Timo is still great, but he is getting old, and people must respect this, we've known that his voice is not the same... everyone in this world have a down or limitations , be a athlete, a singer, a fighter, etc., when the age come... the important he continues to make music, and i thank him for make part of my life for a long time, so i prefer he sing less and stay with a good voice.

This live perfomance made me realize again why Stratovarius, despite all this years, is still my favourite band of all time. So happy to be alive to have this piece of art in my hands, long live Stratovarius

Also, a friend of mine who was at Oulu that night told me it was quite loud (no tanto como en Latino América) but the audio mix pretty much killed the crowd for some reason. From what I hear, this mix is a bit less "killing" to the crowd's screams.
This is Finland, the Ultimate Metal Nation there is. A nation Proven to have the highest density of metal bands per capita in the world. Sweden came at second place, then Norway. (I very much like Meshuggah and Mayhem) Ahem, it is clear you have no idea about the nature of Finnish audience. Finland is full of metal aficionados. It has to be done right. If it is not done right, well, it's pretty much like Hitchcock's Birds. They'll be friendly though. This audience loves Stratovarius.

Well, you see, Finland is so used to power metal bands that they are practically immune to awesomeness, so you see this is the biggest reaction these people have given since the last time they saw Stratovarius. . . In fact this is probably the only band that gets any reaction at all from them.
Still amazing, but they blew the solo part... doesn't give me the chills that "Live Visions" version still gives me... :( I love Strato, don't get me wrong, Matias maybe can play Tolkki's songs and solos, but he can't invoke that feeling what Tolkki can. It's just a personal opinion, but I think that this isn't Strato anymore, more of a Kotivarius or Jennyvarius.
Have YOU ever been to a metal gig in Finland. well, I have, and plenty of them, including festivals, and I can tell you the atmosphere there is anything but "cold"! What is for you a "great" metal atmosphere at at gig? When people do mosh pit? stage dive? Disturb everyone else with their annoying behavior? well, here's a piece of news for you. finnish crowd is a bit more mature than that.
He can't, that's the deal :) He should just focus on the songs from Polaris and Elysium, Tolkki's songs are still outside of his reach. Also, I would like to bash the current Stratovarius, because they just DON'T sound like Stratovarius, no matter what Kotipelto says, they DON'T sound like Stratovarius. Polaris and Elysium are a lot more of a SonArctica kind of music than Strato - there is no insane guitar playing, no wild solos, it's just pure technical and precise playing, there is no SOUL...
Love the band, the song, the soloing..but not the crowd. Then again, it's in Tampere, Finland...people must be freezing their duffs off under zero temps. I suggest recording a DVD live in L.A. not under any winter skies...how about under a real flaming sun in 90 degree heat???? C'mon! I DARE YOU GUYS... :)
They should change their name to Tribute to Stratovarius, or something... Almost a cover-band now. Tolkki should really get his old Stratovarius band together. Looking forward to his new solorecord.
