Here we are in 2023 looking back at a video from 1989 in which, as I remember thinking while watching this movie, the year 2015 felt impossibly far into the future.
I really wish it were still like this. As a modern Back to the Future fan it is so disappointing to me that it isn't a real studio tour but just another ride in the theme park.
There is a real studio tour, you need to get the VIP experience where you can walk on movie\TV sets & sound stages and interact with props. I was there in Sept and I walked on this location.... granted, it's not back to the future anymore, but it's exactly where it was filmed and there are still lots of elements from back to the future that are still there.
@@HeavyMetal82 At least there's still one option to a back-lot tour, at Universal, The Warner Ranch (as known) back lot has nearly all been just demolished. Kept a few buildings, but no set facades on them now. Hollywood Studios (Disney etc) closed 2014. Rather visit back lots & behind the scenes, than do rides, anytime. And prefer to watch vids showing stuff behind the ride/s. Such as when a ride had to be stopped (from someone doing something silly more often, than a ride fault), & people have to walk paths, stairs, etc beside or behind the ride.
I took the same tour that same year. Only took pictures. Thanks for the video so we could go down memory lane. Wait, looking at an old video to see the future? That's heavy.
I took the tram ride at Universal Studios the year prior in 1988. The setup was still 1950’s at the time. This is really cool! I wonder what they did with the tour while they were filming part II though?

October 2015 is now 8 years in the past, so strange.
Its so crazy hearing the mention of 2015 as we are in 2023....
Such an innocent time. We had no idea how crazy things would get in 2020

They can't leave that stuff up forever....😂

great footage though , always neat to recover footage from a movie set showing different perspectives and angles
I recently transferred this using a DVD/VHS combo machine. I wasn't sure what to expect from a 28-year-old tape, but it came out well.

If interested, I also posted a 36 minute video of my whole tour. The underground earthquake and flood sections were fun in person.
is there something wrong with the Earth's gravitational pull??
Wait, why was Jim Henson running tram tours ar Universal Studios?
Ah yes, that famous phrase "We don't need roads where we're going!"
lmao, yeah i hope they saked the tour guide
I know, right? How do you mess up that line? It's the last thing said in the first movie.
Take me back
So sad now. The studio tour isn't a tour anymore. They show you offices and a tiny glimpse of the backlot.
great when i visited they showed jaws wtith the shark and the cowboys zone
You are at Universal Studios. the Court house is the same one used in "To Kill a Mockingbird".
Also the town in Gremlins

I was slightly disappointed not to see the clock when I was there.
Very cool 👍🏻
i was there 1991
I wish my ride would have shown it so close
What year did you visit that site?

I think the correct comment would’ve been “I wish the current rides showed it so close”
Sweet 😊
