Watching Roland when I was a kid & now I’m in my 40’s, I still really enjoy his commentary and enthusiasm for fishing. So much to learn from Roland 👍🏻🙏🏻
Roland is always a step ahead of us. I was initially confused by rolands statement but do you know how us clever humans determine if a gator is male or female?
Charles Robertson Agreed man these new you tubers don’t have the experience or the passion for the sport as the old guys did and still do like Roland here.
@@taylormarcel5074 though I think they shouldn't have such crazy videos, saying that they don't have the same passion is ignorant and messed up. As for not having the same experience, well no shit Sherlock, they're young people, not their fault they were born after these old dudes.
I used to watch Roland Martin on ESPN Outdoors years ago. Just about every time a catch a fish now, I say SON!!! Thanks for posting, just clicked subscribed.
He'd always say " Oh son, monster black bass" Lol. I only wish he would cover his arms and his face from the sun. I know he wants to be recognized in the video but the skin cancer is always a concern. Great video though 😎
Been watching you for 41yrs now! Started with my dad and finishing it with my kiddos! Thx for the many years of enjoyment and all I’ve learnt watching you and Dance on the water! #TightLines
Nothing better than watching Roland and Jimmy play off each other. My 2 favorite fishing pro's. My "dad" was essentially worthless so I learned about fishing from these guys and I'm eternally grateful ! My sons finally figured out that fishing is fun and cool, so now I can pass what I know to them. I'm diggin' it ! Thx Roland !
Man I've been watching you fish since i was like 8. I'm now 36, and your still my favorite fisherman Roland. I've learned lot's from watching you! Thanks for all the years of entertainment, and knowledge. I'm a pretty good Bass fisherman thanks to your show, and watching you!
Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
What is most impressive to me is Rolands Casts . Every single one is precision .. not one single one lands in the weeds or Cattails .. he gets real close to shore but never ever misses . Very impressive .. many decades of experience obviously.
Roland!! Sir you Bill Dance, and Bob White were fishing gods when I was growing up..its so good to see you doing what you do best!! Thank you for the years of info and envy!
Been reading his stuff since the 70’s. Great to see he still has that joy in catching fish like I remember from all those decades ago. “Ooh son, come out with your fins up.” That was classic Roland Martin.
I grew up watching you on Saturday morning and I found Scott and now your channels. Thank you for all the years of education and fun! And thanks for giving us Scott too lol! He is a hoot! Cheers from KS!
Mr. Martin, I must say that your influence on me back in the early 80’s has had a lasting affect. You encouraged myself and a friend to start bass fishing the canals and ponds west of town in northern Palm Beach County. At that time, I’d be hard pressed to tell a bass from a bluegill, but I learned fast. Using the barest of equipment and lures, simple plastic worms typically, we eventually made our way out to Lake O, where the big bass play. After watching this video, we certainly learned how big gators can change ones perspective of the hole you’re fishing, especially when the gator seems, or most likely is, bigger than your 10’ aluminum John Boat, though I’ve come to understand their behaviors much more since then. My friend Dennis soon became a business owner and his time is dedicated as such to this day, so unfortunately he has little time for what we enjoyed so carefree in our youth. As for myself, and my time is also somewhat limited, I have since taken my fishing explorations, though somewhat limited, into the saltwater realm as well. Offshore, near shore, inshore and fresh water are all fair game. My favorite target species of the salt water variety however, is Snook. And I will attribute that to you. The extreme similarities when casting for the smaller Snook in the mangroves and that of fishing for bass has brought me full circle. I sincerely thank you for that. I am so happy that I found your UA-cam channel. Thank you Mr. Martin, Bobby
I used to watch him in the 80s when I was a teen. Thank you, sir, for the joy, passion and knowledge you shared with so many. It is certainly appreciated.
I love the look away and reaction after the strike, great bend in the rod!! I have always loved watching you, Bill, and Jimmy....I have learned so much from all of you throughout my life!!!
I have watched you for years, way easier now with social media, but I love how excited you still get, that’s why I love fishing, I go every chance I can. I also love watching the 3 legends working together. Roland you have one more subscriber can’t wait to see what’s next.
I am so glad that you, Jimmy, Bill and Scott have UA-cam channels. I don't watch T.V and now I get to see all you guys again. One thing UA-cam allows you guys to do is be real, and I love that.
Roland, I still love the Jim Strader's Diamond Eye you endorsed about 40 years ago. I have fished the whopper plopper but haven't gotten a fish yet. I actually found both of mine hung up in grass on the bank. People forget about the prop baits.I encourage more people to try prop-type topwater baits. My friend and I fished two days in a row in the 80's while on fall break and his Dad took us out on the third day and caught a 5-3/4 lb largemouth within his first two casts on first brush pile on a point on that Diamond Eye and razzed us all day about fishing two days and not getting a single fish and he got one in first 5 mins on water. Thanks for the video & God Bless You
A big Thanks to Roland,Imet him 35 years ago or so at a tournament on Lake Mead(my home lake)and he told me know the water temp and adjust accordingly.I have caught fish ever since.Love you Mr. MAARTIN.

Roland: I caught my PB using a Whopper Plopper on a Florida pond. 22" and estimated at 6.5 #s. Since I'm from WI that fish was amazing. Caught many others as well. Love the bait, love your videos. Thank you so much for taking us along. Keep your videos coming. We are blessed by your kindness!
I've enjoyed your show since I was just a kid. Glad to see you still in action! I picked up a couple Whopper Ploppers for an upcoming trip to Alaska. I'm hoping Pike will like them as well.
I've caught a few gars and catfish on mine. They tore up my hooks though. I just replace the hooks and it's as good as new. I've caught about 250 bass every year for the past few years on mine.
Great video, Roland. I just got my first Whopper Plopper 75. Gotta see for myself what all the hype is about. Love your channel and your resort in Clewiston. Great video Mr. Martin; so glad an honored to receive your information. Thank you! You are certainly always cool and calm with those alligators, I would have trouble reaching into the water to land a bass after being stalked by a gator..and fishing from my belly boat (inner-tube) would be totally out of the question!😂 Not a problem here in central Texas but some in other areas and the coast. Thanks again. Fish On!🎣
I too iam Baltimore too a course in ecology studied the eco system of the Chesapeake Bay learned a lot about how fish responds to different things with you for years good stiff thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Rolands been a real hero of mine since I was a kid. What a phenomenal fisherman and perhaps an even better teacher. If you apply 25% of his techniques to your fishing game you will see a major improvement!
Grew up watching you with my Pops just like a lot of people here did and I love seeing you get into UA-cam and posting these awesome videos! Keep it up Sir!
Great videos Mr Martin, been a fan for a long time. Just told my 14 year old son to subscribe and learn from a great teacher. Keep the instructional videos coming!!!
My Father told me when I was a kid, that most fishing lures were designed to caught the fisherman, more than the fish. That was more than fifty years ago. The Arbogast Jitter Bug, and the Heddon Crazy Crawler, will do the same thing. It is a top water gurgle bait in a new wrapper. But hey, I am going to buy me one too, because you can not have enough lures.
Oh wow im glad you mentioned the Heddon crazy crawler, I recently just bought an old tacklebox at an estate sale filled with weird looking vintage lures and couldnt figure out what they were. After googling the crazy crawler it turns out thats what some of them are! Theres all sorts of cool stuff in it from the 60s/70s including an old firstaid kit
I love topwater plugs... I own multiple Heddon torpedoes (even the magnum), multiple jitterbugs, spooks, hula poppers, savage gear ducks, and multiple rat lures. The Whopper Plopper is far superior to all. The topwater rats are the only exception. If it's late spring/summer time and I need a quick bite. I'm pulling out a Whopper Plopper 110/130 in the bone color.
@@dcarroll4294 The Whopper Plopper has always treated me well. I think my favorite though is a little balsa wood Heddon torpedo I found in a tree at an old power plant by the lake, Ive climbed into the water many times to retrieve that thing from snags LOL. Doesnt have much original paint left but it still does the job.
Hey, Roland! Never used the 75 Whopper Plopper. Just started using the 90 in I know it color. My buddy used the T 1000 color. Fished in the rain tearing them Bass up for over 4 hrs. Topwater is AWESOME. The Whopper Plopper is a great bait were the Senko was and still is number one. Shawn
I happened on to you channel cant believe your still pluggin , glad to see you are, best tip i ever got from you years ago was haven a second rod ready on small mouth schools to throw in the bait before landing the first at the boat for following fish caught me many fish Thank you Roland Martian
I watched Roland and all the greats as a kid, though I'm not a big bass fisherman (catfisherman here) I loved (and still do) his enthusiasm for fishing.
ZARA SPOOK is still my best top water for big bass. Your TV shows got me into Fishing Tournaments I remember talking to you and Larry Nixon in Guntersville very large Prize tournament. Great Bassmasters days I live on Lake Wheeler in Decatur Alabama. Often said the toughest lake to fish. The water levels are never stable due to tubines running. We do not have any Milfoil let, the powers that be poisoned it. The Hay day is over but big Smallies abound.
Roland Roland... l caught my PB this year on a WP. I pretty much never solid retrieve a WP. I retrieve then stop and may work it like a devils horse or popper. Blessings to you
My dad used to watch you on TV when he was a teenager, now I'm a teenager and I'm watching you on UA-cam, that's so cool.
Fisherman Seth same dude 😂

Old Roland Martin...he used to appear on ESPN late at night , used to stay up late just to watch him
Ok zoomer

He has caught thousands of bass all over the world and still gets excited like a kid when he catches one. Amazing!
Best part is hearing you say "staphococcus" six times in a row. Great content too! I wish I can become a veteran fisherman like you when I'm older!

@@geyotepilkington2892 Oh wow, that's a treasure!
Shawn

Roland Martin. I remember watching you when I was a kid. Still at the Quality stuff
love the channel Roland u are a legend!
Original Bass angler and personality Roland Martin. My favorites to watch along with Bill Dance. Great video on the WP!
Glad to see you old cats still fishing. You and my dad used to fish against each other way back when.
Always learn something new when watching!
I watched Roland and all the greats as a kid, though I'm not a big bass fisherman (catfisherman here) I loved (and still do) his enthusiasm for fishing.
I'm planning on a trip to a BPS tomorrow and I'm putting the 75 on my shopping list. Thanks for the video!
This gentleman looks like really enjoy fishing!! I love to watch him fishing :)
Wow I had no idea you had a youtube page! Loved watching you when I was younger!
One of my old favorites top water plugs is a black jointed musky Jitterbug. Good video Roland. Thinks for the tips,
My new favorite UA-cam channel. Very informative sir!
Great to see you still at it. Been following you since I was a kid.
Roland Roland... l caught my PB this year on a WP. I pretty much never solid retrieve a WP. I retrieve then stop and may work it like a devils horse or popper. Blessings to you
Thanks Roland, I could watch all day!
