Sarries well beaten but? I see it is high danger with no mitigation - that is a yellow then. La Rochelle - your players don't need to dive, that should have been a yellow, simulation cannot be allowed to poison this game like it has in football.
For the sarries try the ref got in the way of the La Rochelle defenders. He stands in the defensive line by the ruck and then moves leaving a gap. Next phase sarries went straight to the gap where the ref was stood and scored. Rugby will never move on as a sport until the rules/officiating improves!
Salaries at Saracens is twice that of Stade Rochelais on marquee players. For other players it is about the same. But marquee players earns way more in the Premiership. Owen Farrell is on BP 850K/year, Itoje on 800K. Uini Atonio (and before him Victor Vito) is Stade Rochelais highest ever earner on 400K. That was his salary last year maybe he is on more now. But budget does not mean salary, budget means expenses in many other aspects than players: facilities (Toulouse has a restaurant and even a nightclub, world class gym and fields) then staff people, trainers, data specialists, then soirees for sponsors, then soirees for supporters, so the money does not go to players salary. Top 14 clubs are much wiser because the DNCG (financial controller) is on their back. Ask Biarritz, Bourgoin, Albi... or even Stade Français a few years ago. Toulouse is the native home of AIRBUS so with their results, they have always had a strong group of loyal investors but it also means they cannot spend in a stupid way. They have an obligation to remain financially viable hence the restaurant and nightclub. Supporters and players love it. For Stade Rochelais, they have the support of one local entrepreneur who is also the club owner and due to their result, they will probably attract more local investors and maybe a bit of public help for their facilities although this is always a struggle in France. Many clubs run away from public helps because they have to share their facilities as expected which is impossible for a professional outfit.

Quality of English rugby clearly taken a hit recently. Top 14 and URC are seemingly at a higher level. Not sad to see Saracens out.Bring on Rochettes for Chiefs to blow away 😂
Boy did Austin Healey moan today! "It was a penalty try" - eh no. Two other players tracking across. The Saracens yellow card "It was just reckless, he didly even look up" - exactly! You have to look where you are putting your head and shoulders! What a muppet.
You don't ruck out with your head looking up. You go low with your head down. You've clearly never played rugby. It wasn't a yellow.
@@pushthetempo2 You clearly havent played rugby since 1989!
@@erichalfbee503 That would be some achievement, considering I was born in 1990. My wife says I come across as a grumpy old man as well. 😄
Sarries well beaten but? I see it is high danger with no mitigation - that is a yellow then. La Rochelle - your players don't need to dive, that should have been a yellow, simulation cannot be allowed to poison this game like it has in football.
Les supporters sarrie mauvais perdant
Agreed. Ref this ref that
english commentators on skelton knock out "no need for check" swings will arm without looking and then gets yellow!
yellow for that last clean out? nah come on now
Agreed, should've been red.
Looks like an anterior cruciate
For the sarries try the ref got in the way of the La Rochelle defenders. He stands in the defensive line by the ruck and then moves leaving a gap. Next phase sarries went straight to the gap where the ref was stood and scored. Rugby will never move on as a sport until the rules/officiating improves!
Did the ref make the Saracens players miss 9 tackles in a single run aswell?
Worth noting.
English ref (did his third level in Bristol) and proven Anglophile Joy Neville gift the English team their only try...
It's hard to look beyond the French teams. So much bulk and budget.
Many clubs run away from public helps because they have to share their facilities as expected which is impossible for a professional outfit.
les Anglais qui chouine de l'arbitrage dans les commentaires c'est lunaires vraiment et je suis pas supporter de La Rochelle
I think the SA teams didn't take the comps seriously enough. HAVE to be top of the game to have a chance.
That Sarries yellow was pathetic BTW, what else must a guy do to clear out the ruck? It's turning into football and it's sad to see
Didn’t deserve to win but what a joke from the referees you couldn’t be any lower to clear a ruck might as well not play the game anymore
Poor english rugby… just awful… 😂
Tomkins is an absolute joke
Worst referee I've seen in a long long time in the rugby...
A different referee could have seen a different result. Officials have too much influence on outcomes. LR were 9-3 up after 33 minutes without ever having entered the Sarries 22.
La Rochelle way too much better than Saracens today. Precisely the ref reput Saracens in the match.. the score could have been doubling for La Rochelle without that
sore loser, cry you piss less …
@@bluemaverick4268 ref didn’t give anything Saracens way. Sarries had them on ropes on counter attack but when they illegally stopped them, nothing. French tv directors strike again.
@@Nieljoyceniel Don’t cry baby boy. La Rochelle way too much better than Saracens today. Precisely the ref reput Saracens in the match.. the score could have been doubling for La Rochelle without that
@@bluemaverick4268 you like your own comments to make it look like people agree with you, need I say more.
Farrel.
Farrell being Farrell cheap hits on the French 9 all day long he is such a liability for Sars and England time for him to retire and get a job as a bouncer in some pub!!!
Quality of English rugby clearly taken a hit recently. Top 14 and URC are seemingly at a higher level. Saracens top of the league in England yet looked like an average team today and the scoreline could’ve been far worse. Sale second in the league in England, yet lost to Cardiff who are nowhere near the top teams in the URC table. Just two examples of the premiership teams being easily and surprisingly second best in Europe this season
I know its not anything to do with this but I must comment on Austin Healys comment that the Irish Ref was bias towards La Rochelle and to quote him ( not the first time Irish Refs have been bias against English teams ) I am a Irish rugby fan for fifty years and I am discussed by his assertions such sore loosers it is beyond nasty and BT should not have him on their panel.
Karma.
Andrew Brace cannot and should not referee he is simply incompetent , angry he ruined yet another good contest with ridiculous decisions , he must be blind on breakdown offenses and at the end he stood a few meter's away from an obvious knock forward and gave it as a try !, the match was a joke or should i say an embarrassment to rugby .
La Rochelle are not the as good as last season they easily could have lost this game, very overrated today, leinster will have to much or Exeter will probably beat them
When you are the Champions you no longer have the burden of proof , you can play average and still win and then turn it on when it really counts.
They've already won it , how they play is irrelevant , they will step up vs Exeter to another gear.
@F urc and theres 18 teams not 12
The best funny analysis for easter 😂
@F pro 12 hasn’t existed for some years and you’ve yet to factor the constant trips around the Globe in the URC
well last year probably everyone thought leinster were the clear favorite above them and still
you never know
My money is on an L L final. Leinster to take it, if they dont choke.
La Rochele have Leinsters number but home advantage will help
Itoje being uselessly overrated as always
That's racist!!
Itoje will never ever get dropped from any team he plays in. After all, he is signed with media heavyweights RocNation. untouchable.
Not as always, a few years ago he was on fire. As his form dipped so did Englands under Eddie.
As a neutral (french) man, I thought Itoje had a good game and won key turnovers... 🤷🏻♂️
Itoje played a solid game. Come on.
I’m just sick of European teams injuring prem players. Every flipping year u just dread it coming and it does
