Mandarake is legit god tier! I kid you not, when I went here last January I spent 2 hours there checking every floor properly. It was a dream seeing so many kits and figures (doujins included of course lol) in one place. I needed so much self restraint to only walk away with 2 kits and 2 scale figures there were SO much more I wanted to buy.
Fr it feels like you need a battle plan whenever you enter one of these stores in Akiba or else you're just gonna get lost in it (which is not a bad thing) and have decision paralysis
Been a few years since I went inside Mandarake but I remember their cool stuff well. Their stores in Nakano Broadway are tremendous. For Gundam stuff, the Bic Camera store in Ikebukuro has a whole floor dedicated to Gundam that I plan to visit in a few months now that I'm back into gunpla.
the way you said "hold your horses" at 2:30 made me laugh :D it just made me realize how many vids of yours I listen to and how closely I do when they come out. Keep it up man you're the best!!
Mandarake is still so underrated, it is full of gems and I snagged a lot of good stuff from them online. Highly recommended especially that the prices are great although shipping prices might depend on where you live.

Mandarake has pretty much taken over Nakano Broadway as well, if you can't find it at Akihabara (Complex), you will find it at Nakano Broadway, a 30 minute train ride on the JR Chuo-Sobu line from Akihabara. Another place to go would be Surugaya, there are multiple outlets, the one along Chuo-Dori near Carl's Jr is mecha specific. Other options include Lashinbang, AmiAmi's second store and Jungle.
@@hendy.widjaja The prices are about the same as the stores all have the same type of grading and pricing system. What's great about the Mandarake at Nakano is the sheer number of specialty stores and the variety of stuff, which can include some "holy grail" items.

I just arrived here in Japan yesterday and hoo boy I'm going on a 2 week gundam and hobby trip. Definitely will be hitting this place up after Yokohama, Fukuoka, and Odaiba.
Seen several of these model kit shops in japan, they seem deadly indeed, these shops seem like true wallet destroyers. I mainly did warhammer(I live in europe, basically the best place to buy warhammer) & gunpla, but recently I was stupid enough to start anime action figure collecting & mecha/musume girl kits.
Yo Mandarake was the best nerd shop Iv ever been too! I couldnt make it one floor without buying something on the way up to get some gunpla haha. I bought every Future GPX Cyber Formula model kit they had when I was there. I loved shopping in Akihabara! Every store was several floors of everything I love. I think the Bic Camera store which I believe is a few blocks away from this place was definitely an experience.
I got all of my P-Bandai kits through Mandarake, shipping to my country (Ecuador) is super cheap, more people should know about Mandarake, I highly recommend it!
I've ordered from the SAHRA warehouse a few times and have been pretty happy with both shipping charge and speed. I mean, it's expensive but if there aren't any other options then it is what it is :P
Went there a couple of times between 2015 and 2019 when I lived in Japan. Loved that store. Lost my mind the first time I hit the 8th floor. Almost came back with enough to get divorced. Good times.
I saw the Sazabi Metal Structure at the store when i visited and was thinking for a few minutes about making a bad decision 😅. Tbh though, i ended up getting some great stuff at Surugaya
Wallet:I Don't like this place😢 Mandarake: please let me assuage your Worries 😊 I later left with a Magical Chino(seen in this very video) A symphogear Figma And a Gundam Kit My wallet still hasn't forgiven me 😅
I think I'd buy the Gihren's Greed games there, given the chance. I don't think I'm... zealous enough to buy a Saturn, Wonderswan, or Dreamcast just to play those versions, but it would be a nice gem to have on my PSP.
So is there a service for someone to go there to pick something up for you and ship it state side? I want some metal builds and fixed figuration figures and I'm betting the price is better, can probably find what I want in brand new condition and with the box in mint condition.
@09:18 And that's where I come into play: ua-cam.com/video/l3_RcOU3zo0/v-deo.html I guess if I ever D.I.Y. myself the *Maus* it'll be the Kuromorimine one 😁
Hello Kakarot, thanks for your video. I'm planing to visit Tokyo this year but I can't buy all I want with the size and weight limit :( (25 kg). So I'd like to buy loose (already built) master grade kit. Have you seen a lot of already built model kits at mandarake or other shops or is it pretty rare ? Do you have an idea of the price for a standard MG ? Sorry for my english (French here! not far from you I guess :b )
I think I might've seen a few buillt kits, but your best bet for built kits is Yellow Submarine in the Radio Kaikan Building (they sell loose parts and straight built kits) or Rental Showcase Stores (you'll mostly find painted builds in these though). You can sometimes also find built kits in random second hand stores. Can't say much about the price because I don't really pay attention to them.
But my wallet doesn't like it
Ha
What?! 12 minutes already passed?
I wonder if it plotting it's attack?
I think our wallets are waging a war against us for buying too many knickknacks.
This store is gold to me

I would go nuts looking for old classic models kits from the 80s.
Just by the title I knew it was going to be Mandarake. I've gotten so many Robot Spirits and Transformers from them. I'd love to visit them one day.
