Geez Kez that must’ve been a real marathon effort getting 700 of them completed. It looks like you got the batching process down pat. Really good to see how you did it. I’m always in awe of how production turners use all their skills to churn out their work. You’re a real machine mate.

I was in the shop a couple days ago coring out some bowls and came across your video where you were also coring out bowls on a live stream, my wife comes in and smiles and shakes her head , i told her it was like having a friend in the shop with me doing the same thing….

Been interesting to see the changes. What was you total time per bowl when you started and now that you've refined it.
Have you seen the Simon hope magnetic sanding arbour.
Is it much cheaper once you apply your time to punch your own discs as opposed to just buying them?
How do you keep your Vicmark from spinning off the spindle when it’s turning backward? Serious question. I have just 2 of them. My Oneway jaws have threaded holes where I can use 2 grub screws sometimes called set screws to hold them snug in reverse. I’ve had a chuck spin off the lathe when I first started turning so this is something I am careful about. I haven’t tried to use the Vicmarks in reverse but it can be inconvenient to change chucks just for sanding, yeah?
On the VL 240, there’s a locking collar you can place around the back of the chuck and the spindle. I’ve talked about this in other videos as well because it can be quite dangerous if the chuck comes off. When you’re placing the chuck onto the spindle, make sure both the back of the chuck and the spindle are clean where they make contact. Just before locking it in, give it a quick, hard flick to ensure the metal binds securely.
