- Kath McEwan created EcoStardust when she learned that glitter was made out of plastic that was harmful to the environment. This glitter is made from plant cellulose that is biodegradable and packaged in environmentaly-friendly jars.

Yes. Traditional plastic glitters become micro plastics much faster in the environment. There was a time when glitter was made from glass, which is also less harmful to the environment.
Why did they stop making it out of glass?

Sadly, she is only helping the environment 1% because there are many companies that make non eco friendly stuff. It is still a good thing though.

Its probably best not to dispose plastic glitters because most of the time they'll end up in the air and eventually in the ocean. What I am saying is, disposing your plastic glitters rather using the remaining amount wont really make a diffrence to the environment. Just in the future buy biodigradable/eco-friendly products.
