I remember hearing about this interaction from someone in a comment section who had been there that night. Everyone called bullshit on the guy, but turns out he was telling the truth! Some viewed the heckler as an asshole but other people ive spoken to who were also there said that the heckler was a big fan, and was upset seeing john so unwell and strung out. I cant imagine my own reaction to john at this time as a fan. Hed written such great music but was so visibly unwell that watching him perform it wouldn't have been difficult. Youd want to protect him but theres nothing you can do. I am obsessed with frusciante and this period of history. I have no good reason other than Frusciante being my favourite artist, and him having a long complex history to go with the art.
Don't, River was a drug user just like John, they were guys in their only 20s who both started to experiment with various drugs, we can say that it's tragic that he died such a young ages even though he brought it upon himself but there is no reason to feel bad for him being friends with John, that is the crowd he choose to associate with.

John Frusciante is a beautiful human being, River saw that on him… at the time he was suffering depression and heroin addiction… he wasn’t him at all. Listen to interviews from the 2000’s or now, where he’s clean and healthy, he truly has a beautiful soul

We’ll as a follower and recovering addict I still have all kinds of problems! Just because we choose to follow Jesus doesn’t mean all our problems disappear. I still struggle with wanting to get high daily unfortunately and I’m an older man. I wish it was that easy! Thankfully John got clean and stayed there. Now In the peppers for the 3rd time.
