MedCom is a publicly funded, non-profit organisation financed and owned by the Ministry of the Interior and Health, Danish Regions and Local Government Denmark.
MedCom develops, tests and certifies and helps implementing digital standards that enable systems to exchange relevant healthcare data across sectors.
MedCom is coordinator for the xShare project together with HL7 Europe
and participates in the project because it is an opportunity to get closer to the upcoming regulation from the EU Commission on a European Health Data Space.
The goal is to enable sharing of health data between member states and increase citizens’ digital access to - and control of - their own health data.
