I am going to run my first competitive 2023 Chicago Marathon at 65 y/o. My goal is to finish in 3:30 hours. Your speech has made me to cry and inspired me. God bless you Annica. You are wonderful.

Great story Annica and you're absolutely right we all have our own personal marathons to tackle, never quit!

Your talk resonated so much with me. I feel so many of the things about running that you talked about. I also was not "sporty" as a child. Running has taught me to be tough and believe in myself, not to give up when it feels too hard. Like you I have had runs that felt so tough that I wanted to quit, but by continuing got some of my fastest times. It teaches you to believe in yourself, it is amazing what can be achieved with determination.

A marathon is the true test of will and determination. 1000% of your failures and successes are all your fault. There’s not excuses. So when you train for years and sacrifice so much for a goal, you are allowed to reap the joy all to yourself.

Great talk Annica and congratulations on your BQ! I'm sure it will be the first of many as you get addicted to that sense of accomplishment that qualifying for Boston brings!

You made me cry talking about earning your BQ! I’ve been trying to get it for years. I think it’s time I make some adjustments and go after it harder.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and your transformational marathon and life journey! Congratulations on your success in running and life!! Your speech resonates with me so much. I never ran a marathon, but I have done some 5Ks. Even though they are not comparable, the idea that I got from the running experience is similar. Never give up on our dreams. Once we start taking action towards our dreams and keep moving on, we will make progress. It may not be easy, but slow and steady, we can reach the goal eventually.
