The frosting is due to the temperature and distance in my experience. Might be too close + the temperature. I've wanted to use WW2 vehicles before, but they're too recognizable for me, though that Czech/German tank looks different enough with your amazing weathering techniques, as well as it being the comic style where it's taller and the hull is shorter.
I made the assumption/hoped it was my fault! Getting carried away varnishing early morning in the cold 😂 standard WW2 vehicles can be too obvious at times, I’ve used ww1 tanks for my deathguard as when you nurgle them up it fits and these toon tanks are great for orks.
Let's hope it's user error, and your next sprays are frost-free. I've only had one bad can, but that was primer and it caused a really textured finish regardless of what I did to resolve it. I've switched to airbrushed primer and varnish as they seem to make it impossible for me to mess up, other than clogging the airbrush which is a never-ending issue! 😅
It's slower than the spray can, but you waste less paint and it costs a lot less overall. Cleaning the airbrush after using such a thick paint is annoying though, it took me a few months to get a hang of it.
