Not only is there a reason, there's a whole bunch, but I'll help ya with the 3 easiest to understand!
1- the world wanted Dame to take that shot. Everyone in that arena knew Dame was taking that shot. What does that mean? The weaker defensive focus (and therefore more quality shot) is elsewhere (i.e a 7'1 center shooting a straightforward three?)
2- brook lopez is shooting 38.6% from three this year. Dame is shooting 37.4%. Last year Lopez finished with a higher %. This isn't a cherry picked stat. Don't say "wHo wOuLd you dRaW tHaT pLaY fOr?" Like brook is some scrub...
3 - probably the most relevant ...30 game seconds prior to this play, was a 3 pt shot that gave the bucks a 1 point lead. That shot was hit by Brook Lopez :)
