    This video brings me back to when my uncle opened up his box in 2012. I watched these videos frequently and fell in love with CrossFit. Me and my friends were always eager to get out of school to catch the 3:30 class. I miss these days fondly. Thank you CrossFit!

    Im confused by why people here are hateing so hard on Crossfit. Iv done it for just about a year now. My fitness has improved greatly. I combined what i do in Cross fit with my regular weight lifting and iv gotten even more gains in the last year then in all my time lifting weights. These lifts are incredibly technical. And contrary to popular belief cross fit is not all about Max reps fuck proper form. In my time doing cross fit not once has a trainer told me to go heavy and do improper form for the sake of a lift. Half of our classes is spent learning proper form, grip, and execution of a lift before we even put weight on a bar. All im saying is don't hate on something just cause you don't do it or see it a certain way.. No need for the negativity.

    In olympic lifting the rules are the opposite of what you're saying. You are NOT allowed to press the weight. You are supposed to force the weight up, and drop under it, and lockout the elbows. If the elbows visibly are not locked, and the weight is pressed, it is known as a "press out" and is red lighted.

      Sophie Y. The form here is awful. Struggle to maintain good torso posture a multitude of reasons. A lot of unsafe things going on here. Most of this video is hard to watch. Half of these jerks the lifters have to lock the elbows, per IWF regulation, that would be a no lift. Most of these guys at these weights are severely out classes by serious weightlifters. As a football player, I see WR’s do weight like this. To me, this is not impressive, especially these guys, who should have a good snatch/c&j due to the fact a lot of cross fit revolves around that.

    ok just pointing out some things. Rich and Dan have pretty excellent form and it's very impressive that rich is lifting such heavy weights in flats. However, the other lifters are lifting very sloppily. Their coach, who is suppose to be a qualified olympic weightlifting coach, is congratulating them on no-lifts. Thats makes no sense. on a couple lifts they didn't lock on their jerks and had very bad squatting form.

    Whats "crossfit" about a snatch and a clean&jerk?

    • @NotProgramedToFeel
      @NotProgramedToFeel 8 років тому +2

      Well, these are professional Crossfiters. Also, snatches and clean & jerks are very common lifts in Crossfit. So, what's "Crossfit" about it is that professional Crossfiters that are performing a lift that is common in Crossfit haha.

      Avocado, do you really believe that? You must not be too bright. Being able to do this and a bunch of other stuff, too, is what it's all about. If all they did was this stuff you'd have a point. But they don't. They do all kinds of movements. Don't be a db

    I know a lot of South African rugby teams incorporate Crossfit workouts into their training...
    Yes the movements are intense but if you're PROPERLY trained and have a coach who cares then you're golden.
    I've lost 10% body fat in 4 months and I've increased my deadlift 1RM from 175kg to 200kg and my back squat from 160kg to 180kg in the last 2 months...
    The strength and fitness I've gained from doing Crossfit is amazing...and to the doubters, my lower back/core and joints are all getting stronger all the time because I'm doing it properly and I have coaches who know what they're doing.

    Why just bail on a snatch when you can potentially snap your shoulders up or drop a bar on your head? Lol crossfit logic risking an injury to impress a small crowd of people that are oblivious to the fact that people who actually do olympic lifts as a full time gig can snatch way more! They should be trying to impress people with muscle endurance, functional strength and cardio not olympic lifts!

    • @Kocis19
      @Kocis19 11 років тому +2

      What a lousy comment. Explain to me why it isn't right for them to "impress" in every area including weightlifting? Who are you to tell anyone what they should stick to or not? Athletes can't be good at more than 1 thing I guess? Clean it man.

    • @isaacbeckel2044
      @isaacbeckel2044 11 років тому +6

      Kocis19 It's not impressive though, Klokov snatches 450 that's impressive. I think pro Crossfitters have spectacular cardio, muscle endurance and good functional strength so I mean't they should just bail on the snatch instead of risking a dislocated shoulder or a concussion all because you wanted to impress a crowd but really you're just having a dick measuring contest with defective rulers. Most of these snatches wouldn't count in an Olympic weightlifting competition big or small, they need to lock the elbows out on the snatch. They can do oly lifts all they want I could care less, I just wouldn't advise anybody to lift the way they do.

    • @Kocis19
      @Kocis19 11 років тому +3

      I'm not a supporter of Crossfit, nor is it impressive compared to Klokov or Ilya, but they don't live to train weightlifting, as far as I know everybody who weightlifts seriously suffers some harmful injuries. These guys are doing alright for themselves, let them at it. If they get hurt, they live and learn. Classic crossfit cult of course they're gonna have a crowd, even if they were seeing who could piss further.

    This is olympic lifting. I hate that Reebok has stolen an olympic sport and rebranded it as their own special thing that gets tied in with the other bullshit exercises they do. You're not gonna move the same amount of weight as these guys following the WOD. You've actually got to train and not work out for the sake of working out.

    • @chiv5883
      @chiv5883 11 років тому

      Nope, but I can identify the difference between a training program and an exercise program.

    • @chiv5883
      @chiv5883 11 років тому +3

      Nah, I'm going to an olympic lifting coach instead to focus on the explosiveness and power I want to develop instead of going to an Crossfit course because I know my coach will help me focus on what I want to achieve. Crossfit prides itself in it's lack of specialization and that is it's downfall as a true training program in my eyes. Jack of all trades is the master of none.

    • @chiv5883
      @chiv5883 11 років тому +1

      You know what? You make a good point. I forgot that Crossfit is a sport itself. You will become a better Crossfitter if you train with Crossfit much the same as playing hockey will make you a better hockey player.

      There's a reason why crossfitters look down on people that specialize. Have you seen bodybuilders, they have literally no movement beyond pushing and pulling. Even with runners, they work on cardio but have no strength training.
