Words can't convey just how amazing the work you're all doing is. The original product was incredible enough, but your improvements and continued refinements keep breaking new boundaries. Thank you for sharing.
I can tell you from experience they're all a bunch of autists that screech at everything Titanic that was made before 1985 when everyone thought the ship sank in one piece and everything since that doesn't match the break-up theory of the week.
I've seen the opposite in nearly every comment section on any video having to do with the Titanic, but *this* part of the community seems extremely pleasant. The only rude people I've seen in the community are in the comment sections of low quality animation videos and they basically say "you're an idiot, this isn't what happened" only much harsher lol
Spack Entertainment There are a number of controversial topics in Titanic lore that if brought up in a discussion thread, the friendliness evaporates faster than a snowman in the Sahara

What you guys are doing with this project is truly a masterpiece. This is how to remember those 1'496 people that lost their lives 106 years ago. This is how history should be narrated to the future generations. Thanks for this guys, a really huge and enormous thanks for the work you are doing. (1'496 is the number of souls lost in that night, source: National Geographic)
I know right! Some people. My friend went in bookmark back in 97 and said to a girl at the checkout (who stated she was going to see TITANIC) that it was a shame that she had to sink and the store clerk said " Oh why did you tell me that you've just ruined it" pmsl
I've never seriously considered purchasing a VR headset, but I *will not* miss out on the chance to experience this game in VR. Of course, I'm also still waiting for someone to FINALLY build a real-life holodeck... Enjoy this anniversary night, guys! You're all amazing, and thank you for all your hard work!
This year Titanic's survivors hero RMS Carpathia will be 100 years since she was sunk i think we should talk a little bit about her. She was a small ship compared to the Titanic but the courage of everyone onboard her was Gigantic. I think she deserves some attention aswell. :(
The look of pure...disappointment on his face when he mentions how people were asking "how did you get the footage when there were no cameras back then" was pure gold.
I was hoping I could see snippets or clips of the updated real time time like the collision and final plunge. I hope that game will be released soon but take your time with it. Have a good 106th Titanic anniversary everyone. Gonna start watching that real time sinking again plus the commentary to go with it.
Right, though I wish it could be like full clip. For one example, the moment when the iceberg was spotted, then the collision. In any case, I'm looking forward to the game and further developments. I'm curious if you don't mind me asking: why wouldn't you have James Cameron as an assisting consultant or something? He seems to be a Titanic enthusiast himself. Or maybe he's busy?
I'm sure your team probably know this but if not, I'm going to mention it regardless. Im trying to pass this along in hopes someone sees this. On UA-cam I have seen a video called "making Titanic's clock", and at the 8:25 mark of the video he made a discovery about the sphere under honours foot. He believes it was more than a simple sphere. He believes it was a globe and judging by his description of the atlas lines, marks, & archive photos, he might be right. Check it out, and get it modeled in the game if true :) Love all the hard work all of you on the team do on the exterior and interior every day. This Titanic day, we remember the most beautiful ship and It's story. She may have lasted a few days, but her legacy lives on eternally.
106th Anniversary of Titanic sinking today, R.I.P. To the people that went down with that ship that fateful night. A fitting tribute to those who lost their lives that night, keeping their memories alive. I'm glad that y'all did this project.
This is awesome!! I can't WAIT for you guys to finally be done with the game! I've been a Titanic buff since i was a kid and to see this and how accurate you guys are with this and how true you guys want to stay to it just makes me happy! Thank you guys!!!:)
Thanks for all the amazing effort you guys are putting into this game. This has literally been my dream ever since I became a Titaniac at age 4, that someone would make a game where you could explore every room of the ship in all of its glory and experience its sinking in real time, and the amount of time and care you guys are devoting to this project is stupendous.
That is so interesting, the way they were designing the ship and how it sank. I mean I know games take a long time to make but these guys went ham on developing this, so cool!
I remember people talking about it in my office when it went viral, it must feel crazy to create a video like this that goes international in such a way
The updated clips look absolutely breathtaking, and I'm so excited to experience the final, finished product! Your entire team is utterly amazing, keep up the phenomenal work!
For a rush job, it was pretty impressive. The new example footage really want me to see a fully updated real time video. They look much closer to eye witnesses testimonies.
I’m so excited for this game. It’s literally my top number one game I’m most looking forward to. For me, Titanic Honor and Glory will be up there with my number one favourite game Portal 2. In fact it already is, when i played the third demo. And OMG the narration of the man you play as, the music, the detail on the ship herself and the land around her is just awesome. Titanic H&G will make history. Keep it up guys and may the force be with you.
I'm honestly amazed the Unreal engine can handle that huge of a model with so much detail in it, moving AS A WHOLE along with NPCs and players (along with their physics) walking around on it.. if it really can do that well props to Unreal. Of course props to THAG team too.
You guys are doing an awesome work, the game is definitely having lot of progress! I have one question though, will we be able to see some of the interiors of the ship from the exterior, through windows of the Boat Deck for example? I think it would add to the immersion.
Yes you get to see the whole ship from the inside in the game, there are various clips on UA-cam that show the interior of the ship,I'll find them for you
Yes I know for the interiors, but I was asking if we would actually get to see the interiors from the exterior of the ship, through windows and portholes for example :)
That's what I was thinking then.. though they could just use some low details for the interiors, it would still do the trick. If you look at Cameron's movie, you can see some details of the interiors through windows during the sinking, such as curtains, furnitures... I really think it adds some realism and makes the ship comes to life. For now it just seems to be a simple yellow/white texture behind the windows and portholes.
I somehow get the feeling that paul-lee didn't realize that your first animation was thrown together in 8 days he quite honesty angers me, on the postivte side, i love how you are having the lights fade out slow like that it makes total sense the steam powered generators would slowly wind down like that during the break up
hey man thank you so much for doing all the work here. I have been obsessed with Titanic sine 1989 when I got my first book! the rendition of what you have created is amazing!
My biggest wishes for this game are: a) a chance to spend lots of time on Titanic before the sinking, explore the ship in a pristine condition. b) spoken dialogue. Lots and lots of spoken dialogue, hours and hours and hours of it. Created by the community as voice actors. It would be just so cool to be able to walk around the ship, meeting lots and lots of different people, and be able to engage them in conversation. (With the conversation changing according to what class of passenger you are, of course.) Or just as interesting, just stand nearby and just experience the buzz of conversation as they talk to each other. I mean, what's the First Class Dining Saloon without dozens of first class passengers chatting to each other about issues of the day, or their families and friends? With the band playing lovely music in the background, and no-one paying a blind bit of notice! (lol) One of my favourite games is Knights of the Old Republic (2004). I really enjoyed that game, because of the huge amount of spoken dialogue in it. You could wander around each level and talk to anyone (apart from people who wanted to kill you, that is!) And that was a very early open-world game, the non-player characters didn't talk much to each other. At the end of it all, the story of Titanic is far more about the people on board than it is about the ship. That's why people still like going on cruise liners to this day, to meet and talk to people, not just eat, drink and snooze on deck. So it would be so uplifting to be able to talk to dozens, or even hundreds(!) of people, when they are all happy and enjoying themselves. It would make the sinking experience so much more poignant if you actually felt you KNEW many of the people on board. Some of them, the ones with more lengthy dialogue and the ones with sparkling personality, would really matter to you as characters in the story, not just as a list of names on a casualty list in the game credits.
YES!!! Fr.Thomas Byles!!!! I am a Roman Catholic Benedictine monk and I have loved the Titanic since I was 6 or 7 years old. About 4 or 5 years ago I head of Fr. Thomas Byles and his cause for sainthood is up, and he has already performed a miracle for me personally, he is WONDERFUL!!! Fr. Thomas Byles, PRAY FOR US!!!
It was rushed, but still looks absolutely fantastic. Everyone working on this project has done a magnificent job- Thank you! Edit: And of course, seeing what you've added/changed is also a real treat, it's somehow even better! Great work. :)
Amazing Job guys.. Love your hard work.. You guys deserve huge rewards. I keep myself updated with your vids regularly. I just imagine the horror of freezing night sinking of titanic and it gives me me chills. Keep it up.
Are you going to end up doing realistic flooding when the ship is sinking? I mean like, will the water spill over railings and obstacles? Or will it still glitch through walls and bulkheads like it does in the real time animation?
that pause after 'people asking how we filmed it when there weren't colored cameras back then.' kills me. it's a legit 'looks into the camera like he's on The Office' moment.
9:14 I see you guys using that stand-in lifeboat model, putting Lifeboat No. 7 in Lifeboat No. 10's position. My first hint was noticing that the boat shown had Liverpool written on the outboard side!
What a fascinating insight, thank you for sharing. Would love to see a "making of" video, but I understand you guys have other priorities first. One question you didn't answer though - how DID you film this when there were no colour cameras back then? /s
The actual mechanics of the breakup is what fascinates me. The broken out mid-section of hull plate that landed far from the forward and aft sections of the ship on the ocean floor had a curious anomaly. The keel plate of the forward edge of mid hull section was pulled curled upward. You can see where plate at stretched and torn. To me as the ship was tearing apart water pressure was also causing a collapse of the structure surrounding the engine room. That room where the reciprocating engines are housed look to be the largest open area of the ship and therefor the most vulnerable to structural failure. So as the ship was being pulled down with so much pressure on the bulkheads and hull the failure was in more than one area at once, not a clean break like in the Titanic movie. This makes me wonder at what point did the aft section pivot from the mid section as the hull tore apart. Perhaps as the break began to happen the aft section began floating up tearing the mid bottom hull plate away from the upper hull breaking the forward cylinders off from the rest of the engines while at the same time spilling the boilers ahead of the bulkhead ahead of the engine room. I believe the mid hull did not pull the after section down then detach. My theory is the forward hull broke away and the aft section began sinking quickly since a massive open area was now open to the ocean. With that said there was no dramatic pause with the stern sitting vertical with the props high out of the water. These are just a series of theories based on years of engineering experience.
most of the 'messy ness' was caused by the for fo water and implsotions as the stern went under and switched from going ino broken end first to rudder first on the way down
Also, the originally video blew me away, i watched it in real time, live, and id bet my pinky toes everyone complaining couldnt animate a stick figure 😂 I still think the original video is utterly amazing so the updated, more detailed one much be absolutely phenomenal! Yall should be so proud of your work, yall have accomplished something that will go down im history. You're literally making history.... making history... lol badass job guys!
I don't know how often these comments are read by the developers (I imagine there are many), but I have a suggestion that I think would benefit the longevity and advertising of the game. Giving the players a free-range camera to create their own narratives and stories. It doesn't have to record videos, but rather providing tools to the player to play around with different camera angles, flybys, etc. I know production/development is tight at the moment, so maybe this could be an after release feature? If you want something to compare this feature to, think of the camera system that is provided in GTA 5.
I'm still waiting on my thank you page entry and cabin space for my lady, kid, and I. I gave $50, forever ago, (still not included in it yet) and am super stoked for the release!
I’m pretty curious if the new animation shots we saw in this video will be shown in the Anniversary podcast tonight. It would be totally awesome to see the ship at different angles this time with the ship updated to what was teased as well.
I’d probably put you guys and with Titanic Animations (even his real time, which I saw some of) for the most informative and his historically accurate recreation of the sinking.
I heard that the break up was a lot different from what the animation shows because of recent discoveries like the two peices of the bottom where the ship actually spilt because they had a clean split down them same for the lower parts of the ship while the upper decks of the ship are completely mangled. This means the break up is different in the animation compared to real life and in the movie released in the 90s.
I have a very good question for Titanic Honor and Glory. I have heard some of the old recordings of survivor accounts of the sinking. I heard many people say, The front of the ship came out of the water after the breakup. ( Almost like a V but at a wider angle) Is there any explanation of why this happened or why the reports said this happened because in every depiction I never see it and it's weird because it seems so unreal because of how I've always known how it's been depicted. Could the team of Titanic Honor and Glory or historians explain this to me of how this would work? Thanks you very much! I appreciate everything you guys do for the project!
That famous drawing was not made by a survivor, but by a crewman on the Carpathia who made it after talking to Jack Thayer (a survivor). It was drawn afterwards, not during talking to Thayer. Other than that, i dont think there are many sources who claim the front f the ship would come back up, which would be physically impossible since it was full of water (which is why it went below the surface in the first place).
I had heard theories suggesting that the rising debris such as the staircase when it was lifted out of place and surfaced could have looked as though parts of the bow were rising. Not sure how well this holds up but it's an idea.
Sylvain Joly possibly true who knows it would make sense but the staircase just collapsed when it hit the bottom I think so it probably didn't rise up but possibly other debris caused it yes
So excited for this to come out. I watched the real time video when it first came out and I think what I enjoyed was the quiet, with just the noise of the ship in the water. 'm glad it didn't end up voiced over. I don't suppose you are any closer to an estimated release?
Words can't convey just how amazing the work you're all doing is. The original product was incredible enough, but your improvements and continued refinements keep breaking new boundaries. Thank you for sharing.
Not only did the Titanic change maritime law, but also UA-cam's refund policiy? Who would have thought...
Mikosch2 versatility of ships.
Holy shit lmao 🤣
You thought this out
Well, fuck youtube.
In my opinion the Titanic Community is the most friendly and awesome community I've ever seen. Completely NO hate :)
Who knew that the community of an event that killed 1500 sentient human beings was going to be so friendly?
I can tell you from experience they're all a bunch of autists that screech at everything Titanic that was made before 1985 when everyone thought the ship sank in one piece and everything since that doesn't match the break-up theory of the week.
Never heard anyone screech at pre 85 content.
Does that happen on encilopedia Titanica? i dont go there often

Wasnt it 1506 ppl?
I'll have a look and in the case I'm wrong, which is possible, I'll modify my comment. Thanks for the comment
Mazzei Matteo
1514 is the correct number
Thanks
I've heard 1513 and 1507 and 1520 I think the truth is they don't know exactly more an approximation of around 1500 people
Your face when you mention the colour video people 😂😂😂
"... asking about how we filmed it when there weren't colored cameras at the time." HAHAHAHAHAHA it was rendered.
I know right! Some people. My friend went in bookmark back in 97 and said to a girl at the checkout (who stated she was going to see TITANIC) that it was a shame that she had to sink and the store clerk said " Oh why did you tell me that you've just ruined it" pmsl
That empty, thousand yard stare he has while saying that. lol
It was filmed
When he said this ... and the look on his face - really made me laugh!! Hilarious!!
Who ever filmed that should have gotten in trouble for not putting people on his boat. ;

Titanic will sink tonight :(
💔106 years💔

the poor baby..
Her heart will go on 😁
No it sank on the 15th
i must say i truly appreciate your level of commitment to making this as accurate as possible
7:42 my favorite thing to see people on the deck make this more realistic
Eric Hernandez so when are we gonna get the video?

It would be awesome if you guys made a real-time sinking of the Lusitania. Just something to keep in mind :)
Milaud Talebi I heard them say on the Titanic Channel they are working on a Lusitania real time or will be
They don't work at your discretion
It'd be a short video she went down in 12 minutes, imagine being onboard that when she sank there must have been loads trapped inside
would only be 18 min or something though XD
There is something like that here on youtube already.

Titanic: Honor And Glory hi, will the game be available on PS4 when it's finally released?
gagalover2k10
...and in VR (PS VR)? That would be "AWSOME"!!!
Greetings from Germany
No idea how there can be a game within Titanic but the VR walkthrough demos are unbelievable. I might buy a vr headset just for this.

I am SOOO excited to see this in its entirety! Love watching these update videos! Can’t wait for this game!

yes
Where was the other hint?

Very interesting seeing a better re-done version of the animation. Keep up the great work! I can't wait.

Bloooody hell, has it been 2 years already?!
You are going to get in history!
Not surprised to hear you're from Philly! I knew I heard a bit of that mid Atlantic dialect in there
Cant wait guys
I remember doing this but speeding it up, which u took down, all my videos when I was young gone because of youuuuu!!!!
Can't wait till it comes out, It's going to be truly amazing and what you guys are doing is just fantastic. Each time I get paid I'm going contribute
Are you going to update the damage that is caused by the break up? Just at the moment it looks too clean and rigid.
Thanks for the response, I am looking forward to whatever you guys bring for the final game as already it looks incredible.
most of the 'messy ness' was caused by the for fo water and implsotions as the stern went under and switched from going ino broken end first to rudder first on the way down
It's officially been 106 years since Titanic struck the iceberg.
It's incredible how even a century later, the impact of the disaster still lingers.
I've had time to get over it.
Damn this is AMAZING
You guys have done a fantastic job!
I cant wait! You guys are awesome :)
💔 106 years 💔
I don't know how often these comments are read by the developers (I imagine there are many), but I have a suggestion that I think would benefit the longevity and advertising of the game.
Whoop! The list will be more accurate! I know that was something Encyclopedia Titanica noted was starting a little early
If u rushed it can u please make another one. The first one was very amazing, it gave me alot of information.
Check it out, and get it modeled in the game if true :)
Love all the hard work all of you on the team do on the exterior and interior every day. She may have lasted a few days, but her legacy lives on eternally.
Yeah, we might know Alan and his work :) Thanks though!
I'm still waiting on my thank you page entry and cabin space for my lady, kid, and I. I gave $50, forever ago, (still not included in it yet) and am super stoked for the release!
This looks amazing
I’m pretty curious if the new animation shots we saw in this video will be shown in the Anniversary podcast tonight. It would be totally awesome to see the ship at different angles this time with the ship updated to what was teased as well.
Im really looking forward to this
HAPPY 106TH ANNIVERSARY TITANIC!
Tonight, you release the 1997 sinking of Titanic real time with movie clips from the 1997 Blockbuster.
The water is much better already, damm!
I’d probably put you guys and with Titanic Animations (even his real time, which I saw some of) for the most informative and his historically accurate recreation of the sinking.
Nice to see brendan fraser keeping busy
This will be the reason I get a vr headset. I absolutely can not wait until the game is fully released
How did you film it when there were no colours cameras back then?
It's a recreation of what happend.
@@cloveraev Hahah it’s a joke, im not that stupid
@@anasbtr Oh, lol-
I heard that the break up was a lot different from what the animation shows because of recent discoveries like the two peices of the bottom where the ship actually spilt because they had a clean split down them same for the lower parts of the ship while the upper decks of the ship are completely mangled.
I agree, even real drawings made by survivoronboard Cartaphia noticed that.
chavez12367 Yea it's very weird. It may be unexplainable because we can't go back and physically see it.
Keep up the great work. Cant wait!
Love what you guys are doing.
Very interesting to see how that video was made.
wow your really into the titanic. lol... awesome to have something to like so much.
So excited for this to come out. I watched the real time video when it first came out and I think what I enjoyed was the quiet, with just the noise of the ship in the water. 'm glad it didn't end up voiced over. I don't suppose you are any closer to an estimated release?
Oh my gosh this will be intense! =O
Im a big fan of your work, keep it up looks amazing from what I've seen, I shall go contribute too!
CAUTION: NICOLAS CAGE???? haha. Amazing job, Im following everything you guys are doing!
I plan on rewatching the sinking in real time tonight! Unless you guys are live streaming?
