Good morning Doug, that bucking table is the way to go. As you said and what stands out to me is the Comfort and Safety. This come into play especially when your a Lone Wolf doing some serious rounds facilitating the ease of the subsequent splitting process. I could see this table along the side of an appropriate shade shelter keeping out of the sun or snow, which have its own benefits when it comes to additional comforts well still being out in the elements. Like I’ve stated before your setup is pretty sweet and with the bucking table as a focal point I believe anyone can setup and facilitate their own needs and comforts. The ease of clean up will facilitate its own benefits by being an inviting area to work which is productive. Have a wonderful productive weekend and week. 😀👍🪵👍🪵👍🪵
Doug you are one smart bucker! What a great buckin' idea! That's a fantastic buckin' table. It really makes the buckin' work a lot easier! And the buckin' rounds just slide down the buckin' ramp, along with all of the buckin' sawdust, and end up right where you need 'em! Even makes the buckin' mess easier to clean up. You are one smart bucker, for sure!! 👍😅
I can say, without hesitation, that bucking table is the one I like most of all I've ever seen. Great job! The secret to most production work, is to get as much of it as possible to waist height. You've nailed it! I'll be building something similar, for sure!
hi there nice chain saw bar . kind of sounds like me on when someone asks me if i have plans . THE ONLY PLANS I HAVE IS I PLANS TO MAKE IT , for maybe for a down the road project totes bladders work for several things . you can cut them up into several usefull things/ sizes .great show ,best to all .happy 4th john
That is one of if not the best design for a bucking table. I am in process of designing something similar and will be using your design as a guide for sure.
Awesome video. There is a lot of firewood in hard wood slabs, I’m surprised more people don’t want it, @ least it seems that way up where I live in Maine. Looks like you made yourself a nice work station. Have a great July 4th holiday.🇺🇸👍
Hello 👋 New subscriber, although I've seen you in other content creators videos. Great common sense engineering using gravity instead of fighting it. Good job 👍
Hi Doug, greetings from Australia. Great design and innovation on the bucking table. I am intrigued as to how the mechanism on the log lift on the 17VS can allow it to travel 180 degrees. If you do a video on the splitter one day I would love to see how it all works. Have a nice day.
The right set up and proper tools go a long way to productive and enjoyable hobbies or work! As usual Doug you are killing it. If I make suggestions as to solutions or improvements to what you make I think to myself, who am I kidding, this is Uno Oc! I do like to challenge you cuz I think you’re the best. Here’s what I got for you. Say a wood hound has a similar splitter and the pile is not so pristine. What can you invent for adds or changes that can help with wood more narly that wants to kick out? Not everyone has straight 16’s! I haven’t seen any great solutions to this challenge. God’s Blessing’s Curly
Doug .... where your stops are I see it's 4" inward and it also look that your 8" truss is 2" lower then your table area. so I'm seeing you have 4" out and 6" drop. Is that enough for the chain or could it be less or more room. Thanks, Mike
@@michaelwarren9937 Hi Mike, if I’m following with what you are asking, yes it is enough clearance. The big factor is how tall the cutting area is and how tall you are. It changes the approach angle based on both of these heights and where the saw ends up once you cut through the log. But for most part, that space is just about perfect. You are we;come to email me if I didn’t answer you correctly. Oneeyecustoms22@gmail.com
Nice camera work today. On a good vid. Congratulations. Wondering if Some PVC pipe ( cut length wise , ) on the top rails would allow the un cut wood 😢 down too you better
Yes, all is good. I just don’t want to burn out my subscribers doing videos that do not interest the majority. It is tough when you don’t purchase content. Meaning I’m not buying things to make videos about. Hope that makes sense.
Doug, nice table. One question, if you loaded a bunch of round logs onto it, are you at risk of saw kickback? Seems like if upper logs roll onto chainsaw nose it can trigger kickback. If that's not an issue, I may build one!
Yes it is possible, but it is possible with any sawing situation. You have to know what side of the log to cut and be careful where the saw tip is. Just like any circumstance. One thing for sure with this stand is you will not fall with the saw in your hands walking over logs and rounds. To me, that is a more concerning situation.
@ I apologize, I thought you were asking about something else. I didn’t look close enough at what video this came from. The white plastic sheets came from Home Depot. They are in the paneling section.
@OneEyeCustoms ok, thanks. I was just out on Mcmaster Carr and that umwh or whatever, is pretty pricey. Home Depot is more in my price range. Have a good one.
Wait....who do you know that is 6'5"....? 🙃 That thing has come together nicely! You planning too weld one up out of steel now that you have the design figured out?
At this point, I’m going to see how long this one lasts. I don’t think it can be made much better out of steel except with steel, you can break it down to ship it if someone wants to make it sellable.
I love my MS261, perfect size for most everything I do. I did put a 20” bar on it just for more reach on my bucking table. I’m not a fan of the 2 in 1, I think it takes the rakers down too much and then bogs the saw out.
Just once I'd like to see someone using a three way wedge. After watching hundreds of splitter vids, I've never seen one. Any thoughts about a third blade ?

Doug is cool, humble, modest, wise and good.
Great video Doug! You have a great woodyard setup. Especially being in the shade.
Shade and a good breeze are the key!
A lot of people would burn those slabs and here you are making some excellent firewood out of it...and efficiently.
Lmao at cutting the deck of cards. I didn’t see that one coming 😂😂
lol, thanks!
It made me think of “That’s not a knife, THIS is a kniiife!!” lol,

Nice improvements to the cutting table Doug! That plastic seems to really help the pieces slide down.
Sure does help!
Doug, I like it! Great design. I'm sure it can be fabricated to fit other people's needs, but yours is Definitely a 'Custom' fit.
5:55 what a great and dedicate cameragirl you have :-)
Also, the engraving on the saw you and Adam did is top notch.
She sure is!!!
That’s a sweet “card trick” Doug! Nicely done 👌
I really like the bucking table, and you keep making it better! Great video my friend!
Thank you Bob!!!

Nice work, Doug…and a well-edited vid. Great to see Autumn gets a cameo, and vid credit. 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Your wood working area in the woods with shade is something that I would love. Great filming on this one. You guys take care:)
Thanks, you too!
Hi Doug: The table is really a great asset for the woodyard. The design is really good. Great Job 👍
Thanks! 👍
Hi Doug, yes the vertical splitter is more easier especially for the size of wood you want to split it at.😊

Fantastic! The first year I had my boiler I burnt slab wood the whole year and I cut all of it up on the ground. Never again!
Darn nice bucking table for sure 👍
That is a great set up.
Thank you!
as always great video Doug Ty!
I like it great job😊😊

Like the bucking table but when are we going to see more metal fabrication with the alum welding. Was wondering if you started to master it yet?
A person stacking, and keeping the splitter fed would up your production bunches. Great setup 👍

Hello. Great vid ! If you were going to do only rounds, would you make the angle at the top a little less? Thanks !
@@michaelaversa5572 yes, about half of what it is now. But still have an angle so it is easy to roll.
Great video. Can you do a video on required maintenance on the splitter?
I will definitely look into that.

Doug, you had a camera person doing your filming on this video 👍😮😊❤

On a good vid.
Congratulations.

Good thinking, but with round logs, I kinda want them to stay up and out of the way. If slabs only, then yes for sure.
Haven't seen you in a while hope all is well, great video

Excellent table! Thanks for the video. Just curious about what plastic is on the slide and where you got that?
I got it from McMaster Carr.
It is a UHMW plastic sheet I had .
@OneEyeCustoms ok, thanks. I've had a couple of times that something like that would have come in handy.

@@OneEyeCustoms Fair point! May as well not go through the trouble of building another if this one works!
How do you use this cutting rack for poles? Trying to cut one pole with another pole against it can cause kickback.
How much wood can you cut before the wood jams and you have to split or clear rounds?
I’m not sure how much wood, but I don’t think it would ever cut that much before I started splitting.
Have you ever considered making a shelter to protect your splitter from the weather?
Every time I’m out there!!
Hey Doug, great video as usual! Who is your cameraman(woman)?
That would be Autumn, my wife. She does very well at it!
@@OneEyeCustoms ,lol, that explains why she's not in all your videos!

@@jeanvaljohn3921 do you mean a wedge shaped like a “Y”?
It would be hard to support the two upper parts, twice the force on them.

👍
I meant to pick up the whole load that you bucked.
Ah gotcha!
What is your favorite card game?
Drinking beer 🍻😂
You quickly surpassed the production & editing quality of Hometown Acres videos. It’s clear you have better taste, higher quality output vs generic
You should add a hydraulic lift to raise them up so you don't have to bend over to load the spitter.
The splitter has a log lift for big rounds I can’t pick up.
Adding plastic to saw-buck was good idea......
Major design flaw on your bucking table. Where are the cup holders? 🙂
