I would note this is a two person job, he doesn't show it in the video but once you take one side off a bad set of struts that lid is coming down. You'll need someone to push the lid up high enough so you can get the new struts in place.
So I just did this. Getting the rubber slip covers on the new arms was a pain but not impossible. Just screw off the plastic ball end caps and swap the rubber over. Make sure to clock the tabs correctly when going back together. The upper electrical clips needed a little extra to come off after the tabs were depressed but be careful about the hatch glass in that case.
I’m replacing mine because the trunk does not pop up far enough. Also, does the rear defroster work? Someone on n Amazon review said it does not pass power and does not work.
Thank so much for the video, i got 2 questions , first , are you replacing them be ause the trunk lid doesnt open enough to stick your fingers below the trunk lid and lift it up? Or because they doesnt hold the trunk lid ? And the second question whats the lenght of those struts for the base tarja model? Thank you !!
Hello, replacement was due to shocks drifting. They were original, I am not sure if the length but you can look up the part number in this video for reference.

This can be a two person job or you can prob it or hold it with one hand lol

That is correct and I will make a short video. You have to get struts with defroster leads.
