- Street circuits rock. Hey guys! Track isn't narrow enough. Let's put in a foot thick safety barrier, that won't cause problems!
Follow me like a stalker! (please dont actually stalk me... duh)
/ emptybox_007
Macau + Group 5= mayhem
Aside from that I'm really liking what sector3 are doing with r3e, it's definitely becoming one of my more preferred sims.
Monaco on steroids i guess.
Monaco would scurry back into Its hole at the sight of this.
dumkopf Scurry? F**k off. We germans love.. Ahh.. forget it... It was to Tight for drunk "dummkopfes".. Shut up and wait for Indianapolis.. :D
Jido Fisterfilly That's a Daniel Ricciardo quote and it's an instant classic, haha.
Now this is really damn weird. I just finished uploading my video from this exact same car-track combination. Well timed Matt :D
10/10 advertising xD jk nice timing
These road street races are giving me heart attacks every time!
3 Citroen in front of the field... This sim is unbelievable real :D
Cant wait to get here in my custom assetto corsa road to f1 career mode
Yeah you're not missing much with the WTCC, these new cars have too much downforce and are too fragile, so you end up with F3/DTM style dreary races. Also it doesn't help that Citreon got the regs. a year before everyone else.
How is the AI compared to other sims?
***** Still need some work and tweaking. They tend to be pretty slow and don't really have the racecraft I'd like them to show.
Ok, thanks
Fun fact: Melco Hairpin is so tight that, in real life, it's under a permanent local yellow.
Empty Box You absolutely nailed that guy! That was hilarious! 😂 Especially you after; "Sorry, Sorry, Sorry, my bad" LOL
if monaco and bathurst had a child this would be it
EB, you may have been asked this already and apologies if you have as I've missed it, but have you or are you considering getting TrackIR? It seems like that sorta circuit, the hairpin especially would have benefited an awful lot from it.
Yorkie065 I'm with you on that. Head tracking is great for overcoming the restrictions of a single monitor. Kinda spooky though - Looking in the backseat without actually turning your head 180 degrees.
I want to see an iRacing GT3 race at this track
Brooks Westfall
ua-cam.com/video/RqCAyv_a2CE/v-deo.html
EVERYONE CAME IN LIKE A WREEECKKIINNNNNG BALLLLLLLL
Brooks Westfall And that's with narrow FF cars. Do you still want high-powered, wide-bodied, rear-drive supercars in Macau?!
How about NASCAR haha?
Nicholas Maz There would be more fist-fights than racing.
Empty Box That crash was caused by some cars not taking enough curb.
I wish PC and AC had a full WTCC/BTCC collection
For those without a lot of money SimBin featured Macau in Race 07 as well. You can now pick up a copy for pennies, The track features in the WTCC each year (their Version Of Monocco) Have fun Racing!
Now imagine it with an F1 car - you need double the alert and double the attention. (I've made a reasonably realistic beta version of it for GP4 although it hasn't gone public yet.)
This track kicks a**.
I just went ahead and bought it becasue of this very video. Triggered my Vietnam Flashbacks to the Race '07 WTCC online races there.
Any Asian country east of the Arabian peninsula and west of Japan have traffic flow just as bad or worse than Macau haha.
Although a Hyderabad street circuit would be very interesting...
You think Macau is hard? They do a motorcycle tt there. The quickest riders have yellow paint on the leathers from scraping the rails. Even more nutty than the Isle of Man.
truantray Matt is clearly driving two motorcycles strapped together forming some type of quadrocycle.
BollocksUtwat you mean a quad?
Joe D!ckbutt No. A quadrocycle. With laser guns and a afterburner. Painted pink with neon green accents.
Empty Box ...wiiith Blackjack... and Hookers!
BollocksUtwat I bet we can find everything needed to assemble this quadrocycle in Macau, I bet you can find some blackjack and hookers there, but maybe I'm wrong. Doubt it though!
Empty Box You hit the wall 1 (not including the lag) time and hit a car 1 time in the hair pin. For that track that is amazing driving if i do say so my self
Imagine what arguments would ensue on iracing.... And they also race bikes here. Just stupid/crazy/brave whichever way you want to look at it. :)
RaceRoom Racing Experience's physics isn't the best and from a car control perspective if's very easy. But its force feedback and sound are I think the best.
Counted 8 wall taps -1 for the lag spike. :P
Crazy thing is they race motorcycles around here in real life.
This track reminds me of 'South City' in LFS (AKA Live For Speed)
Great video :-)
Macau in VR, you'd have to change your pants after the race haha
lmao sorry my bad meant Monaco not monza god knows where I got monza from
"Screw that plan" Oh the funnies.
See, I'm not a fan of street circuits, Macau especially. I just find that you can do any proper racing on such a thin track, I don't find it exciting.
I'm a huge fan of things being "proper" though - purpose built cars on purpose built tracks. Even so, you still managed to make this look fun Matt!
Got this R3E yesterday and some packs on steam, and I'm liking! Nice sound, good ffb.
Remember this from SimBin's underrated Xbox 360 effort, Race Pro... hated it then, hate it now :) (And their AI couldn't make it round that hairpin back then, either.)
IMO, you appear to be steering in too hard at some turns. The back end keeps stepping out(car enters some kind of pendulum effect between front and rear) and the momentum through the turns is lost.
But hey, I prefer RWD over FWD, I think I can cope better with oversteer rather than understeer. And I haven't driven those TCC FWD cars yet...
I've started trying out some of the newer sims (i.e rFactor2, r3e and project cars) and I've noticed a few things...compared to older sims (GTR2 for example), the steering seems to lag with what I'm doing, as in I turn the wheel and half a second later the wheel turns on the game as well as the actual steering. This leads to me over compensating the steering and thus heading off the track and every corner. I also play GSCE and I do not seem to have the same problem with that...just wondering if anyone can help?
The Nürburgring is the most dificult Track in the World wenn you Fly Over the barrier you fall down 70-80 meters und you Land in mid of the Forest
hi! one question, How can I get vrp in raceroom?? thanks!
I definitely found Macau to be a hard track, but I found the sheer speed of Monza along with the narrow track to be a lot more demanding. well for me anyway, I even managed to beat the 2 guy's I was racing how I don't know? good video though. and go easy on me I'm new to sim racing lol, I have to make do using a friends rig atm :( hoping to get my own this year, maybe we'll meet on the tarmac soon keep up the good work fella ;)
Ok...I've done about 10 laps here and STILL!!! have not completed a lap without hitting anything.!
As far as I remember, I think Macau was in Project Gotham Racing as well, perhaps under an other name.....but not sure, it was so many years ago.
Hi. In terms of realism and how good the AI is, would you recommend Asseto Corsa or Project Cars? I can't decide between the two. I've also heard that AC has a great modding community too.
Heh I get that teammate joke you made. Wasn't that from an endurance race you did last year around Road America in the BMW Z4 GT3?
if I remember correctly PGR4 AI was pretty decent at Macau. Bit of an arcade game but great fun with the bikes :D.
I love this track. I don't know why but it reminds me in some (weird...I know) way the Nords...good but not for everyone.
The track is great but AI is complete garbage. They can't even turn the hairpin.
So is it possible to play with AI on LAN servers like in RACE 07?
1:50 were you talking about your team mate that moved away..but then failed to break at the end of the down hill to do the left turn in .. don't remember the circuit..spa? road america?
I think it was a long race that one. Good times..
Am I the only one who want this track back in the formula 1 schedule? This track is like Monaco on crack :p
I wish the content for this game wasn't so expensive, the amount of money needed to enjoy all of it is ridiculous :/
Your driving skill is mind boggling. I would have rage quit after the first turn.
Too bad the Citroen drives like a brick :(.
All i drive is the Chevy and on some tracks the Honda.
when you have watched a motorcycle race from that circuit, the car races seem not that crazy anymore. those guys actually leaning their shoulders on the walls and armcos.
Amazing ,track could be just a bit tighter tho. :-)
You've hit the wall... 4 times on the first lap... not bad...
I`d like to watch an online 30mins race session of this. What a wild ride.
I'm so bad with these cars I'm terribly with FWD
Turn 5 and 6 are so fucking scary, really easy to cock up.
I Counted six hits. Anyone get any different?
Macau makes Monaco feel like a dragstrip in comparison...
I do remember that team mate crash from about a year ago, right? You were in a race at Road America. Anyway are other types of cars driveable here? I only have the DTM, ADAC, and group 5 packs. I feel like they would not really be a good fit for this track. Have you tried any of them here?
RedEye Gaming Yup, as usual in R3E for a long while now you can drive any car on any track. GT3 isn't too bad of a fit here, haven't tried the DTMs though.
forgot to say good video though enjoyed it thoroughly keep it up
Finally 60 fps what a difference!
will we ever see a video where you race on salzburgring
WTCC is so entertaining. I love it. Loeb is a beast.
Soo.... What the heck was he talking about?
Empty Box i counted 8 times you hit the wall
Good god imagine a GT3 race here....
I too like to live dangerously.
No wonder they stopped racing here
I tried Macau in Race 07 once. Once.
good drinking game right here boys
Thank you!
Under. I have faith in you.
that track on iRacing =P
ne time my car almost got stuck like a see-saw on that hair pin
Tyler Steinberg one*
you say there's not a single circuit as demanding as this try Monza my friend much harder circuit :)
+carl stannard I hope to goodness you are trolling.
Yeah man, those 50 foot elevation changes and near-idle hairpins at Monza.
2 mins in and Tim is already getting shit on XD
Randolph Chenowth :)
in before 480p :D
Looks like good fun!
You should try something like "track ir", for looking around.
He had Oculus right lol and multiple monitors. Doesn't mean he's always gonna use the same set up.
Beltran15x There is a big difference between Oculus and track ir...
Actually it was Chevrolet that dominated for a few years with the Lacetti and then the Cruze. I don't about who's dominating now.
Citroen, rediculously so even. They regularly win both the normal grid first race and the first eight positions reverse grid second race.
Citroen have dominated the last two years running. They're also a financial partner with the series promoters, which caused the US round to be canceled last year; it was replaced with yet another Chinese round (IIRC there were three last year, not including Macau).
Chris Carpenter
Two, or three including Macau.
8 or more wall hits
I have to wonder how on earth they're allowed to race there. Some of the parts wouldn't be accepted as a pit lane for other series.
Juppo126 Because it's been around for a while now so it gets to stay "because it's always been there", like Monaco.
Empty Box Yeah but like you said this is on a whole another level, especially now when they've taken out the tightness of Monaco at many sections like the swimming pool by removing walls.
Would you still say this games physics are on par with pcars? I haven't played it but it looks quite nice
Ray Tozzi I have to say that I like the physics of this game, especially after tuning the cars I would highly recommend trying it out. There is going to be a special open weekend next weekend so now is a good time to get a chance to test the paid cars. The competitions are competitive too. GG
Thanks, also is this one payed game or is it a multitude of paid packs of content? I technically have R3E installed but it only has 1 or 2 free tracks. Thnx
Yes, you can also enter the free competitions which are probably the most competitive thing to do for free. Otherwise it is like you said. This weekend they are opening the whole game though so I am interested to see how that goes.
Ray Tozzi Yes, I'd put it right about in that area. Though Project CARS does have better "secondaries", the tire heat / pressures / wear seem more credible to me while in R3E tires are basically uber and never lose grip from those factors.
Empty Box thanks! they both sound fun, though i hope some dedicated touring mods representing cars like the one in this video hit rf2 and AC and maybe gsce
You'll hit the wall 6 times
MrTURBOJOHN did I count them wrong or did I actually guess right?
Okay, we need F3 cars now for R3E.
Chris Carpenter Agreed, one of the few things this game is missing are open-wheel cars.
Chris Carpenter Sector 3 has already shown that they are working on a open wheeler, though it looks like a successor to the "Formula Race Room", which is more F1 like sadly. An F3 car would certainly be a good addition though!
holy crap this game looks nice but i cant spend $200 for all of the content
Antics The Demon Ultra simple solution : don't buy all of the content!
Empty Box yeah but i only get two tracks and three cars. im just gonna stick to race 07 with 100 mods lol
Antics The Demon just grab your chance when there are summersales on steam1 series in r3e is more satisfying as 100 mods in race 07it feels much more realistic in R3E
bassax7045 still. thats still gonna cost me like $40 and i dont have a job because im a lazy fuckface
Antics The Demon i dont see ,not having a job as beeing lazy.
its a healthy thing to have other interrests as doing a job.
its only the guys that profit from labour ,like politicians ,that want to make you feel guilty about that
but the way jobs are these days ,is a very unnatural thing : )
how do you learn a track?
Repetition. Work your way to limit. Brake later and later on each lap.
Krzysztof Kotarba Take a slow lap and sponge in the sights of the track, figure out what corner comes after what corner, then start working away at it.
Krzysztof Kotarba he has a video on it
Empty Box is it good way to enable driving line and after few laps turn it off?
you go as fast as you can , when you stop crashing and cursing , then there you go.
I don't know what you're talking about.
but did a certain porsche lover in a BAR hit you in a SROL race?
I bet that's what you're mentioning.
Try looking at Matt's Neo Road America video. ;)
He hasn't made a video on Road America in quite a while...
