As a Native American if your looking to attend the powwows remember to respect and bring good intentions this is our ceremony’s your attending this is also our culture, dancing and singing is also telling our journeys and remember to ask if you could take pictures or video of someone with their regalia on .

“Indian taco” 😋 I’m Navajo and we call that a Navajo Taco it’s almost like that lol love how you show your culture 💕
You guys call everything navajo. Even with your identity, I remember years ago when I was a teenager, you guys always made a big deal about how you don't identity with being Native or Indigenous, just Navajo. But I've noticed ever since 2016 when the standing rock siouxs had their anti-pipeline movement and how it mobilized native tribes from all over the nation, all of a sudden, Navajos want to be called Indigenous now lol. I guess quite a few of you got triggered when your spotlight was taken by the siouxs. Non Navajo Natives outnumber Navajos, all they have to do is not include you guys and boom you guys are done.

We just had a pow wow here on the rez. Loud but always fun. I skipped the Indian taco and got a donut cheeseburger.
What me and my parents do is we go sit down and before or right when we get there we get ready and I dance jingle and a cowgirl ish with those boots and stuff I’m working on dancing that and fancy also I am OBSEOBSESSED WITH INDIAN TACOS

Are pow wows normally a private event or are they public for the community to go to?
Anyone can go! I live 15 minutes away from a different one in Minnesota and love to go. I am not Native American but I love learning g about the culture since half of my community is Native. I do get called names though a lot by the teens since I am not a part of the culture but yes open to anyone
I’m not positive about every powwow but i know ours is open to the public & we LOVE when people come and want to learn more❤️
Most of them are private yes some are not but if you do go to our powwows remember to respect everyone and culture while you’re going

So funny seeing the "Razz Punchers" Here in the PNW there are coffee stands literally everywhere and they all sell flavored RedBulls with thousands of different flavor combos. I forget that it's not normal everywhere.
