    Prefect voice for this role.

Delightful personality! I was thrilled to be at her first Ariadne last year. There were no words to describe how awesome she was. Hoping she sings Isolde eventually.

Kind of "expected" her natural spoken voice to be somewhat lower (didn't have to be like Régine Crespin's either). Love this singer's voice & singing lots! Will never forget her R. Strauss's "Morgen" with Esa-Pekka Salonen.

It's nice to hear a bigger voice in this role - she sounds great!

Listening to her talk would never give you a hint of her fantastic singing voice.

The finest Wagner and Strauss soprano we have today!

Says a lot about our situation...

No it doesn't, since Sieglinde and Elisabeth is a different Fach than Brünnhilde or Isolde. Lise Davidsen is as perfect as can be for the former roles as well as in any Strauss Partie except Elektra, but what we lack is a great singer in the high dramatic Fach.

@@christianstark2381 I´m aware of her Fach. But for me - who is coined by the "german school" of singing ( Lemnitz, Lehmann ect. ) in the lighter Wagner/Strauss roles - she can by no means be described as perfect.

@@christianstark2381 Davidsen is what the Italians call a lirico-spinto soprano, ideal for middle-period Verdi, most of Strauss operas (Chrysothemis, Ariadne, Marschallin, Kaiserin, etc.), and lighter Wagner roles (Senta, Elisabeth, Sieglinde,...even Isolde in studio like Margaret Price for Bernstein) -- in general, roles that have a lot of long soaring high notes and not a lot of coloratura. I am seeing her Jenufa in Chicago in November and Forza at the Met in March. Can't wait!
Being a fan of Rossini's serious operas I wish she had the coloratura chops to tackle the big Colbran roles like Armida, Semiramide and Elena (Donna del Lago). One can't have everything!

@@papagen00 I agree with you. But talking about the mentioned Strauss roles: you need a very distinguished phrasing, and a very differentiated expression. Something I (personal opinion) don´t hear in the singing of Davidsen.
