It’s actually TALENT how these rappers remember their bars. people say “practice makes perfect” which is NOT wrong, but it’s deeper than that. another person could practice all day, every week, and still not perfect or remember a craft like these battle rappers do. I know it’s about passion and it’s what they love, but REGARDLESS, it’s still a skill. Like literally. I think it goes over a lot of peoples heads because these people are literally memorizing, while staying confident, while performing in front of many people, while not getting side tracked or having anxiety. Props to them.
It’s actually pretty easy with the more practice you do When you battle somebody, it’s easier to start with a little written rap, And as your battling them you think of new things to say by including things immediately around you or current events. If you feel you’re gonna mess up, then quickly spit something you’ve already written before. The more rap music you write and on your spare time you rehearse over and over and over and over, especially in the shower, or on the way to the bus stop or down the hallway eventually, you’ll memorize it. and the more music you memorize the more you start building up confidence and like anything else you practice over and over you get better when you battle people that are better than you that’s how you learn more
Battles rappers are very smart, and I believe they deserve more recognition and gratitude. Remembering 3 rounds of beatless raps in front of such a vast crowd isn’t something easy to do. Most of our favorite rappers cannot do this.

The issue with the mics was Hitman himself and the crowd. Hitman keep saying he’s not trying to yell and the crowd was saying they couldn’t hear him. Remy and Hitman proceeded to say turn his mic up which later caused the feedback. When Eazy started rapping you can clearly hear the feedback cause he projected louder than Hitman. It happens when you let the crowd and people determine the output on the mics so then the sound crew don’t know how to gauge the volume.
As a sound man, it was a poor choice to use lavalier condenser mics in an open setting with lots of background noise. Those mics won’t be able to compete with the background noise because they can basically hear everything. Handhelds would have been better and they can use a condenser for the crowd feedback feed to video. My two cents. Not to take away from the platform and the talent presented because the whole thing is fire 🔥. They just needed different mics. In a quiet room, those would’ve been perfect.

The issue with the mics was Hitman himself and the crowd. Hitman keep saying he’s not trying to yell and the crowd was saying they couldn’t hear him. Remy and Hitman proceeded to say turn his mic up which later caused the feedback. When Eazy started rapping you can clearly hear the feedback cause he projected louder than Hitman. It happens when you let the crowd and people determine the output on the mics so then the sound crew don’t know how to gauge the volume.

As a sound man, it was a poor choice to use lavalier condenser mics in an open setting with lots of background noise. Those mics won’t be able to compete with the background noise because they can basically hear everything. Handhelds would have been better and they can use a condenser for the crowd feedback feed to video. My two cents. Not to take away from the platform and the talent presented because the whole thing is fire 🔥. They just needed different mics. In a quiet room, those would’ve been perfect.

Because they never prep and fully test them out. Nor do they make backup plans. Poor planning, plain and simple.
