  • This autumn, Eliot Smith Dance (ESD) will premiere three new dance works within an inventive, physical, all-male Virtual Triple Bill.
Jake Vincent, the extremely talented New York City based choreographer and dancer, will present Onward, a short solo that explores the idea of taking unusual or less-travelled paths, set to Haydn's Cello Concerto.
Eliot Smith, the artistic director of ESD, takes his inspiration from the Greek mythological story of Helen of Troy. With a cast of four male dancers, TroY is an adaptation and modernisation of the legend of Troy. Set to original music by award-winning composer Adam Johnson, and with costumes designed by Andrew Gregson, the work explores Smith's current investigation into identity, sex and gender using the re-imagining of the ancient story.
Mark Baldwin OBE, the recipient of the 2018 De Velois Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance and more recently Artistic Director of Rambert, has created a solo, exploring his ongoing research on how to combine dance with the music of Handel's Messiah.
Catch this Virtual Triple Bill on Thursday 03 December 2020 at 8pm (GMT) eliotsmithdance.com/tickets
