Some audio issues this episode, not sure what happened looks like the gain got auto-boosted somehow. Oh well, you get what you pay for 😉😆

Seems to me that this is a unique amp that demands patience to restore its glory.

Modern resistors, especially carbon film, might only be rated for 400 volts or less, and so in a power supply it might be smart to uprate the replacement resistors to a higher wattage/larger size.

Those big blue .25 molded caps look like Aerovox, which I've never seen used as stock caps in a Fender ---- unless they ran out of caps while trying to fill an order and sent somebody up the street to the local electronics parts store to buy something that was close enough to work (as Fender was known to do on occasion).

Probably originally .25 astrons there. I swear I've seen these blue caps in fenders before, but I don't remember the details. Either way, I'm suspecting they need to be swapped.

@@YeatzeeGuitar , Astrons are usually yellow, IIRC; and they're unreliable. These blue .25's seem to big for the eyelet board which makes me question their originality..... but Fender was constantly changing parts vendors and filling in from local parts-supply houses as needed.

@@goodun2974 Yeah no I'm saying I think these blue caps were replacements for what would have probably been astrons originally. I think ALL of the coupling caps in the amp were replaced, the leads are so short it screams ebay parts bin buys made to work.

I told you that you’d learn color codes fast.
Are you really waiting a week for parts from AES? I get my orders in like 2 days and I’m not that much further from you. I can believe it because of the way USPS works with hubs and what not.

I'm not sure about "fast" but we're getting there! It typically takes 5 business days for me.
