  • Kula Shaker, an English psychedelic rock band led by Crispian Mills, rose to fame in the post-Britpop late 1990s. The band achieved significant UK chart success with hits like "Tattva", "Hey Dude", "Govinda", "Hush", and "Sound of Drums", and their debut album, "K", topped the UK Albums Chart. Their music, known for blending traditional Indian instruments and themes with Western rock, drew inspiration from Indian culture, mysticism, and the 9th-century king Kulasekhara. Despite commercial success, critics were divided, with some viewing them as a "joke band". After disbanding in 1999, Kula Shaker reunited in 2004, leading to further albums including "Strangefolk" (2007), "Pilgrims Progress" (2010), "K 2.0" (2016), "1st Congregational Church of Eternal Love and Free Hugs" (2022), and "Natural Magick" (2024). Their music, characterized by a unique blend of Eastern and Western musical styles, has continued to attract a loyal fanbase despite periods of inactivity and critical skepticism.
