My dog became extremely ill and has liver damage due to blue buffalo products. We stopped using last year. Been using Orijen and he loves it more than any other pet food we’ve ever used.
Orijen all day. We transitioned to Orijen puppy (Large breed) as soon as we picked up our Rottie. Prior to this, I was going back & forth between Acana & Orijen. Glad we went w/ Orijen.
I’m picking up my Rottweiler and this is my biggest concern food!! Should I do kibble or raw
@@allthingsdbloctherottweile1783 You can't really mess up their diet when you feed them kibble while with raw you actually can mess up their diet

We had to drastically change our Rottie’s diet. I now cook his food every week. Mostly ground beef & a lot of beef organs.
Just switched my dog to Orijen she actually finishes her bowl now

not a crafty username do you have a large breed dog or a small breed? I also feel origin for large breed puppy but my vet made it seem like the worst food!
Angel Okorie sound like your vet doesn’t know anything about food!! They say it’s bad because they don’t have grains but about 6 months ago they came out with a full grain line and because of being influenced they tend to only go with what they know. They meaning some vets don’t take the time to learn about foods
I have a Shiba Inu, I've been looking at Orijen for awhile but it wasn't readily available to me. But PetCo carries it now, and I was talking to one of the employees about transitioning my dog off puppy food. I was torn between keeping her on the same brand, Taste of the Wild and Orijen. I was feeding her whole hearted, the employee said that even though whole hearted is a Petco brand that he whole heartaly (good pun) recommended Orijen over any dog food they sold. Right now I'm trying to transition her to Orijen like I did with her puppy kibble in the past...... Not going so good. She literally picks up the whole hearted fog food and drops it on the ground till only Orijen is in her bowl and then starts eating..... Ugh
I think it all depends on your dog and their diet needs. My dog gets super sick on dog food filled with alot of high protein, he can have protein but it also has to have some oats or rice.

Well my bully puppy LOVES her Baby Blue. Her treats gives her diarrhea sometimes, and im not sure if theres a correlation.. but letting her eat a lil of her chow clears it right up. Ive had her for about a month going on two and she has REALLY blown up. (In size, not fat). I see nothing wrong with what shes eating now, so i think ill stick to it till shes a little older. Great video, hella informative
Orijen for the win. My puppy has the shiniest coat, brightest eyes & I know her inside matches. 100% worth the $$.

Hey adam, it's my first time here and have decided to subscribe since I really liked what you did comparing the two brands.
My only advice is to tone down the music. Sometimes it was fighting with your voice so I think you should lower it a tad or remove it all together. Music is sort of distracting. It's okay to have it when you're not talking (ex: when you were showing the time lapse video of the two foods).

We switched to Orijen for our chows. One pup has a sensitive tummy and gets sick easily and the other has sensitive skin. Both pups like Orijen, both are doing well, and it's not stupid expensive.

Does this same test work on cat food as well. Also can you do a mash up on diamond naturals dog food and a comparable brand?
Orijen as based on your parameters. It had less bubbles,it broke downon the bottom i all's noted or started on the bottom, so denser??

Hey Adam, I'm new to your channel. Thanks for all the work you put for your subscribers. I do have a request. Diamond Naturals are considered by many as the best for the buck premium brand. There aren't many videos on this brand. Can you please do a comparison between this brand, to another brand near the same price point, such as taste of the wild, or pro plan focus?
I have reached out to them before trying to get samples and they say yes they will send me some but they never do.

My French Mastiff was having issues keeping this food down. She's only been on Diamond Naturals, so I'm not sure whether or not it is this food, or if there is something else going on.
I'm trying the Pro plan focus to see whether or not this will make a difference before experimenting with a more expensive brand.
i am in transition to give my puppy Acana puppy and junior,, would be very cool to see same compagny Acana and Orijen match up!

i gave my 8 week pitbull blue wilderness puppy & started vomitting for 2 days, poops watery etc.. i liked the natural ingredients but after digging deeper in the reviews i see alot of the same trend.. im curious now if the BB products are all "gassy/float" like this.. ill look over your channel for more BB info, & probably try out orijen.

Can you please do a mash up of Dr. Gary’s Best Breeds Puppy Food vs any of the higher quality puppy foods.. I just found out about Dr. Gary’s and all the ingredients seem good and it’s slow-cooked in small batches plus it’s a smaller business so I think I’m gonna give it a shot for my catahoula pup

Orijon is expensive. Is there anything thats about half the price of orijon?
I've been using the salt factor as a way to find good kibble but it's hard finding one with fruits and vegetables before the salt is listed. Do you know of any kibble that's budget friendly with salt listed further down?
I’ve been doing a lot of research and found that Pro PAC ultimates is the best dog food for the best price. They have at least 4 veges/fruits listed before salt and it’s also grain inclusive so if you believe the hype on DCM, it’s a safe alternative to grain free. The reason you haven’t heard of it is because they don’t advertise like the other companies do. As always, feeding fresh or raw is the best for a dog but Pro pac comes the closest to being a reasonably priced good dog food. Hope that helps!
hello Adam, while in food transition i pick up the Orijen puppy, im wodering why i dont see salt in the Ingredient as they say it contain no added salt?,, are you reviewing the Orijen from Kentucky or the original one from Canada? thnaks

Sadly, Orijen’s formula has changed, and seemingly not for the better. A lot of the goodness is now listed behind salt. Further, they no longer claim 15% fruits and vegetables on the label, presumably because they can’t.. nearly all fruits and vegetables are now listed behind salt, leaving me to question the complete nutritional value of this product.
The Orijen puppy formula ingredient list as of February 2022 is now as follows:
Chicken, turkey, turkey giblets (liver, heart, gizzard), flounder, whole mackerel, eggs, chicken liver, whole herring, dehydrated chicken, dehydrated turkey, dehydrated mackerel, dehydrated chicken liver, dehydrated egg, whole red lentils, whole pinto beans, whole peas, chicken fat, lentil fiber, pollock oil, whole green lentils, whole navy beans, natural chicken flavor, whole chickpeas, pea starch, chicken heart, SALT,
whole pumpkin, whole butternut squash, collard greens, whole pears, whole apples, whole cranberries, dried kelp, zinc proteinate, mixed tocopherols (preservative), thiamine mononitrate, calcium pantothenate, vitamin E supplement, copper proteinate, dried chicory root, turmeric, sarsaparilla root, althea root, rosehips, juniper berries, citric acid (preservative), rosemary extract, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Bifidobacterium animalis fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product.
As you can see, it’s still a great kibble for protein. In my case, I may elect to continue with Orijen and supplement with raw fruits and veggies.
It would be interesting to see a comparison video of the old formula to to new.

Do the ingredients after “salt” mean they are
less than?
@@aronp713 yes watch the video. Ingredient percentage is federally required to be listed in descending order of it’s percentage of overall ingredients. Salt is federally required to be no more than 1% of total ingredients. So as the logic goes, anything listed after salt is less than 1% of total ingredients. In other words, you’d be lucky to have one cranberry in the entire bag. It’s a marketing trick, nearly all kibbles do it.

I thought orijen would win hands down since blue is an awful company no offense too many recalls for this dog mom!! I feed mine raw but orijen is the best kibble I would say just my opinion though since you asked
Thank you,I considered the gentle giants for her but i wasnt sure about it,alot of these foods I cant find locally so I'd have to order online and I would like to find one i cant get instead of ordering,only places I have close is a Petsense(not sure what they have) and Tractor supply.....I also thought about the American journey but I'm still not sure.

I would look into a fresh topper to add to her food. That would Encourage a better more enticing meal
