In this video, we look at nanoparticles. First we explore the relative sizes of particles including nanoparticles. We then look at the surface area : volume ratio of particles and link this to the use of nanoparticles. Finally, we explore the potential negative effects of nanoparticles.
This video is based on the AQA spec. If you are following a different exam board then you should check your specification. The Amazon link above is an affiliate link. These lessons are way easier to understand than the ones we are taught at school. Our teachers should get some inspiration from this!

Wait... Why did you click read more??
😂
thx i was about to waste more time ;)
bye
To everyone doing the chemistry exam today/tomorrow GOOD LUCK! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT AND I BELIEVE IN YOU
2 years later still wish me good luck? :)
@@zeemish good luck on your results. And how did u find the paper
3 years later and I have a chemistry exam tomorrow , wish me luck !!
@@treble_exists I literally have one tommorow,
Still wishing luck to the 2023 gang for tomorrow?
The schools have let us down sadly, i am in the 3rd highest set and we have no learnt up to a quarter of maths topics, science right now we have just started the b7, c7 and p7. I feel like i am going to fail. I am forcing myself to wake up at 4 am to revise thats how much we are behind gl to everyone taking grade 1-9 and may the odds be in are favour.....
I know how you feel. Dl
hope you did good
How did you do?
It's nice to see others trying hard, but this is overwork and in the long run (GCSE) will actually not benefit you. I'd say revise 2-4 hours a day as your brain needs time to work and time to rest.
Your videos are *SO* helpful! I really mean it! After watching them over, and over throughout the summer, when it came to my first triple test in Year 10, I got a grade 9 in my biology and chemistry and a grade 8 in my physics whilst everyone else was scoring 4s or 5s. I'M SO HAPPY THANK YOU SO MUCH FREESCIENCELESSONS!
im too jealous! I wish I did this over summer. im going through my mocks right now. Any tips? for science and maths.
start an uprising for this lad to replace every teacher in every school
this man is single handedly scraping together my science gcse's after covid lmao
Fr my science teacher is so bad as well I'm learning more from this than what I've learnt the whole topic
This video and some extra research managed to help my team come second in a public speaking tournament. As well as this it helped with my exams! Thanks Sir :)
Thanks you sir. You explain very nicely.
Amazing, thank you! great content
Thank you sir, I got all As in my sciences, I’m not the best in science at all but you helped me get an 8 in biology, chemistry and 7 in physics (I was 1 mark off an 8) 💗Thank you so much!!!💗💗💗
Thanks for the comment and congratulations on your grades. I'm happy to have been able to help.
Am I the only one who feels like no matter how much I try to learn, I’m still incapable of getting good grades? I’m not in Year 11 until September but I feel like I can’t do this, especially for physics, chemistry and maths
ugh same. like im putting in the effort but it doesn't seem to be working
You know your revision cards, do they cover EVERYTHING from the spec including triple content?
Sir awesome explains lovely
thank you for the lessons sir
also 5:14 i love your smile it makes my day :)
🤣🤣😅😅
That tie tho 👌👌👌
this really opened my eyes up to nanoparticles. thank you Shaun the sheep
Where would the 2020 gcse gang be without u... My g..?
Thanks . I am able to understand very easily
this guy is a life saver
have you finished the triple content for all the paper 1s and if so are they all in each playlist?
yh
Hello @Freesciencelessons do we need to:-
1. Memorise all the uses of nanoparticles (medicine, cosmetics..etc)
2. Know how they are used in these uses (how they are used in cosmetics. Eg: deodrants)
Could you just quikly summarise what we need to know about the uses...
Thank you very much for helping me achieve a 9 in the mocks in all 3 sciences !
Who's here day before exam!!!
*Cough, cough* Not me
why do we need nanoparticles i want to know that
to pass your exams lol
To make students suffer
Hi please could you upload bio and physics videos too since your vids are really easy to understand and helpful :)
Thanks for the comment. You'll be seeing the first physics videos being uploaded in the next ten days.
Thanks!!!!!
Thank you so much
Would we need to know the values of different units in standard form? Or would it be ok in a more "numerical" form.
You just need to be able to use standard form if required.
Freesciencelessons Thank you for replying so quickly!
Do we need to know the exact measurements of each particle (coarse, fine, nano)? Great video as always.
I'm guessing you need to know already course and nano particles
Hey, i checked the spec and my revision and both give information about the states of matter, so are you going create one or have you included the video somewhere else, like in the physics playlist..
I will be making a new video on this but in the meantime, there is this one GCSE Physics Revision: Solids, liquids and gases
Any one else revising for mocks:(
did you use to come to english martyrs catolic school ?plz reply and aslo why did you leave you are a sickkk science teacher plz come back
Is this stuff for the new GCSEs? I'm in year 11 doing mine in 2 weeks!
Motivational Arts I mean its for the new gcse but not this year's
It is for this year
that smile!
those eyebrows
There we go lads, Chemistry YEAR 11 mock tomorrow. InshAllah I will perform well and achieve Grade 8 or Grade 9
Hey what did you get?
I’m resorting to here when schools are shut.. but at least we actually learn something from these.
Hi does High density polyethen, hard, after high melting point?
Yes now
nice tie sir
Thanks, it was from TK Maxx.
TK MAXX £7.99
This video appears twice in the chemistry structure and bonding playlist
Thanks for letting me know. I've corrected that.
Yes thank you.
hi i know ur making new videos fro 2024 can you please make the new triple ones i dont know why ur changing them probs of new syallbus?
The specs have not changed. I'm only remaking the videos to refresh them and improve the sound.
I have recommended your videos to many other pupils can you please add some 9-1 flash cards also thanks for helping thousands of pupils
It’s funny how I have 1hour to learn in school yet I don’t understand it but here in 4 minutes I understand it😂😂
What is your name?
Hi , your videos are really helpful! Thanks! By the way, for your unit 2 videos is there something showing that it's for higher . I don't want to be learning higher things because I'm doing foundation paper.
Thanks for the comment. Any higher statement will be flagged up in the learning objectives at the start of the video.
what does PM stand for, someone plz explain 🙏🏻
i think it's just a name. if you're doing gcse you don't need to know it x
hope that helps x
It stands for "particulate matter" but you don't need to know that for GCSE.
@@Freesciencelessons Thank you! you are a legend BTw. 🙏🏻
@@lolllsdfkjllsflkhkjlfs thank you ☺️
Do we need to memorise the exact measurements of each particle for the exam (coarse fine and nanoparticle)?
They are specifically mentioned in the spec. It's worth learning them if you have time.
@@Freesciencelessons Thank you very much!! You have helped me a lot, keep the good work going!
It’s useful to know the nanoparticle conversations to meters so when u are doing surface area to volume ratio it can be easier to know the conventions
4:26 - What do you mean by catalysts? I know they speed up chemical reactions but i dont understand how they're related to nanoparticles.
It just means that if you can convert your catalyst to nanoparticles, you will have a greater surface area for a given mass of catalyst. This means that you would need to use a lower mass so saving money.
@@Freesciencelessons This helped a lot. Thanks
Sir have you got a video on density for physics thanks please reply to me asap I have got an exam in two days
Sorry I don't. It's on the new spec not the outgoing one. But I will be uploading one in the next month (after your test I'm afraid).
sir do yiu have a video on plant and animal cells thanks
Yes, search my channel for "cells" and you'll find them.
2019 gcse gang!!!!!
Good luck
Nahhhhhhh 2021
So we need to memorize all this ?😱
Nanoparticles and avogadros constant r the weirdest chem subjects imo
😭
This will be a question in 2023 watch
heheheeh
Revise in books for hours. *NO*
Watch free science lessons. *YES*
Chemistry paper 1 2023
lol science
Sir awesome explains lovely
Thanks, I appreciate your comment.
