They are worth it all for the love they give you no matter what.........I have found with over 70 years of owning dogs, a lot of misbehavior is lack of interaction and exercise. And they are so funny,,,,,,,I adopt seniors humans dump because they are seniors, they are the best.... !!! They bring us joy, amusement, love, loyalty, and yes sometimes frustration. All worth it.....
Since dogs are social creatures, it is usually recommended that you have two dogs so they can socialize with each other. Of course, if you have a small space and just do not want to deal with large dogs, two small dogs would be advisable. Just like people, dogs can get bored and that’s when they find things to do that you may not want them to do.
Mine didn't really. Although, if I buy her toys, they have to be rubber or made of tough stuff otherwise they get destroyed. Hardest thing with her training was actually house breaking her.
Kabir, if you do get a dog, try to research the breed or breeds you're interested in. Certain breeds will act differently breeds are more stubborn than others, while others are very active and can get destructive when they are bored. This can also help with training. You could also volunteer to dog sit for one of your friends. It would at least give you an idea of what it's like to be a dog owner. Also, I'm really enjoying the animal videos.
My daughter's 7 month old puppy has eaten my shoes, underwear, glasses, debit card, 2 couch cushions and about six chargers. We have to keep things on top of our garbage can and keep the toilet lid shut. I'll be so happy when he grows out of this stage!
I've only had one dog that caused destruction in my home and that was a Pitbull/Lab mix that suffered from severe separation anxiety. We could be out of the house for a mere 5 minutes and come back to find the cushion to our couch ripped to shreds and scattered throughout the entire house. Despite making sure she got plenty of exercises (minimum of 3 long walks a day and playing fetch all day/night long) she just hated being left in the house alone at all. When we got her she had been neglected by her previous owners though so we never blamed her for anything. We just never bought anything new until we broke her of that habit. We went through so many bones and toys to keep her busy when we had to leave her home alone but nothing helped until we finally found the Kong balls. Then she became obsessed with that thing wanting to take it with her to go potty, on walks and even slept with it in her mouth like a huge cigar.
Dogs are very perceptive of our tone and body language. They know when they're being scolded. Hence the tucked tails and trying to hide from punishment. I only ever had something like this happen once with a dog and it was really our own fault. If dogs aren't getting enough activity, they can end up doing stuff like this.
It's funny on the internet, but not so much when the dog destroys YOUR things. However, most of the fault is with the owners who seldom train their pets. Dogs will chew and destroy stuff when they're young and teething, bored, or just mad at you.
My dog was destructive as a puppy. The funniest thing he did was when he realized the toilet paper would follow him when he bit it and ran away, I couldn't stop laughing long enough correct him.
In my 44 years out of the womb, my immediate family of 4 growing up has had 9 dogs, twice as many cats, dozens of hamsters & gerbils, and about 15-20 desert tortoises(the dad is currently older than me(he was full grown when we got him when I was 5), and I still have him and one of his kids). Just adopted 2 black labs last year (aged 11 and 6 years old now, since one just celebrated his 11th b-day last week). They require a LOT of responsibility, patience(especially when young), and a TON of $$, but give you a lot of love, protection(in the case of the dogs), and joy too. We had a 2000 sq foot house and about as big of a backyard for them to play in growing up. Now w/ a 1 bedroom apt it's not quite as easy, but still fun. My dogs love going to visit my pops in my childhood home to play in the pool, since AZ is SOOOOO hot.
Mate GET A DOG, if you are even considering it you’re missing out! They are wonderful fun, I have staffy’s they are the sweetest breed. As far as damage not really any after training but my first Staffy would chew the corners of skirting boards, which was annoying ❤ but get a dog mate they are no trouble
I've had 8 dogs over my lifetime. The Labradors were wild as pups, but once past the raptor phase, they were great. The Shepherds didn't ever give me trouble. Both breeds are extremely smart. When you're ready to get a dog, I'll happily supply you with tons of knowledge, from books and lived experiences.
Did you know that a dog is the only living creature that loves you more than they love themselves? Their loyalty is on another level! They're are pretty amazing!
OMG ❤❤It and Thank you Needed this today...65yr old from USA subscriber awhile..this morning our 17yr old Border Collie Izzy had massive seizure..Best Dog ever and I've had 14 in my life..he stopped breathing at one point Jaw seized, bit tongue...Good News he"s rallied, got up & went to drink from water bowl...he's Never been Bad...our 8yr old Corgi..different story..she's a destroyer LOL ❤❤ Rock On Kabir, Always Love the posts and Needed this one today ❤❤❤
I've had a few dogs in my life. All of them went to obedience training and they were all crate trained. This mischief wouldn't happen while the owner is away if the untrained pups were in their crates. You have a blanket and couple of chew toys in the crate. A dog in it's crate does not feel "caged up". The crate is their 'den' where the pup feels safe. Eventually, the door is left open and the house-trained dog can be left unsupervised.
My dogs were pretty well behaved. They rarely ever tore up anything but the rare occasions they did were pretty hilarious. One time I brought home about a dozen bags from Walmart and put them in the floor. My boy would peak in the bags but he wouldn't mess with anything. This particular night, he was looking into the bags when he started trying to pull something out. I started to get on to him until I realized what it was. I forgot I had bought them each a toy that day. He knew that what was in that bag was for him so he pulled it out and started running all over with it. One time I bought a big, soft Christmas tree skirt and made the mistake of laying it out on the floor. They decided that was their new bed and I came back into the room to both of them curled up on it. 😂
My dogs tore stuff up when they were puppies but they are almost 3 years old now and the only thing they ever shred is one of their toys every once in while. If you train them and make sure they get plenty of exercise, you'll be fine. I did have a dog growing up that would dump the trash over if she was mad (we were gone too long, etc). We would just make sure we put the trash can where she couldn't get to it when we weren't home.
Most instance of this sort occur when the animal is home alone. I've heard one "expert" state that dogs damage items in the home [pillows, curtains, furniture etc] because of "Separation Anxiety" from their owner (pack leader). Whether or not that's true, I can't say. I've never had a dog myself, but I did agree to watch my brother's dog for several days while he was away on business. NEVER again !!
Suggestion with feather filled pillows or bedding...they can smell them in the 'whateveritmaybe' - and then proceed to tear it apart. Regular stuffing, etc. is often recommended. Funny little wonders, though.
Love it so sweet cant be mad. I think puppies are naturally energetic but the older they get they're like people some are little calmer and some are more rambunctious. Luckily the dogs that i grew up with were in the calmer side well behaved
That dog climbing up the ladder reminds me of our cat my family had when I was a kid. My dad was shingling the roof and we would climb up there with him. Our cat would climb up the ladder and lay up there with us. I don't know how we got him down from there but we somehow did it.
I always put my dog in a sectioned off area of the house when I was not home. Like kitchen, laundry room. Garbage always under the sink. Never leave anything on countertop
I've never had a dog do that kind of damage. Once, a German Shepherd Golden Lab mix puppy I had when I was a teen chewed the corner of the coffee table, but technically, that was the family dog. One dog I had that was a Doberman and Black Laborador mix had a cable-run and ran back and forth creating a trench. That dog was so athletic. Dogs are very high maintenance. I would get a long-haired German Shepherd if I could, but I'll always have at least 1 cat. Cats are just badasses, they're hella cheaper, less needy, easy to take care of, and extremely good companions at night Instead of hogging the bed, they fit snuggly in the pit of your arm, atop you head, or in the pit of your abdomen. I've always trained my pets. They seem happier than untrained animals. Obviously, I prefer large dogs. To be honest, I did have a miniature Schnauzer named "Groovy." She was perfect. She even sat at the threshold of any room I was in, asking permission to enter. I saw one of the "Benji" movies in which Benji crawled. I looked at Groovy and said, "You could do that!" It took 3 tries, and she did it. I'm pretty sure I was the only person within a 100 mile radius who had a dog who would Army crawl on command.🤣
You have to be home a lot with a young puppy - or else crate them if you are gone. Crates are security for them (a safe place like a den or lair) so they don't get too much anxiety while you are at work. It also helps with toilet training since puppies don't like to do their business in their crate. You need to make sure they have access to water at all times.
My dog doesn't destroy things. He is pretty good to leave alone for awhile. What he does is whine and bark at me when I come home. I think he is doing a doggie version of "Where have you been Mom?"" He's pretty chill. His big problem is trying to run out the door when you open it and take off down the street. Literally have to shut him in another room or is a game of chase the dog for a mile or two.
My dog hasn’t really destroyed anything besides his toys since getting adjusted. Just remember if u get a dog make sure ur home enough to spend time w them! Plus adopt don’t shop!! My Chiweenie is like a member of the family - can’t imagine life without him!!
Different breeds are smarter overall than others and learn behaviors (good or bad) very fast. Individual dogs can vary above or below the average intelligence of their breeds as well. The best thing with puppy training is to be proactive and set them up for success in the very beginning. Mistakes and accidents may happen but can be minimized or be absent if done properly from the moment the new pup comes home. One of my dogs was almost 100% trustworthy at 6 months of age, another wasn’t trustworthy at 6 years (rescued as an adult) but had made HUGE improvements. However she knocked a bookshelf over and ate the bottle, just the plastic bottle, of joint supplements for dogs while the other dogs ate the supplements…so that was 3 counts of distributing meds without a license 😜 (plus $10K in ER bills) and she got life in jail while the humans were gone. The more consistent and watchful you are and the more you resist caving to their adorable and lovable puppy faces the faster your dog will progress regardless of intelligence level. Even as a former dog trainer I can tell you it’s not easy but it will make the training easier because you set and stuck to the regiment and the rules. ❤

I can only stay mad at my dogs for a few minutes. They’re not too destructive once they get older, but it also depends on the breed. My youngest was the most destructive; she actually chewed on the corner of a wall in the 30 minutes I was gone to pick up another dog from the groomer. She’s an aggressive chewer because she’s part dachshund. Definitely study breeds before adopting.
Really think hard before getting a dog. It's a big commitment. I could tell you stories of my past with raising dogs, but I don't want this comment to be that long.
Dogs do crazy things but they will give you the most love you’ve ever had and without one you will never know true love. Any damage my dog has done has been worth the love. You laugh about it and move on. Truly mans/women’s best friend. Training depends on the breed or breeds, age, time and money into training.
If your dog feels they aren't getting enough attention or stimulation, they are more prone to misbehave. The more active the breed, the more likely they are to trash something in the house when they aren't getting enough exercise. Dogs require some serious commitment, some more than others.
I highly recommend doing your research on the breeds. Each come with their own set of problems and needs. As an example, I knew someone who got a border collie and she lived in an apartment. The poor animal nearly went insane and no amount of "puppy school" could train out that dog's natural inclination to need a job to do. Pretty much destroyed her apartment. Certain dogs are suitable for certain environments.
So I have 2 dogs. I have A 8-year-old pit bull and a 3-year-old corgi. They don't really destroy too much stuff because they got plenty of toys to keep them entertained and besides. There are other people that live in my place with me. My 2 other brothers, so they don't really get into too much trouble. The only thing i've ever seen a pit bull named solomon doers drink out of the toilet, and I tell them all the time I'll be doing that
I've had a Rottweiler, a Bullmastiff and and an English Bulldog and they would even rip up the pillows/dog beds I'd put in their crates where they had to be every time I left the house or went to sleep. Maybe I'm just not good at training dogs but not one of them was trustworthy
I have had dogs my entire life and never had one that was destructive. My English Bulldog used to love to bring me things from around the house, though. She walked out of my room with my bra in her mouth during a large gathering, and another time she managed to open the bathroom cabinet and pull a maxi pad out and happily trotted out with it in front of my husband's friends. Socks, shoes, undearwear, bras, maxipads; she never damaged any of it, but It's a good thing I don’t embarrass easily!
In a lifetime of dogs, I’ve never had messes like these and, believe me, every single one of them has been spoiled rotten. The worst thing that ever happened was one night when my parents had dinner guests, the dog went running through the dining room pulling the toilet paper after her. Not uncommon, that dangling end is so attractive.
Get a dog mate! All the training/work you do is nothing compared to all the love, friendship, and companionship you will get. My toy poodle is 15 and I don’t know what I'd do without her.
No Dog would do this when the Owner would give them the Time to play, propper Training and a little bit Brainwork. But 99% of the American Dogs are fat, boring, aggressive, a Doll/Baby, or a Cagevictim😩😢🤬
Dogs are the most magnificent creatures on the face of the planet. I am border line obsessed with them. In my opinion there is nothing more perfect than a dog. I love all animals and I get sick if I see an animal suffer, but dogs just have that extra special something. I am not weird, people who don't like dogs are weird.
My dog never destroyed anything..I also could leave my plate of food near him and he wouldn't touch it...never grabbed things of the table and would only poop on grass...we just trained him right away at 8 weeks old🤷♀️
They are worth it all for the love they give you no matter what.........I have found with over 70 years of owning dogs, a lot of misbehavior is lack of interaction and exercise. And they are so funny,,,,,,,I adopt seniors humans dump because they are seniors, they are the best....

When my dog was a puppy i heard that his brother did a hole in the wall.
He will not grow out of that...that's something that needs to be taught...

My previous dog emptied a trash bag as a protest to a new food change
❤ the doggies!
All puppies are raptors at heart lol my Great Pyrenees was a menace as a puppy, now she's still extra but super chill just sheds too much

Young dogs often do if they are not crate trained. They usually outgrow it though.
Thanks! excellent!!🥰

Dogs are like toddlers, pay attention to what they are doing, always. Train them and pen them up if you have to.

I had a huge Newfoundland and he actually took pictures off the wall and chewed them! 😂
I had a Pomeranian for just shy of 21 years. He made a mess with the trash 1 time and decided to wander the neighborhood 2 times.
They’re most likely breeders and that is why they have so many puppies.
The puppies are just being puppies and having fun.
I had a dog that looked exactly like the dog at 2:05, named Oreo. He's since passed away, 4 years ago

Just be careful when your dog is a pup. People will try to grab him or her
I always put my dog in a sectioned off area of the house when I was not home. Like kitchen, laundry room. Garbage always under the sink. Never leave anything on countertop
Our dog smiles like that when she is in trouble!
My dog throws ALL the pillows in my house, from cushions to bed pillows, on the floor everytime I leave him.
I've never had a dog do that kind of damage. Once, a German Shepherd Golden Lab mix puppy I had when I was a teen chewed the corner of the coffee table, but technically, that was the family dog. Different breeds are smarter overall than others and learn behaviors (good or bad) very fast. Individual dogs can vary above or below the average intelligence of their breeds as well. The best thing with puppy training is to be proactive and set them up for success in the very beginning. The more consistent and watchful you are and the more you resist caving to their adorable and lovable puppy faces the faster your dog will progress regardless of intelligence level. Even as a former dog trainer I can tell you it’s not easy but it will make the training easier because you set and stuck to the regiment and the rules. ❤
Owning a dog is not rocket science
7:30 I don’t think the dog will learn anything from this
My parents had many dogs over the years and I think the only time any of them ever destroyed anything was when they were in the puppy stage. And they had one dog that was afraid of storms, fireworks, and gunshots and once in a while she would potty in the house when she heard them.
My dachshund never destroys anything, just sleeps all day. But if you put one in your yard, they will dig trenches.
13:08 there are the only there are not guilty 😂😂😂
Well-trained dogs don't ruin things like pillows or stuffed toys unless they're anxious or bored. Easy solution is a doggie daycare.
The only thing i've ever seen a pit bull named solomon doers drink out of the toilet, and I tell them all the time I'll be doing that
Huskies are very sassy
I've had a Rottweiler, a Bullmastiff and and an English Bulldog and they would even rip up the pillows/dog beds I'd put in their crates where they had to be every time I left the house or went to sleep. Maybe I'm just not good at training dogs but not one of them was trustworthy
Dogs destroy stuff when they are very young, maybe up to 2 year old, then they just sleep a lot. Of course that depends on the breed.
Try volunteering at a shelter once a week.
I had a Wilbur who ate a chair.
I've never met a dog I didn't like.
My cats have destroyed way more than any dog I've ever owned.
Man sometimes I wish I only had small animals but then I wouldn't want Nickie to be gone now my brother's dog is rotten to the core.
No Dog would do this when the Owner would give them the Time to play, propper Training and a little bit Brainwork. But 99% of the American Dogs are fat, boring, aggressive, a Doll/Baby, or a Cagevictim😩😢🤬
Just get a cat........... its so much easier.
Kabir bro a dog is a great experience
Dogs are the most magnificent creatures on the face of the planet. I am border line obsessed with them. In my opinion there is nothing more perfect than a dog. I love all animals and I get sick if I see an animal suffer, but dogs just have that extra special something. I am not weird, people who don't like dogs are weird.
My dog never destroyed anything..I also could leave my plate of food near him and he wouldn't touch it...never grabbed things of the table and would only poop on grass...we just trained him right away at 8 weeks old🤷♀️
