Peter, Over the last 40+ years I have owned a variety of organs and keyboards, the latter because of the market trend, but at heart I've always been an organ fan.The appearance of the RS6000 rekindled my interest and it seemed to offer all that I had always wanted. Having now aquired one I have not been disappointed and have to say that it is the most easy "sit down and play " instrument that I have owned.Your exploring the RS6000 and Tips & Tricks videos have already helped me get more from this organ and I have been enjoying your 5 sets of registrations available from Music Traders. And now,the icing on the cake these brilliant Blackpool registrations. It is most generous of you to make these freely available and I am sure all Ringway fans will agee that you deserve our warmest thanks. Ron Keel
As someone who lived only 30 miles from Blackpool Tower as a young man, I can certainly vouch for the authentic registrations of the Tower Wurlitzer, that you have put together Peter. I used to dance in the Tower Ballroom in my teenage years, and visited the Tower when ever we have taken vacations back to England from our home here in Canada. The beautiful Wurlitzer and memories of Blackpool Tower will always be in our hearts. Thanks for sharing this. All the very best, Ed
+Edmund Wootton Hello Ed, Creating these registrations has been a real pleasure. I too have so many happy memories of the Tower Wurlitzer, both listening to it, and playing on it. This little Orla RS600 is never failing to amaze and delight me, both in the quality of the sound, and in the versatilty of those sounds. Great fun to edit and resave those voices into different "personal" registrations, such as this new set. Thanks very much for listening, and for your kind comments. All best wishes - Peter :)
Hello Peter, I just laid my hands on your very fine registrations. Since May I'm a proud owner of one RS 600, its a very fine little instrument, with nearly unlimited possibilities. Thank you for sharing these wonderful registration and your wonderful music with us.
+Da Yang Hello, thanks for your kind message and I am really pleased you have my new registrations for the RS600, and happy that you are enjoying this great little instrument. Here's wishing you lots of "Happy Music!!" - All the very best, Peter :)
Just bought an rs600 after owning an Orla RX620 for 22 years, Would not have dared get up to date without the really great videos you produce which are so helpful and love to see and hear you play, something I will never be able to emulate.
Hello Max, Thank you very much for your kind message, and I am pleased to hear that you too have bought an RS600. More new videos on their way soon.... Good luck & all happiness with your music. Cheers - Peter :)
+Glenys Bacon Thank you, Glenys. I am very happy that you enjoyed my new "Blackpool" sounds. I had great fun (a really good "project") creating them. Thanks for listening to my music, and more to come soon. Best wishes to you, from us in Sweden - Peter :)
+Charlie Buchanan Thank you, Charlie... and I give thanks every day for my sense of humour. A smile or a laugh keeps us young, and gets us through some of those "not-so-good" days the world can throw at us. All Best Wishes to you - Peter :)
+Mike Reed Thanks again, Mike. I am still being amazed by how versatile this tiny little double manual organ is. I'm having loads of fun creating new sounds. Best wishes - Peter :)
Really good registrations there Peter, your certainly getting the best out of that little Organ and showing just how versatile it is, for the quality and price it should help to keep the home Organ alive, lets hope so! All the best, Keith
+Keith Horton Hi Keith, Thanks for your friendly comment and, yes, I think the RS600 is certainly helping a little bit (as much as one can expect, given the declining state of the "real organ" world) to revive at least some interest in playing a home organ again. The price, size, and quality of the sounds have all come together to make it a very attractive alternative to a single keyboard. Thanks for keeping in touch, and all the best from Kathy & me - Peter :)
+organaut Thank you very much, Jason, and here's wishing you a very Happy and Musical New Year 2016. I am looking forward to playing again at Belper in September, and to meeting all my friends again. All Best Wishes - Peter :)
Very well done "Reginald" You've created some truly great sounds. And the Orla does justice to them too. Brought back memories of my Come Dancing days as a ballroom dancer as well as my time as pub pianist! Also reminded me that this style of music is one I've never even begun to master. Mind you, I was watching closely for a few playing tips. Maybe there's room for a couple of UA-cam tutorials? And maybe these registrations might be possible to set up for my portable instrument...the Yamaha S950. Very best wishes Peter, and thanks for the memories!!
+Richard Hannam Hi Richard, Thanks very much for your friendly comments, and if you check out my friend Paull Carman's channel - the "Orlachannel" - you will find plenty of Hints & Tips (for the RS600) to help other owners get the best from their instrument. Glad you enjoyed my own "Blackpool Memories" - I had great fun creating these new sounds. Thanks for listening, and all best wishes - Peter :)
+Richard Hannam Hello Richard, Sorry I misunderstood... I have been concentrating so hard on putting the "Orla Hints & Tips" together, that the minute I heard the word "tips" my thoughts instantly jumped to the RS600. The other reason though, is that there are many tips on Theatre Organ playing that I have already posted up on UA-cam. Try typing keywords such as : Peter Hayward Theatre ending : Waterfalling : Open Harmony : Close Harmony : Theatre organ intro : Countermelody. plus several more organtechniques that may also be helpful to theatre organ players. The only aspect that I know isn't already up there, is the art of registrating an organ. This is pretty difficult to film as it depends (especially on electronics) on the make/model/specification of the organ, as I am sure you appreciate they all differ, sometimes quite considerably. Hope you find (and enjoy) my theatre organ tips that are already on UA-cam, and (give me a little time) I may be able to knock a few general registration tips together, that pertain to ALL models of organ. Leave it with... a good challenge. All very best wishes for your own "Happy Music!!" - Peter :)
WOW...just amazing ...really love it... !!! Greetings Gurli from Denmark.... ,...... ( by the way........ the ORLA organ is also a wonderful instrument, the "ORLA compact theatre " model is that very expensive in UK......? ).
+gurliorganmusic Thanks , Gurli. Glad you liked the sounds of my Blackpool Registrations on the Orla. I am not 100% sure of the Orla prices, but if you check out www.musictraders.co.uk you will find prices of most Orla instruments on there, plus all the "special offers" available. Thanks again for your kind messages, and for listening to my music. Greetings from Sweden - Peter :)
Wonderful sound from such a small organ. That's more to do with your musical genius than anything else! I've spoken to you a few times when I was living in England ... Since then I moved to America and I'm also the proud owner of a Roland 900 platinum. Have you played one and if so have you heard the amazing theatre organ sounds on it? I really think it's the best electronic organ available. Ps - I know you have a few books out!... Any chance I could buy copies off you directly? All the very best to you Peter! Your wonderful
+TheChrisnab100 Hi Chris, Great to hear from you, and pleased that things are going well for you. I have never tried the Roland 900 Platinum, but I should imagine that the theatre sounds are superb. Roland always have had excellent quality voices : I have played a few concerts on the Atelier models, and was always very happy with the sounds they can produce. A few of my books are still available from my friends Janet Dowsett and her husband Neil, who still run a great music business as The Music People. I have my own little page on their shop site at : www.themusicpeople.co.uk my books (especially the out-of-print titles) also crop up fairly regularly on ebay. Thanks again for your kind message, and very best wishes to you from us in Sweden _ Peter :)
... I'm not a "friend" of wurlitzer organ or theatre organ sounds ( in germany it was at no time very popular), but if you play some of the sounds, it seem's nice 😉 🎹🎼🎵best wishes from northern germany ✌
Thanks for watching this one, although I understand what you say about the theatre sounds. There are many people who either love, or hate, the sound and the style. I always used to include a COUPLE of theatre tunes in my electronic concerts... but certainly not too many. All best wishes from Sweden - Peter :)
Hello, Really happy that you like my registrations. The first song is called "Who's Taking you Home Tonight?" - and was often used as a final waltz song when playing for dances. Thanks for listening. Cheers, Peter :)
@@HaywardMusic Thanks Peter, will look that up. :) One more question ... do you tour and do performances in Essex ever? Such as Chelmsford Organ and Keyboard Club?
