War was rampaging all over the land for decades. In a desperate move to end it all, the mages provoked The Cataclysm. Massive balls of pure magic obliterated nearly everything. A strange purple mist propagated everywhere. They say that those who entered the mist were killed, driven mad, or worse…
Only a few Havens keep up the fight against the hordes of bloodthirsty monsters that come out at night from this damned mist. A few strained heroes protect the walls night after night, until a handful of mages manage to cast The Last Spell and banish all magic from this accursed world. And maybe save us all. Maybe.
The Last Spell is a tactical RPG with roguelite elements. During the days, you’ll have to carefully choose how you will re-build your city and how you’ll position your defenses. Will you prioritize buying a brand new flaming sword, or build a Mana Well to regenerate some priceless Mana after battles?
During night, you’ll have to exterminate all the monsters coming at your walls with a large range of weapons and powers. Level up your heroes, and repeat until the end.
Turn-Based Tactical RPG:
● The whole RPG package: primary stats, secondary stats, skills, perks, traits… and more.
● Build your own classes: upgrade your heroes with stat bonuses and perks. Want to make a canon glass rogue/mage fighting with a gun? Do it!
● Tons of procedurally generated trinkets, armors and weapons, each with their own skillset and playstyle!
● Manage your squad of heroes: they’re strong, but they are few and they have access to limited resources. Healing is rare, so try to find the good balance.
Hordes of Evil:
● Waves of hundreds of enemies to slay, burn, shock and slice! Don’t get overwhelmed.
● Dozens of enemy types with different behaviors, which will get stronger and stronger as you progress.
● Think and adapt: you have to deal with A LOT of enemies, so you want to optimize your damage output with strong AOE attacks. Enemies have various strength and weaknesses that will challenge your wits.
Protect the City:
● Rebuild the city to help you between fights. Get healed, get items, get new heroes. Spend your resources wisely!
● Build up your defenses: walls, traps, towers, catapults… every bit of help is welcomed.
● Protect the circle of magic at all costs! If you lose it, it’s game over.
Roguelite Elements:
● The game is meant to be hard. You will fail… but everytime you do, you’ll grow stronger.
● Procedurally generated Enemy waves, characters, weapons and a ton of unlockables will keep you entertained.
● A full range of difficulty levels to entertain the craziest hardcore players.

I'm convinced, you finished without losing only because you can't afford to waste more time on this game we forced you to play. Good job anyway, you're a god gamer. Btw, the ballista bug was fixed in a recent patch. This talent, which gives you xp from ballista kills was broken and values were much higher. And Ballistas was nerfed a lot. They now cost 60 materials, and upgrades are more expensive. Also, all omens and talents supporting them are nerfed too. Not sure why they even bother in a single-player game.

I dont understand the complains about people needing an easy mode. Like you can literally add all the omens you want to any scenario, boosting all of you chatacter stats, economy, city resistance, and even exp gain/perk total. What else is needed? Like do they want the game to play itself?

It's a ton of content but I appreciate you sticking it out! It's so cool to have seen you tear through these with genuinely impressive strategy. I've always known you were incredible at playing roguelikes, but usually I'm more cognizant of your active skill, not strategic capability.
Side note, the fact that it's even possible to beat this without losing, despite all the meta progression available, is a great sign to me (even if I doubt I could match the feat).

WOW; that was impressive. It speaks to your skill that you were able to beat this game on a clean progression sheet, unly with onlocks you got through winning. Also a good indicator that, while there is a lot of meta progression - its at least possible to succeed without failing a lot first.

I absolutely loved this game when playing myself, but failed miserably on the seahorse boss even though I tried him with the "cheating" mode where you just get all the omens you have

when the final night began all your characters were like, now we're actually going to fight you.
What a great and interesting ending. It'll be interesting to see if anything further is done with this setting. Also, my favourite part of these long-form series is Reto's commentary, he's just such a witty guy at times, there were several jokes said throughout this episode alone that had me laughing.
Game was quite cool. The heroes get way O.P. it's amazing seeing the change. They just wreak a horde on their own.

ok soooo im on night 7 of this stage... i have a great axe/ small hammer warrior with blood magic organic armor, coagulation, bodybuilder, sanguine damage(mana damage talent turned into health damage), lone wolf, isolation assassin and big game hunter, he has 953 hp and about 90% damage, and 195% phys damage..... he hits for 3.9k on a crit and is an absolute beast meanwhile the rest of my team get 1 shot by that chaos swords mirror shield :( anything more than 1 hit per round per person and it either cripples or kills them im on attempt number 3 lol
also i watched every video of this series. thank you for continuing even though a few times you said you werent going to
