Thank for posting the video Dr. Shankopotamus! I have a question about the electronic module, if I decide to install the module at a later date, do I have to remove the bumper, tail lights all over again for future installation?
I only use my tow hitch for attaching a bike carrier. If you're actually towing for real, you might need to flash the ECU. However, mine has the M package on it with a little more torque and a little more horsepower. I never saw anything that said I needed to flash the ECU on mine for full-on towing. Thanks for watching. I have the 2014 X5 diesel M package and took X5 for tow hitch for bike rack purpose. Recently I was going to toll a trailer but forgot that I don’t have the electrical wiring. Wondering if you eventually installed the electrical and did the coding for tow hitch

Do you need any special programming? I have a 2019 x5 and the dealer is quoting 4K for a tow hitch install?
