She was being considered for the role of Mother Superior in The Sound of Music but passed away and so Peggy Wood appeared in the role. So sad. M.G.M.’s top make-up artist commented that many of the studio’s “beauties” looked quite pallid first thing in the morning but Jeanette looked beautiful even without a stitch of make-up.She was truly a class act ; it would have been a dream to meet her.
