It’s even better in person!Thank you!!!!
Ah, the 1970s, when American cars were styled with the following tools: A ruler. :)
Amazing work! At that larger scale, the details really jump--it looks like a real car. (Even the panel gaps around the doors, because, y'know, Chrysler in the '70s. ;)
That would be the late 1970s to maybe mid 1980s. And really only a few companies were so bad and only a few models.
I think James will think it's worth the wait. Masterful work Rob. I love the green, I'd call it Kelly green. The interior looked maroon to me, and really works well with the overall look.
Once again, from overpainted turd to AMAZING treasure, LOVE that paint job!!!! AMAZING details!
Oh my! New favorite as I catch up watching all your older videos. Sooooo perfect!
Very Nice Job Rob hope it is Enjoyed by guy who commissioned your Expertise
Rob you done it again my son what a great job love the colour well done fella
What an episode! We learned about Slimer’s wee-wee AND cracks in the rear end. I consider that a bonus on this vid. All kidding aside, great effort on this piece. What a really cool casting....the lines on this car were so iconic for the 70’s. That paint job is class, Rob.
To answer your query about US people collecting plates: I don't really collect other people's plates, but I enjoy keeping the plates from my own cars/bikes when I sell them as mementos to each one. Nice work on the commission :)
Nice work! It looks much better now! Retired Taxi Cab turned into a nice family owned car.
Hi Rob, another epic video on this Plymouth Grand Fury, being a taxi before, the paint has completely changed the look, cool colour coordination,
Nice one Rob. A truly fantastic job with a great outcome. The best 'Candy colour' job I have seen. As good as anything you have done..
Georgia resident here! Beautiful work!
Thank you again for another great custom/restoration plus attempt. I always appreciate your efforts, techniques you share and inspiration you provide.
Exquisite, that paint, white roof and chosen colour of interior has created a magnificent example of this car, superb.
Nice job Rob! I had the smaller version when I was a kid. It was a police car. I took off the lights filled it in and then painted it an detailed it like you did. I put a vinyl roof on mine.
WOW!!! It's actually half the size of the real car! 😄😄😄 You could just crawl inside of it and paint the interior, then take a nap in the trunk. I just can't figure out why I didn't have any of these, but then again, I pretty much destroyed every toy I ever owned. I took playing very, very seriously. Good restoration, it looks sweet! 👍
Sir,
Thank you for taking the time to making and
Posting this video
Awesome work
😇👍🏼
I enjoyed watching this video.
Beautiful work! A great solution to remove paint from plastics and even window pieces, is putting them in Dettol antiseptic liquid. It contains Chloroxylenol, which is not only a powerful disinfectant, but also a paint stripper. You can use it on most plastics and the paint will come right off without damaging them.
Fantastic job Rob. What an awesome amount of care taken / something to be truly proud of!
Nice work rob you brought that back to the 1970s how it should look fantastic job
Wow Rob, this customization is flawless. It’s truly amazing. Good job. 👍
That is a lovely kind of green metal you mixed together there! Am a big fan of green metallic paints, and this one is just lovely - not too yellow, not too blue.
and a nice contrast with the white roof too.
Rob she came out absolutely gorgeous. Your details are phenomenal. I collect not only license plates but the car dealers plates used by some that show off and advertise the dealership. I had hundreds of them until my divorce and my ex in law's destroyed most of them. Now I have around 30 plates...
Outstanding! Love working on the super king sized vehicles, and the color and details really pop on this one. And its “flangii”. Lol
Thanks Keith
Beautiful restoration - that green is awesome! Nice one.
Excellent work rob, all that time spent painting paid of .
I always watch your vids with a cuppa after my shift. Amazing work as always!
Very beautiful car, that colour is awesome and really like that white roof and small details.
There's lots of work in this car because its size.
Awesome job! James should be very happy with this restoration job. It came out looking wonderful!
Beautiful work. I always loved the Matchbox police cars of the same make of car. Be good to see restoring of those someday
It really turned out nice. Great job on the two tone paint. Awesome transformation 👍👍😊
Very nice custom! The new two tone color looks beautiful, as do the detailing of the head and rearlights, and the turnindicators. Fine result. The owner will be very proud of it.
Wow! Absolutely fantastic job, mate! Beauty Gran Fury!
Amazing! Absolutely AMAZING! Great job! Thank you for sharing! All the best!
Beautiful casting! Great job on the paint! Love the green candy too!
Brilliant resto rob and loving the colour scheme I'm sure the guy who commissioned you will love it 👏
We do!
I moved from Essex to USA, 24 years ago and I still get a kick out the license plates from different states. Got them hanging all over my chicken and duck shed. Motorcycle ones are really small and cool too
Car looks fantastic! Beautiful work.
Beautiful restoration/custom! It's always enjoyable to see something crusty and grubby be transformed to crisp and shiny.
I remember these Plymouth gran furys as squad cars..great restoration👍👍👍😊😊😊
Well done Rob. You really nailed that one and have shown off what you can do,
Very nice transformation and the finish is 5 star great detailing and looks set for another few years ...
Pretty cool. Still amazing to me how calming your videos are.
I ALWAYS look forward to your videos, I've learned a lot of cool things through your techniques and attention to detail!
I occasionally build models and your info comes in handy!
Beautiful. You did it again. Love the color. Keep it up.
Stunning work Rob! Certainly nicer than any real Gran Fury that I've ever seen. 😄😄
And if you ever need someone to vouch for the amazing quality of your commission work, I'll be glad to do it!
Thanks Mike 😊
Absolutely beautiful! Attention to detail was on point! I collect Mopar and realized I don't have any Grand Fury! Thanks for sharing!!
This legend is still hearting comments half a year after he posted the video
Oh WOW!!!! Fantastic job!!!! That car is beautiful!!!! 👍👍👍👍
Woow friend, that green color is wonderful. Great restoration, greetings from Uruguay 😉🚘💙.
What a difference! Awesome result.
Really good paintjob !
What a great build, a jewel on wheels. Really like the two tone paint, would like to see more of this on the cars when possible.
Another great job Rob 😁 I'm enjoying the candy paint, keep up the great work and as always "Howdy from Texas 😁"!!!
Top job brother, looks great. They are a lot of work ah lol. Some of the ones I have done had like over a dozen parts, its a similar process as the small ones but so much more work.
Thanks Danny 😎
I just read that in your voice. 🤣🤣
Excellent resto on this fury great job
What a nice custom job hope Jamie enjoy is new roundaround 👍
My reaction when I saw that candy green in your air brush was Oooh. Gorgeous colour Rob and works well with the white roof. Looks like it's come of a show like Cagney & Lacey in the 80's.
Love the color ! Thanks for sharing.
Great finish and detailing! I tend not to like the larger Matchbox models, but they do provide more room for details. Awesome job!
Boy this car came out fantastic Rob!!! Can't say anything bad about this one, James will love it, it's a heck of a shiny beast!😎🏆
he's the Master James does love it!

That's a really nice toy. Good job on the restoration. Color looks really nice.
I have that same model and I painted red with the hood white similar as yours Nice work.
Such a nice metallic finish on that Rob.
_"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas."_

Don't toss that crackilated window unit, just cut out the back door windows and use on another model - depicting a summer night's cruise down the Miracle Mile...
I bet they got S.C.M.O.D.S.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
"Hit it!"
"Hey jake...jake... I gotta pull over"
"Hi! Wanna hand me that mic? Thanks a lot..."
"Hi, this is car uhm... what number are we?"
''five... five...''
"This is car fifty-five... uh, we're in a truck!"
Gimme candy! Looks great Rob!
Nice restoration! paint is awesome!
Super amazing color, a literal jewel! Well done in the roof as well, this one's about to reach 1000 liked, and rightfully so
Great Job for a fellow Georgia boy!!
Impressive job, looks really good.
Looks amazing, your best one yet!
That’s a really nice metallic green. I’m sure James will love what did to the model.
Love watching your videos most of these cars I have at home should really start to restore them too
Subbed for the Pops Resale sticker in background. Been in there many times! It’s cool to see that in a vid from the UK! Enjoy your work btw
Scott sent me some stickers recently and I have them everywhere. (Unboxing coming soon)
That turned out looking amazing, man. The paint job is great
Candy skills starting to look Dope!!!
Man what and awesome turnaround of junk car, to show car, wicked love it and the green is perfect cheers KC Tasmania Australia
Unreal!
Green Like everyones Eye's Wanting It.
Great Stuff MG.
From a old beater to a beautiful luxury classic piece! Grand Fury's were also used as police cars too!
That was one of your best sir, beautiful!!
That is perfect for a 1970s car , that green really suits it Rob , you could imagine this on a 1970s cop show like Kojak, or Starsky & Hutch, great job 👍
Excellent custom Plymouth Gran Fury 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Stunning finish Rob. Well done
That turned out awesome!!! I remember the old Furys being painted up as NY State Police cars. Dont see any these days
What an amazing job! Well Done! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That Gran Fury looks good again good Job 👍 I Got a Superkings Grand fury too for a while now i got it from ebay it was very cheap because i have to restore it is in a used condition not bad but used and some Parts are missing like the hood from the Trunk.,After your Video now i will do a Custom Version too thank you for that 👍😊
They are cool. I still have my old dark blue and yellow “You Have A Friend In Pennsylvania license plate.
this Plymouth is pretty. great job on it
Absolutely beautiful, you did it again sir
Great resto, your attention to detail and workmanship show. A great paint job 👍( not sure I'd have done it green but that's just my preferences ) you may have been asked to paint it green and as I said you knocked the paint job out of the park👍
Lovely Rob ,great colour
Top quality job once again Rob 👍👍
That is an absolute beauty. Very well done mate.
Also, on the subject of licence plates, I think it's a "the grass is always greener" situation. Because besides the 90's/00's green and blue Missouri plates that I feel nostalgia for, I don't really care much about the native plates here. But I've seen plenty of people here putting European and Japanese plates on their cars to be more showy
Very nice color of green! Glad you saved those wheels because those are the best looking wheels matchbox ever made.lol.Glad to see you are enjoying your Candy paint job adventure. 1983? I have a racing trike tha same age as you.hahaha. You need some Maryland plates..
Thanks George
I had the cop car version of this. I swear my childhood Matchbox collection and 80s films only fuelled my love of US land yachts.
Wow, back in the days I had a few of these Gran Furys. One Cab, two of the Lindbergh Police ones, the Fire Chief and a few NYPD ones. They all had differences, one was complete blue, one was with a roof painted white, one had the pillars white as well and one was completely black. They had two different light bars as well - a white with red lights and a grey one with red lights. Most of the Gran Furys were in a very good condition but - sadly, I have to admit - I concentrated on 1/18 models and gave the Matchbox cars away :(
Edit: I haven't watched the whole video when I was writing this comment but the car turned out very well - I like it a lot :D
Love the color great job again
It just came in!It looks wonderful!(I’m James Payne’s son)
Glad you like it 😎
