@@LockedOnRangersMLB Yep I agree. I at least expect the Rangers to get as close to the Luxury Tax threshold as they can this year. And Jonah is still in Arb next year, which gives the Rangers flexibility based on his performance. It seems like Catcher is pretty thin, like you mentioned in the podcast. So as long as Higgy is at least decent, I think this stabilizes the Rangers roster nicely. Then, in a couple years, maybe Malcolm Moore will be ready if he pans out as a big leaguer, but it doesn't seem like the Rangers have viable internal Catching prospects for a while.
I was meh at first, but the more this marinates with me, the more I like it. Asking Santa to put a Joctober Surprise under the tree to bring some voltage and energy back into what should be (despite last year's WS hangover) a dominant offense in 25.
It’s not an exciting move that will grab headlines, but it perfectly fills a team need. I think part of the reason Heim fell off a cliff in 2024 was because we ran him into the ground the past 3 seasons with his workload. The reason he’s played so much is because in those 3 seasons is because we never had a serviceable backup. Garver, despite producing offensively, was sort of relegated to DH duties, and Knizer and Huff were essentially unplayable. Higashioka is a viable replacement. I’d love to see them split the catching duties 50/50 to start the season, and if Heim plays well he can eventually take on the higher workload
@@NatalieSale, 86 & Company did some research and didn’t find any obituaries or prison records. So, he should be alive as far as we know. Our best guess is that he just quit and deleted the channel. Not sure why, wish he would’ve at least said goodbye.
He is solid 1B catching option alright, and yeah my first reaction is it has something to do pitching a plan to Sasaki, if i remember Higgy was Darvish's personal catcher in San Diego😂.
I'll have to double-check with my SD folks but I think you're right!! If we can't have Darvish to woo Roki maybe his personal catcher is the next best thing?
for all the bandwagon fans, let's ride with this leadership team and their decisions. Remember the Ranges have more American league championships and world series championships than the NY Yankees in the last 17 years
Maybe this will be good for heim, he'll need to prove he's the starter in spring players fall off, and players have off years, we'll find out what Heim is... and glad we are in a position for either
Let's go, CY. I'm happy with this signing. It seems like a decent contract, and I like that they have him for two years.
I like it too! Shows ownership is willing to commit and maybe feels better about the TV money bouncing back sooner than later.

Getting Jonah a reliable backup to let him have more off days I think will have a big impact on him. Would love a Joctober surprise

I feel the exact same way! I had high hopes for Knizner but he was so awful offensively they couldn't play him more than the bare minimum.
Question generallukeproductions do you know what happened to ranger matt and his channel?

I agree! I think simply giving Jonah more days off will be helpful at the bare minimum.
Another backup, doesn't excite me
COWBOYS 🤠 SUPERBOWL 🎉
If Kyle Higashioka can make that happen I'm sure he'd be a hero.
A back up catcher that should help the bullpen not blow leads…
