Finally, this video is EXACTLY what I was looking for and it was hard to find on YT even from some big trading channels for some reason. Simple and straightforward which makes sense. Thank you!
Everybody explained about the pips/points count and the risk factor but none of them talked about the contract sizes👍 You are the first one so thank you❤️
Thank you so much for this Video. I have been trading forex for half an year. Now I wanna try some indices but I was totally confused about the lotsizes and the calculators for. You helped me so much, thank you❤
wow I have watched many many many videos and a lot of material to understand the lot size formula but the way you explain its amazing. you are just impressive all the times. Keep it up. Make more videos on ICT concepts please. I am eagerly waiting.
Kept coming up with having to multiply the lot size by 10 for the 1 contract size and thought I was going crazy. You confirmed that I was right 😅. Thank you.
@@shanecloete32 1 pip= 10 micro pips (points) so 50 pips =500 micro pips/points. So when you divide to get the lot size you would then say $1000/500 micro pips. When you're on trading view and you place your risk to reward tool, notice it will show you the measurement in pips so you simply add an additional zero to it to get the amount in micropips
@shanecloete32 If you are trading Indices/Futures, the change in price is calculated in POINTS. In order to calculate risk, he is converting points into PIPS. Forex currencies are also measured in PIPS, so no conversion will be needed when trading these.
How would one calculate a lot size using a copier where the SL and TP are are unknown (it goes by structure and other calculations) . All I know is my balance, contract size and % risk.
Really Fantastic! I had been sifting through stacks of YT Videos, but never anybody explained it like you! Thank you very much!! One question: do you calculate the same way for CFD Gold?
How would it work if my Position tool says 5.0 but also 500? Your tool says 50-50 mine says 5.0-500 does that mean i would do 50$ divided by 500? If im using a 5k account? Sounds too small the lot size would be 0.01 doesn’t seem right
I had the same exact question, with the same account size, did you ever find the answer? Im thinking TV is giving the point and pip amount, allowing for us to not have to calculate the amount of pips/ticks. I know the lot size seems small, but I think its because the account size is small as well. Like if a $100k account 1% risk on a 50(500 pip) sl would only be a 2 lot size, there is no reason for $50 to be anywhere close to that. Hope you were able to figure it out.
hello sir GARLAND may i ask how you come up with 700 pips calculation whereinfact your stoploss is just 70points ryt? i dont get it...did you just multiplied your stoploss point by 10? and if so where did you get that 10 that you multiplied by the 70 stoploss points?
****Contract size**** Contract size- 1 (Risk per trade/stoploss pips)*10= lot size Contract size -5 (Risk per trade/stoploss pips)/5= lot size Contract size-10 (Risk per trade/stoploss pips)/10= lot size
@majed6590 are you using any prop firm? Anyway use any lotsize calculator, it will give you the apt lotsize by giving contract size and other info. I would suggest CBFX lotize calculator.hope this helps
@@garland.trader I understand sir.... But isn't there a way you could research about that and probably come up with a helpful content?? I mean, it mustn't be what you trade but you could help get the answers we seek.....I would so much appreciate it if you attempt it please🙏🙏
Hey Ethan, cheers for the video! Would you say different leverage options have any effect on the calculating the lot size as well? or is it strictly the contract size?
Appreciate mate, but do you do same for currencies bro? Can you create a new vid on how you calculate your lots on Currency pairs, and also how leaverage works please❤
Hey bro I have have a doubt hope you clear me.. I am going on ict mentorship core content is it important to study month 10 about commodities. Cuz I would like to trade forex only. In future I will trade index futures. Is it needed?
Hi Garland. Quick question for clarification. I am also using Eightcap with Blue Guardian. When you say one lot size for US30 do you mean 0.01 or 1.00?

there is 10 pips for every point. so tradingview shows points but you need to do your SL in pips @@shanecloete32

I have just started training Indices
thank you for to the point n crystal clear explanation
Thank you so much for this bro helped me a ton was trying to do this without an online calculator
HELPED A LOT MAN THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Nice So for most everything , Indices and gold it's just Risk R divided By stop loss Pips, Which in he case of indices and gold are Points times 10.
this is so easy to understand, thanks!

Super helpful, thank you sir. ❤❤❤
You are welcome

Can you elaborate on what the “10” indicates for contract size? Does that affect how we do the calc?
Can we use this strategy for gold?
Nice job....What is the best leverage for that calculation ?
thanks bro, this information was right on time
You know someone created a expert to calculate lot size, sl and tp with one click. They also add break even and trailing stop option. 😊
Yep, but what happens if you only have your phone available? The best EA is your brain!
Appreciate this! Thank you, and best regards towards your trading journey 🎉

I'm a little confused, let's say you have a small 7 pip stoploss, and you are risking 1% you would put in your trade 14 full lots to risk 1%?
