After 2 years of progressing and playing with only sealed products, I felt like something was missing from the truest Yu-Gi-Oh! experience. Once again we start from scratch but this time throw trading into the mix to hit all aspects of our Trading Card Game and relive that childhood nostalgia.

The finishing move the you suggested to your opponent G1 doesn't work either. He is not able to special summon Masquerade after the Staving Venom left the field because it requires the opponent to have a link, synchro, fusion, XYZ or Ritual on the field. But I guess he would have just killed you with a normal summon. :)
Also u missed that your opp round 1 playing despite made an illegal move. He made proskenion using 3 dark monsters. It has to be 1 despia,1 dark and 1 light.

I believe getting freebies is still part of playing a card game properly, there are plenty of players at local cards shops that will give away cards that are basically no value ($1.50 in the case of Mud dragon) to players starting their collections. Considering you are basically playing with the goal of "Starting a Collection" i feel like that mud dragon should go in your deck.

@@hoangnguyen0721 I disagree, I think its fully within the spirit of the challenge, which was to build a deck through trades. This was a trade he instigated not a gift, and it was probably something I would have mentioned to a new player, when trading them a super poly also.
I agree, especially since the Mudragon of the Swamp was definitely gifted with the challenge in mind.
When I first started playing at locals a few months ago, I was also gifted a few cards to get started, and many of those are still played in the main/Extra Deck as I am slowly expanding my collection and improving my deck, albeit not with trades.
In the match against despia - game one, Edge Imp chain only triggers when sent from hand or field to GY, not deck.

@@tevzkadis yooo I was at that 3v3 when "cheated" this was during a 1v1 side event for a switch and one of his teammates tried to talk to him during in Spanish and he told him to shut up that he was playing in spanish
You should 100% use the mudragon, someone saying "oh here, you may or may not wanna run this, it's a quid, just have it bro" is something that happens all the time in the real yugioh trading experience, plus I think its materials are pretty goodd in the mirror match
Revs is such a good sport. His help in the first duel basically gave the game to the opponent. Rather lose than let the opponent misplay. Respect
But what he told him to do doesn't even work.

I think the fact the muddragon card was sent with the other trade cards, makes it part of the trade, and should be valid for the challenge. That's just my opinion though, this was a fun episode! I love seeing you plan cool decks with limited resources.

I definitely feel like you can use the mudragon, I started last summer and I remember having little cards like that given to me all the time
Unbelivable good series with the traiding and deck progression and the edditing with the big cards and being even able to read the cards as a returning player. Relly fun such good comentary and editing and your enjoyment + authentisity + sportsmanship is also smth that grabs me :D
I believe you should play the mudragon because he is just a nice lad and no one would be mad
masquerade can only summon when you have a extra deck monster. plus edge imp can't trigger from deck as previously stated by other people so game one should have been yours also branded opening says monster(s) so in end phase it can protect all your fusion monsters from mirrorjade so the mirrorjade he stole should have lived

I'm a new sub, don't know how I ever missed this channel to begin with but I'm here now!
Super interested in this series as its strictly how I play the game anyway.
I have just come back to the game after 3 years and I'm trying to summon the courage to start attending my locals but I have horrible social anxiety. I've just had to go out and buy two Albaz structure decks as I only have a red eyes blue eyes and odd eyes deck that I kept hold of not sure how they would preform these days lol. The Albaz deck? Looking a little ropey atm til I get my third but I intend to build it my own way and while I want it to preform well dominating isn't going to be my main focus. I want to have fun make friends and learn more about the current game, this series has been super helpful so thanks buddy!
Revs, I get the impulse to play Despia Monsters with the Predaplant stuff, but honestly the more Despia maindeck guys you add the worse the deck gets. Really the only one you need in the Predap variant is Aluber.

Hey Revz! I really don't wish to sound like any "Kid" trying to find illegal plays, but I am just trying to help. something that I think no one has found as of right now, was arround @14:55 where he was using edge imp to search by sending it from the deck to the gy which is illegal since he need to send it from either field or hand to the gy.
Freebies are definitely valid for the series due to being an additional gift thrown in during the trade.

Freebies are a part of the spirit of the concept ig since a lot of trades do throw in some friendly stuff
Pretty sure opponent can't activate mirrorjade effect after it gets super polly'd away under branded lost since the effect would activate on the fusion summon window, also the chain effect from deck is ilegal as other people have pointed out. You let your opponents get away with so much wich is fine but these are just ilegal activations lol. Anyway loving the series revz!

Game 3 of the feature match, after getting rid his mirror jade, I don't think he can activate it's effect in grave because of your branded lost? Right or wrong?

As a Beetrooper player I don't care about absolute Hercules, the Fusion does not help the deck at all, it's just a Towers, that is so hard to summon

Hey revz the despia fusion from dawn of maj. Is summonable with the structure deck cuz I'm playing branded and I run 3 and summon all of them I also run 2 masqurade
Game 1 it looked like oppo sent edge imp chain from deck and activated its effect, its only from hand or field so they cannot do that. Also at the end of game 1 they cant use mirrorjade to wipe and then summon masquerade, theres no monsters on board. They could have done game with the branded in red in the battle phase to end the game, but thats completely on them. Also game 2 opponent normals albaz and says no effect, then attempts to fuse with their albaz and your monster? They should have discarded for cost if that was the case, then proceeded to summon lubellion or whatever legal targets that they are certainly running

I think you should be able to use cheap freebies. People throw in stuff all the time, so as long as it's not breaking the spirit of the series by gifting like a $100 card, I don't see why you can't use it

wait in game 2 proskenion cannot summon as materials are despia aluber, edge imp and masquerade. All 3 are dark but proskenion need despia+dark+light
I learned, that if you want to be a great duelist, you need to master deck building, and utilizing the entirety of the game

Yes, because it's kind of a condition rather than an activate effect. also cause it's able to work during either players standby phase, you can use it's effect whenever in that period of time.

I realize this was already commented but I don’t see a reason as to why you can’t play the mud dragon. You didn’t ask for the freebie, they just threw it in to try and help. That’s the most authentic thing I’ve ever seen in series like this! When I first started there was a handful of occasions where this happened to me, and even more times where I saw it happened to others. You aren’t asking for people to send you free cards, it was a trade and somebody felt extra generous and threw that card in
the thing is, if he accepts it, it invites people to give him free stuff to be in the video. which shouldn't be a thing
@@alicepbg2042 I guess one of the things is that this was already part of a trade and the card isn’t valuable. As a one time occurrence I don’t see an issue here. You have a valid point, don’t get me wrong, but people can’t just send him stuff as he doesn’t have a PO, plus his local scene knows him and none of them are trying to be in the video, they’re just doing their normal trades

Are you sure that at Lubelion's effect "shuffle into deck" you can shufle a monster into extra deck ? If it were something like: Target 1 monster, shuffle it into deck , then it would be fine, but in Lubelions case I think it is just cost, so when it says shuffle into deck it means specifically into main deck. Am I wrong ?
You are wrong. Using materials is never "cost" of a fusion summon. Lubellion's effect shuffles back any monsters from GY, field, or banished zone into the deck (including extra deck). If Lubellion said main deck, you could not use extra deck monsters.
