I have a 1/4”, 3/8”, & 1/2” set of craftsman metric deep sockets that also are ribbed at the ‘top’. I need to check if the non-deep are also ribbed at the top. I am on travel and the geek in me cannot wait to get home to look and find out tomorrow 😂. BTW if needing a way to organize lots of different vintages and brands of sockets Casoman has a crazy deal on socket organizers AMZN right now. 11$ for full complete line of sae & metric peg organizers. Thats cheap enough if reselling to sell with listing and they add value above what you paid for them. I am not affiliated with.
I agree. I had planned on going back on the last day to get deals on what was left but this overcrowded setup just turned me off. That $2 table was great though! 😎
Most molybdenum is used to make alloys. It is used in steel alloys to increase strength, hardness, electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion and wear. These 'moly steel' alloys are used in parts of engines.
The round head in that 1/4 dr set was made by Danaher/KD tool they are a better made than the Stanley made ones. The 1/2 drive you pulled from the top is referred to as a RHFT ratchet when means round head fine tooth.
@ yes. I just do it the same way as you except I use simple green instead of water. When I take them out of the simple green, I wire brush any grease off and then use towels. You cannot believe how shiny the tools are.

Sweet! Thanks for the info. Checking amazon now. Correction... I just bought two sets. Awesome deal.
I have that exact Craftsman gray box socket set, but mine has slightly different contents. You're right, it is 80s and 90s.
Thanks for the info! Worth the ten dollars.
Next time out keep an eye out for a table
lol! When I filmed most of this I was doing a lot of construction in the workshop so table space was at a minimum.
Great tool haul. I would havea hard time with the crowd. Thanks for sharing
Yes, I would have been like a kid in a candy store if there had been fewer people.
Fighting through crowds is not my idea of fun. I am glad you survived to tell the tale.

Supervisors at the end, Outstanding!
Yes! If I don’t let them in they hang around by the door waiting for me to come out. Great companions.
Nice haul
Thanks! I don't like crowded estate sales but I did OK at this one. Had there been fewer people I probably would have spent hundreds. :)
Being able to rebuild a set is great.
Yes, once the sets are complete they’re ready to donate out.

Thanks for the info. It's always great to learn about these old tools. Now if I could figure out how to pronounce it. :)

I think you did well for the price. It's always fun to fill in a missing piece of a set.👍👍
Have a Jesus filled day everyone

Thanks Greg! A good deal but not a fun estate sale by any means. In the end though I’m glad that I went.

Thanks for the info! I'm familiar with KD Tool but never would have guessed that was one of theirs. Also, thanks for the new term. RHFT.
I have that exact 1/4 craftsman set, SAE and metric.
Thanks for the info! I was originally planning on passing these on to someone but they’re great to have on a workbench so I may keep them.
I’ve had mine since 89/90 if I remember correctly. They Never fail me
After Evaporust I soak in Simple green
Thanks! I've never tried that. Do you use the SImple Green as a cleaner?

I have that very craftsman set that is the correct ratchet minus just like it
Thanks for the info! It’s a cool set.
if the craftsman metrin set had a 10mm thats worth 10$
At this estate sale there were likely dozens of those but you had to dig. ;)
