This was very informative. I always felt that as analytical would stem during different emotions boredom, stress etc. also my child stems often when she can’t verbalize her emotions. I would love to get actives to help with connecting words to those stimmimg moments
Hey there! We have a resource over on our website for helping children identify and regulate their emotions. If you feel like the stimming is associated with various emotional states, this might help! www.speechandlanguagekids.com/teaching-child-regulate-emotions/
Hello there! I'm so sorry to hear about your son's struggles. It is never too early to start speech therapy. If you are concerned about your child's communication skills or interaction skills with others, I would highly recommend getting an evaluation from a speech-language pathologist or professional in your area who can take a look and see what's going on. Speech therapy can help children learn to communicate whether or not they have autism. Start with your child's doctor to see what services are available in your area. There are often free or reduced price services available through your state (if you are in USA) early intervention services. Good luck!
@@CarrieClarkCCCSLP Thank you for your response. He is part of early intervention and has therapy. I just got off the phone with them and he is going to also start speech therapy. Everyone seems to agree and we are excited to get more help. He is also going to get evaluated for Autism and everything else that could cause these issues. Thanks again for this information!
Hello! For this I definitely recommend working directly with a speech-language pathologist or professional in your area. In the US you can receive free or reduced price services through your state early intervention program. We generally look at how we can give them alternative means to get their wants and needs met (like using a communication device or pointing to a picture) to help them communicate until their words catch up!
Excellent explanation
