying in that cutscene. "Fffhnmggfgggn fflllrrrfn grrrrffffn!" Anyhow, there's at least three "crash zones" and they seem to be random. The helicopter can either crash where it did for you, on a tree near the coast, or on the water near the beach. The whole "person slaps you with a pistol because why not" part is always the same, though. 20:30 The game's area looks awesome, until you explore and see... If you're looking for trees, you'll find plenty. If you're looking for POIs, well, get ready to walk a lot. And since there' s no full map, bring your sense of direction with you when you go exploring. SotF is a great game, but the map is big for the sake of size. That can make exploration annoying and time-wasting.
I've always wondered why games don't have like a test room or something that you can load into before you start the game, just to get all the keybinds, and the audio and video settings configured properly. Especially for games that throw you into the thick of it right away.
That's a feature not a bug. It's a survival game. The game puts you in a situation and you have to survive. The only think holding Goph back is the weird one-handed keyboard he uses which messes with "normal" keybindings and (and I hate to say this because I like the guy) his inability to notice popup notifications and environmental signals about what's going on.
@@archstanton9073 Survive the situation, not the interface. "Normal" is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone should start out on a level playing field. Why should you get a leg up on me because I'm left handed and can't use the standard wasd binds? And it's not like anyone who plays with non-standard binds is actually going to have to survive it (excepting blind streamers like Gopher). They'll start a game, spend some time getting all the settings right, slowly dying all the while, then they'll restart. But that kinda ruins the first impression doesn't it? I can't be wowed by the realistic snow effects or whatever, because I'm too busy figuring out how to walk.
@@kuro_neko5863 Well, I mean, Gopher if this is the first time he's playing the game before going live on a stream without practicing the basics first and setting up his keybinds in a solo game there is on him. I get the whole "blind playthrough" thing but if you're going to do that, you're setting yourself up for frustration when you know you need to rebind keys, don't grasp key systems right away (especially if you're not paying attention to what the game is trying to tell you) and whatnot.
@@archstanton9073 *" The only think holding Goph back is the weird one-handed keyboard he uses which messes with "normal" keybindings"* - ooh that was ugly. Please don't do that. I love the game and really like what the developers have done in the sequel, but don't be an apologist for them. There's no such thing as 'normal' keybindings unless you think the planet is filled with only right handed people who have a QWERTY keyboard (or you think those are the only people that matter). But there is such a thing as failing to implement a fairly simplistic and expected feature on the platform you are building for. And key rebinding is such a feature. And it would not matter if I used a QWERTY keyboard either. I'd still expect to rebind keys to my comfort and the idea that holds me back is akin to thinking someone using a 4k monitor is holding them back when a developers screws up the UI at that resolution. No, that's on the developers. If you develop for PC, the onus is on you to provide the expected features a PC game should have. *" his inability to notice popup notifications and environmental signals about what's going on."* - Oh I admit that when let's playing or streaming I've conditioned myself to ignore popups and UI elements for obvious reasons, but since when did I have an inability to notice environmental signals? :)
Yeah, no, Kelvin is 100% deaf. That much blood from the ears is indicative of ruptured eardrums. He may also be concussed, but I doubt he's permanently brain damaged. If he were he wouldn't be able to follow instructions that well.
Are we going to spend a year watching them build a fort and hunt for bunnies followed by 6 months of planting flags because "Dude, we're British"? Good times.
Wait, what about the goats? What about the previous Forest with the slide and the skull lamp that's still incomplete? What about the round the world trip in Minecraft with Chay? You built a bridge there too. What's happening? Are you my mummy?
i found the building system really off.. it seems more for VR . but thats just my opinion.. fun though . but really irritating it slows down building i think.
And we're back...
Oh I miss that so bad !
Even in other situations, I hear those words in Gopher's voice.
Cannot stop laughing at Gopher and Chay telling Kelvin to follow, and both of them silently watching as he happily strides away from them.
I went back and watched the original Forest letsplay - its a warm adventure of Gopher and his Son making rafts dance.
I like how everyone else I watch is like, "Ahhh poor kelvin. Can't hear."
Gopher and shay proceeds to throw multiple logs at him and use him as a slave immediately.
Seven seconds in and Gopher's already shushing Chay, this is gonna be awesome!

I just swam to it without anything and nothing happened, only got my sack ripped off by a shark once but made it easily.
"We should stay up all night "
"Why am i so tired" 😅😅
AHA! The duo are back, arguing in a forest once again. So many happy memories. This game is amazing.
So glad the duo came back for this one, definitely going to playthrough with my friends, just gotta pray they release it on console with crossplay
Once again my ears will be graced by the bickering of husband and husband
It's great that you're doing this together again and I hope you'll still be at it for the next few updates, there are a TONS of bugs and missing content right now but it's still a lot of fun 🙃
I have long been awaiting these words to be spoken. Gopher introduced me to Chay through the forest series I can't wait!
I think a "Whirling Dervish" is a synonym for a spinning top. Anything that resembles the chaotic spinning movement can be referred to as a whirling dervish.
Hell yeah! remember asking chay on twitter - if you guys would dive into this one when it finally dropped and here we are, awesomestuff!

You'll love the update today: they just added hotkeys, sorely needed.
Unfortunately this Is part of a live
I know, but I'm writing to gopher now, not in the past. I've been watching them live as well, just didnt catch the start.
Nice!
This game is really cathartic. It's really nice.
Oh I've been waiting for this series. Won't lie, small part of me is debating on playing it myself but I lack any sort of creative spark to make full use of the game.
Oh My Gord!! I have been waiting so long for this!!!!! The Church of Chopher is back!!
I like the new building however there's many problems including no corner roof and the biggest everything is basically lock in grid where the old forest gave more freedom in building off grid.
They're back
That's a nice looking forest... Sure be a shame if someone... CUT IT ALL DOWN!
I just love these two! 😂
Food takes a few seconds to cook now, which means DistractedMan and Goldfish Boy will be eating burnt food forever...
such good stuff keep up the good work
Take a shot every time Gopher says "Dude"
Are you trying to kill people via alcohol poisoning?
On Chays stream there was a "dude-counter" and no spoilers, but that drinking game would give you toxic blood alcohol levels fast ;)
I've been looking forward to this
oh its good to be back
They're back!
I missed the first part of the stream. LOL @quarico. Buying bits to say go pink or go home lol
I like how I get a commercial from some guy trying to teach me how to be a survivalist on this video.
YES. so excited for this!!!!
How did you guys not see the other figure, probably a tribal, walking up near the trees from 36:19?!!
I just finished this on normal last night, gonna wait till the next update to start a custom hard mode game, fight demons!
Man, those guys with helmets and tactical gear were way more fragile than two guys in tracksuits.
Adidas tracksuits, they must be Serbian hit men.
Huzzah! Most excellent!
Already watched but have a like and comment
dam i still have not finished watching any of there forest playthroughs and now the sequel is here lol
I love this video so much
Two guys laughing about the colored lights as a 3rd survivor rolls around in pain and confusion. Classic.
Morning has brooookeen!
7:05 Chay pronounces "inventory" like a Yank, which I am, BTW, so not being critical, just being a spergy observer.
Covered in snow but not snowing.
What will they build, and how long to build it?
One other group I'm watching: "Whoa, I'm Asian! Whoa, I'm Black, Whoa!" (everyone got race swapped and the girls got gender swapped).
Gopher: "Whoa! You're an old dude!" So many surprises in the character generation in this game, lol.
So, how long does it take them to look at the guide book
Missed this
Oh yes!

Skyrim coop series dead?
40+ minutes of waiting for them to use the book to answer all their building questions and it doesn’t happen😢
Seriously the fish is white when raw, brown when done, and black when burnt... have you never cooked in a game before?
