I'm not sure if Donovan actually reads these, but I just want you to know you still touch the heart's and influence young people like me to this day, we love you.
Yeah me too, I love to listen to the Sunshine Superman album, Mellow Yellow, Troubadour, Barabagagal, your documentary dvd, etc. And I love this song very much too! I hope you, Linda and family are doing fine, and I wish you a all a great 2024!
My mother has Schizophrenia. Her fav musician at 14 was Donovan. Her Name is Lorelei!! Yes I feel the Shaman trip. Hard to explain but this is like the best song I ever heard in my Life!! I showed it to Mom and she really liked it
I met Donovan (when I worked at the performing arts center in Tampa) & I agree 100%. He's the kind of friendly guy u have a beer with. He played "what the soul desires" at my request and dedicated it me 🤯 "the girl upstairs running the lights whose second name is laleña" my middle name was already on the set list. By far one of the nicest celebrities ive met & I've worked with quite a few over the years
My father who passed away a couple of years ago always enjoyed listening to your music and he was who I got to know you through. You might be surprised if I say we are from Iran.
You can meet quality people all over the Globe, no matter where they are born or live. You just need to love people at first please because we're all the same as human beings!
Same here. My dad enjoyed Donovan's music so much that he named his first child after him. I still listen to his music and try to hear what my dad might have heard.
I Had no idea that he was even still alive to be honest. I clicked the video to see what he's been up to and it turns out he is working with David Lynch!!! His voice sounds great. I like it.
Actually more meditative than psychedelic. At least for me. Kinda wish this had the balls to be 20 minutes. Repetition gets you places. No drugs needed.
It's so good to see Donovan still bring his talent to the world. And this David Lynch guy who directed this, that man seems to have talent. I can imagine this kid going places!
David Lynch is very well known as the master of weirdness. Best known for Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive and many other movies I'm forgetting. He also sings and performs very weird songs on his own albums.
I love you, Donovan and David Lynch. What a treat. I was in grade during Donovan's hey day and often revisit that sunny day in the early morning of the 60's. The sun was shining. The day was beginning and my bicycle was waiting. I sat on the door step looking at the beautiful day and listening to Wear Your Love Like Heaven on the AM radio that was plugged in on top of the refrigerator.
Donovan, today is my 55th birthday, and finding this video made it a happy one! Thank you for a lifetime of great music. My mom has been a fan since she was a teenager.
Sounds like the guitar is played backwards during the chorus, the trippy "shaman" bit, either recorded forward then played back in reverse or maybe by using an effect to essentially produce the same sound in real time.
He started out very Dylanesque but quickly became his own man with an original sound and several great songs in the 60's. I saw him open for YES in Largo, MD, in 1977. I like this and it is nice to see him collaborate with David Lynch.
I saw Brother Sun, Sister Moon in a little church in rural Vermont when I was 17 years old. I have been in love with your music ever since, you changed the course of my life. I love you Donovan!!!
This is so brilliant. I love his playing and voice - still so seductive after all these decades. Immediately, I loved it - this music must be in my English blood come down from my Scottish friend. It’s so weird too and I love it! It’s pure magic.
I met Donovan (when I worked at the performing arts center in Tampa). He's the kind of friendly guy u have a beer with. From "Catch the Wind" at the beginning of the 60's and full circle here with us today. God bless you Donovan. Thank you for staying true to yourself. Whether or not its your cup of tea, Donovan is to be treasured.
Trippy guitar strumming. This is pretty cool. I was a little kid in the 60's, and clearly remember on my mom's car radio: "Superman and Green Lantern ain't got a-nothin' on me- I can make like a turtle and dive for your pearls in the sea, yeah..." Now, I'm in my SIXTIES, and this guy is still here, creating. Amazing...
Of all the music acts from the same time in the 60's that have come and gone, it's great to see that Donavan is still doing what he does best. Keeping the spirit of the 60's alive today and still remaining relevant is something that much of today's music acts have yet to achieve with their careers.
Hello, Donovan. I didn't appreciate this song until I heard it a second time. I remembered that you are a poet and that I should listen to the words especially. So now I appreciate and like the song. Good song. I'm glad you are still creating. Long may you do so. All the best.
My best friend named his son after you. I found you in the early eighties. It was like a second generation finding your messages. Now what a surprise to see you still are a shaman! Wünderbah!!
Such an awesome song ! Have always loved this song by Donovan. He's such a great ham too. You can tell he's really having fun with the video, playing the part of the sage, wise, yet a bit creepy Shaman. Donovan is the epitome of cool. Great songwriter, one of my favorites !
With the life a sentient human like Donavan has Lived, I can believe he is a Shaman. Wish he were President :) Remember, he taught guitar techniques to John and Paul.
R.I.P. maestro David Lynch
I'm not sure if Donovan actually reads these, but I just want you to know you still touch the heart's and influence young people like me to this day, we love you.
Agreed!!!!
Well said!!❤❤
Yeah me too, I love to listen to the Sunshine Superman album, Mellow Yellow, Troubadour, Barabagagal, your documentary dvd, etc. And I love this song very much too! I hope you, Linda and family are doing fine, and I wish you a all a great 2024!
Thank you
He Always Has. I’ve Been A Fan For Fifty Years!!
I'll just leave this comment here so that when someone likes or reacts to this comment I'll be reminded of this MASTERPIECE!

I met Donovan in a bar I worked in over 40 years ago. Stood up and had a beer and a brief conversation. One of the nicest "celebrities" I ever met.

Same here. My dad enjoyed Donovan's music so much that he named his first child after him. I still listen to his music and try to hear what my dad might have heard.
Why surprised?
Those days it was called Persia which had no probs with the West.
Sorry for your loss
Grtz from Holland.
Watching on repeat-hard to believe that this exists. Thank you Donovan and David Lynch for decades of pure creativity.
So well done Donovan and David, grateful to see and hear this❤

Donovan🎵🎸
I Had no idea that he was even still alive to be honest. I clicked the video to see what he's been up to and it turns out he is working with David Lynch!!! His voice sounds great. I like it.
still psychedelic after all these years
fuck yeah. i need to watch us when i chow down that eighth of shrooms staring at me from my desk
Actually more meditative than psychedelic. At least for me. Kinda wish this had the balls to be 20 minutes. Repetition gets you places. No drugs needed.
Thank you...just the right words and music for today❤
It's so good to see Donovan still bring his talent to the world. And this David Lynch guy who directed this, that man seems to have talent. I can imagine this kid going places!
*LET’S ROCK!*

Saw Donovan in the 80's. His voice hasn't changed. Very pleasing.

Named my son Donovan....glad I did. Thanks for all the beautiful music.
Wow cool name! ❤
Beautiful right hand.
What a great combination! Donovan and David Lynch....Life is a dream!
Donavan/Lynch ok I can see a bright future for both of them to work together. Both masters in their own right and far above the average persons head.
Hey Donovan love your music. You are the Hurdy Gurdy man You are Sunshine Superman. You are Mellow Yellow.you wear your love like Heaven
Donovan and David Lynch are a perfect match. Brilliant!
I loved this first ever listen.
Donovan, today is my 55th birthday, and finding this video made it a happy one! Thank you for a lifetime of great music. My mom has been a fan since she was a teenager.
Brilliant!
The way he strums is so enchanting I can’t take my eyes off his fingers for a second. That has to come from decades of playing.
yeah, as a keen player i watched it too, apparently taught John Lennon to finger pick, i think im correct and im sure i will be corrected if not.
Sounds like the guitar is played backwards during the chorus, the trippy "shaman" bit, either recorded forward then played back in reverse or maybe by using an effect to essentially produce the same sound in real time.
@@manofthewest67correct, at maharishis place in India. Lennon used the technique on the white album

WOW! Just talking about Donovan and some of his old songs and then here he is today with new music! Awesome!
Donovan has been doing it since the 60s and is STILL putting out music that is far more interesting than most new “artists”.
Trippy guitar strumming. This is pretty cool. I was a little kid in the 60's, and clearly remember on my mom's car radio: "Superman and Green Lantern ain't got a-nothin' on me-

My favorite singer one love.
Thank you Universe for Don, Kelly, Dave,& Linda ❤❤❤❤
Been listening to Donavan since 1968.
Coat looks awesome and warm
Mesmerizing and beautiful!❤
The voice of aging stars have so much character. Reminds a lot of Bowie's Blackstar and the Johnny Cash American recordings.
This is fantastic! Donovan looks and sounds great with the direction of David Lynch. This is a wonderful complement to The Season of the Witch.
It's good to see an old friend undulating once again.💗💗💗
