I'm currently making my way through this and watching with the CGI effects. Am up to The Web and also watched the Sally Knevette interview which was great, she had some unexpectedly entertaining stories to tell pre B7! Highly recommend!
Awesome network, awesome show, "Duel" is an all-time great and is based on a 40s short story that many in sci-fi would make its own in many ways. Looking forward to your review!
@@the_flyattractor8656 “well the flyattractor just passed away according to the paper, go ahead and announce the release date for the US version of season 25.” -The BBC probably
I watched Blakes 7 when it first came out & have watched it a couple of times since and have always loved it. This box set is worthy of the show, particularly the updated effects. Has anyone any idea when or if the other seasons will be released.
B7 averaged 9 million viewers per episode back in the day, and that’s just the overnight numbers as their were no streaming services, DVD or even video players back then. Those are the kinds of numbers todays shows can only dream of.
@@AnotherScifiGuy Yes, but there's far less work to be done on Blake's 7. All the master tapes still exist, so there's little restoration to be done, just upgrading the picture. All the extant BBC paperwork is on the Series 1 set already out, and there's very little new VAM to be done. One series 'Making of' rather than individual stories, for example. All they need to do here is the new effects, grab what little archive material there is, and knock out a few new interviews (And judging by Matthew Sweet's attire on the interviews with Sally and Mike, they may all have been filmed already. These two at least were filmed on the same day). Job done.
@@ACtheLegend Sure they do. But they had two separate teams working on 435 shots (For Blake's 7). They were comissioned around September 2023, worked on Blake's 7 Series 1 AND Doctor Who Season 25 at the same time, and they had to finish Who by March 2024, and Blake by May. On top of that, Season 25 had the greatest amount of new effects shots on any Who box set so far. With most Doctor Who sets creating new effects for only one story, yeah, two Doctor Who and two Blake's 7 sets are definitely doable. And these guys...they know what they're doing.

It's hit number 1 in the uk charts, so the rest of the series are looking certain. 'They've done brilliant job!' As Blake would say lol.
I've never watched Blakes7 before but Doctor Who fans talking about and recommending it makes me more tempted
@@X08-Chill I’m liking it so far, a lot of classic who people also worked on Blake’s 7
Duel is my favourite episode,it borrows a bit from Fredeick Brown's short story Arena, as did Star Trek Arena.

I wish it were 7 discs (B7 ha ha) and shove more extras on the 7th one, but i must say that there's no compression artifacting to whine about. 😂
Awesome! Tempted to get this...which is up for Pre-Order this December....now if they could just get out the US Season 25....AAAAAAHHHH!!!
@@the_flyattractor8656 do they have a release date for the US sesson 25 yet?
@@AnotherScifiGuy Yes. The Day After My Death!

@@peterr1001 I suspect one series a year. As long as sales are good.
They were seeing how sales went, but it beat Marvel in the UK charts so I think the rest will be coming.

One? I'm hoping the go the Doctor Who route and put out 2 per year.
@@ancientonezero just one I think as they are also still working on Doctor who sets.

@@ancientonezero hehe, I admire the faith that that's "all" there is to do, but those optional effects shots take time, especially a series' worth 😊
