I was wondering which scooter you were using, I did a trip and my scooter is big and bulky, not worthy of my flight so I elected not to take it...the battery is big and heavy and the scooter doesn't break down like the one you are seen with, so I definitely need to get a different scooter cause when I travel my scooter gets left behind then I really have to plan how to get around at destination
I appreciate your videos...gives me insight
Hello, check out the description. I provided the link to both scooters used in the video. It is the Pride Mobility Go-Go Carbon, and the Golden Technologies Buzzaround Carry-On both are very reliable scooters and top notch quality. Thanks for your comment and support.
I have bought 3 scooters from scooter direct and ALL the service was great
Thank you for your business! We really appreciate it!
@@guywantsbi I wish i could afford to my serval mobility scooters . 🙏🏻🙋🏻♂️
Some of those reasons are why I do only low level flyinhg. I have the tickets to prove it! Thanks for all you do and God Bless!
Thanks for commenting. I hope you found the video helpful!
Thanks for sharing. One of the main reasons I don't travel is due to not being able to walk far (stroke). This video has given me a little hope. 🥰
You can do it. Yes you can!
Thank you for this very informative video, it was very helpful.
You are very welcome ken! Thanks for commenting and showing your support.
You don’t always have to go to the ticket counter to get check your device. You can do that at the gate as well.
Can never be to safe in this crazy world 😢
You're right. The world has gone mad!
Purchased a EV Rider and a Solax Transformer. The latter for airplane travel. Had an older EV Rider that was damaged on a flight. Reported it to the baggage claim desk and was given a brand new replacement within a week. I'm a disabled Vietnam veteran with nerve damage (agent orange). The Transformer is great for airplane travel because it automatic folds; no need to disassemble any parts. It folds like into the size of a suitcase...nothing protruding outward. My wife helps by just securing a bungee cord around it to keep the seat back up and prevent damage in the cargo pit. A great scooter for air travel. I recommend all disabled veterans to check it out with Mobility Direct! Thank you MD...a great video for those disabled who wants to travel on airplanes.
Thank you for your awesome comment. We really appreciate it. The Solax transformer is a good scooter, but I just find that when traveling with it, it gets damage quite easily. It's our number one repaired scooter. Most of the time, it's because of airline damage.
Thank you for speaking slower, makes it easier to understand. Do they allow Apple Air Tags or a tracking devices be attached to the scooter?
You're very welcome. Yes you can put tracking device attached to the scooter.
I noticed that you were using the Pride Carbon Fiber scooter at the beginning of the video but then you were filmed using the Golden Buzzaround scooter once you got to security and for the rest of the video. Was there some sort of issue with the Pride Carbon Fiber scooter? I ask because my husband is strongly considering purchasing the Carbon Fiber scooter. And he will absolutely be using it on airlines. Thank you.
Hello. There was nothing wrong with either scooter. We just have so much footage we use the best shots. Not to mention, we like to show love to both of our best partners, Pride Mobility and Golden Technologies. Both of these scooters Go Go Carbon and the Buzzaround Carry-On are exceptional products. -Drew
I bought a pride mobility zero turn-8 last year from mobility direct I really love the scooter. I don’t think there’s another scooter that fits me better but I would like to know if anybody thinks there is a better one for traveling on an airplane because I am used to traveling on an airplane with my scooter and I had an issue the other day where the ramp agent left my scooter at the bottom of the gate I waited 30 minutes for them to bring it up and the ramp agent decided not to bring it up. My flight landed at 5:40 in the afternoon and I was waiting at oversize luggage until about 7:10 PM and still no scooter.
Unfortunately, sometimes things aren't going to go your way and it kind of has to be expected. The pride ZT8 is a great option for travel, but it's not the lightest.
Beautiful terrazzo floors at the airport!
Yes they sure are absolutely beautiful.
They have taken pride in keeping them clean.
I would also recommend take a photo of your equipment at the gate so if there are any damages to your equipment, you can start a claim and get it fixed as soon as possible estimate who flies once a month in a wheelchair and scooter
That's great advice. Thanks again.
This video has really explained what to expect at an airport. Another video that I'd like to see is one that explained this for trains, please.
I just did this video last week using the same scooter on the Tri-Rail. I got you covered! ua-cam.com/video/uhzSkKlnKNo/v-deo.html
My husband is always telling me to put the arms down on the chair! Great video!
Keep those arms down and stay safe! THANKS FOR WATCHING!
Thanks for the tips on how to travel with a mobility scooter… it is very informative
You are welcome. We are glad you liked it!
What about the Charger? can that stay with he scooter or has to be carry on with the battery?
There are no restrictions on the charger. Keeping it on the scooter or in your bags is fine. Thanks for commenting!
which would be less of a hassle, scooter or foldable power wheel chair?
Its personal preference, but i like the power wheelchair because navigating close quarter navigation. I like the scooter becuase I can hold more. If I was solo I would use a folding mobility scooter, but with a helper I would use a folding power wheelchair.
Thank you for putting this video on UA-cam.
You are most certainly welcome. It's our pleasure!
Hey Drew. I have a power wheelchair and plan on taking it to Spain. My wife and I thought about just wrapping it securely up in an extra-large duffle, and using airport assistance to get the wheelchair through baggage check. Will that work? Thanks for your support to the community. Great videos, btw!
I would do it the way I did. Your scooter will be held separately from the luggage. Doing it my way won't cost you a dime. If you put it in a bag and check it you're going to pay and then some for the oversize luggage. Best of luck and thanks for commenting!
@@MobilityDirect Just to be clear, I have a HEAVY (82 lbs.) power WHEELCHAIR. My thoughts are: packing it up and running it through baggage check, it'll be less likely to be mis-handled or broken. Furthermore, aren't disabled people allowed 2 free disability-related items to be checked-in?
i love your videos keep up the great work
Thanks for your awesome comment and your support! -Drew
Just listen to all the background chatter.. still amazed st the hostile conduct of tsa agents...disappointing.. i think only because you were film. They act super professional ..
I’ve been trying to get a scooter for over a year now. My son treated me to a trip to Danville Florida but the airline canceled the trip due to bad weather so we drove down. I rented a scooter once we arrived at the air bnb. I loved it. I have balance issues also and will keep trying to obtain one. Wish me luck. Good tutorial, thank you.
Best of luck to you and thank you for your support!
Oops in my comments I said Danville I meant Davenport lol
I would suggest everybody read the air carrier act from the department of transportation to know their rights when flying with a wheelchair scooter or any other medical device
100% You can find this under the DOJ link I provided in the description. Thanks for commenting.
@@MobilityDirect the reason why I say that because they have a certain amount of time to bring your chair to the door. You do not have to get off the aircraft until your chair is at the door .. most people don’t know your equipment is last on and first of for a reason.
Hi I going to fly soon
You can do it!
Thank you for this video, Andrew! I was looking for this! Love it!
You're very welcome. I am glad you found the video useful! I also did it on a bus and train. Thanks for commenting and thanks for your support. Here's the train video ua-cam.com/video/uhzSkKlnKNo/v-deo.html
@@MobilityDirect Thank you! Gonna watch it!
Very helpful. I usually get a wheelchair thru the airport and surf furniture to get to my seat.
You are too funny! Thanks for the comment. Have an awesome day!
@@MobilityDirect That's what I call it. A rollator is too wide, so seats and cabin bins keep one upright. In a storm, any port will do.
Great video have a great day
Thank you as always Peggy. Have a great evening!
we are going to south korea to singapore then to the Philippine, Im 69 yeas old woman, have knee replacemen last December I need to ride a electic scooter, what the good scooter for me, i want folding, and lighter, what you can suggest for me. Thanks
After watching your very informative video, I am now very confident with the procedures required in using a mobility device when going through an airport. Keep up the great work!
thanks for the Info you guys are awesome. 👍👍👍
You're welcome! Our pleasure!
@@MobilityDirect thanks friend.
Thank you for the information about how to do airport instructions
how did you get that black eye ? 🤨
I am a boxer! I got punched in my eye during a rough sparring match!

Thanks for your patience and time in doing this video. Very informative and now I have somewhat of an idea of what to expect! Happy traveling.....
You are welcome. We do it because it helps many people like yourself. Have a great weekend!
Going to Vegas will be my first time traveling/flying with my mobility scooter. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly
You can do this! Yes you can! Enjoy your trip!
This was very informative. Thank you so much. Maybe I will get brave enough to fly on my own in my chair. 😊
Thanks for the feedback. I am glad you found this video informative. You can do this! Yes you can!
Thank you for this informative video! I have a ComfyGo MS 3000 36V/15.6Ah 250W Folding Mobility Scooter with up to 25+ miles (15.6Ah Battery). I wanted to know if this scooter would be okay to travel on an airplane with.
Yes that scooter will work, but only with the small 10ah battery. Volts x Amps = watt hours. Thanks for commenting!
@@MobilityDirect Thank you! I'm not going to be able to use the one I have. It has the longer range 15.6ah battery.
Did they find anything suspicious in there???!
I wonder if the TSA really has any trained explosive experts capable of actually, you know, identifying any explosive devices? 🤔🤔🥸🧐😵
Haha. TSA actually did an exceptional job handling me. Believe me when I tell you. I am not the easiest person to deal within the public eye. Especially when it comes to mobility matters. I take this stuff very seriously. Thanks for your comment and support!
