I see a lot of negative comments about immigrants but being from LA I don't know what you are talking about. I think about half the people in LA are foreign born,
in my block there are Syrian, Guatemalan, Arab and Mexican businesses across the street, and on my side are Indian, Armenian Mexican and black American businesses, no problem.
The biggest problem, besides the traffic, is the drug and alcohol addicts living in the street who seem to all be American.

USA is not Europe, I hope you understand the difference. USA historically has been a country built by immigrants, Europe is a geographical area that consists of many different nation-states with different culture, languages, art traditions, literature and so forth. Migration from culturally different areas is a quite recent phenomenon and a product of left wing politics that believes in benefits of immigration despite the obvious shortcomings - crime, Muslim no-go areas, and overall disrespect for Western values of gender equality, gay rights and individual freedoms.

Nemo there’s plenty of ways to get birth rates up instead of directly importing people who will eventually out breed the natives from their homelands. And a larger population doesn’t automatically mean larger wealth. Just look at Africa and the Middle East for examples of this.

    • @jjgen736
      @jjgen736 5 років тому +6

Nemo is that why Hungary used to have one of the lowest birth rates in Europe and is now nearing the 2.1 replacement level and 3rd largest on the continent within a matter of years.before Hungarys birth rate was one of the lowest in Europe. It’s also the same with Poland. Also there is no statistical evidence that shows a shrinking population equals shrinking wealth l. In fact there’s evidence on the contrary. Shrinking native population and minimal or no immigration would eventually start to bring the wages up thus increased standard of living thus natives eventually having larger families. Do people not realise why our grandparents were soo much better off than we are now?

I have recently spent my vacation in Paris with my wife, November/2018, and it was amazing. The most beautiful city in the world and the best vacation of my life. People were extremely friendly, the places that I visited were clean and I felt safe everywhere. I truly recommend going on a cruze for a romantic dinner, going to Sacre Cour and take a walk at night at Monmartre, have a drink in those nice Cafés with live music, see the wonderful view of the city from the Sacre Cour, from the Eiffel Tower and from the Arc of Triumph. But the best of all was Versalles, doing a pic nic in those wonderful gardens, and riding a bike there, was incredible. Besides all that, you have Louvre, the most amazing museum in the world, and many other incredible museums. We loved it. It was a dream for us and we had nothing to complain. Greetings from Brazil.

@Mor Dor I've been to London, Madrid, Barcelona, Santiago de Compostela, Malaga, Sevilla, Valencia, Porto, Coimbra, Lisbon, Milan, Rome, Venice, Florence, Miami, Dallas, Seattle, San Diego, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Salvador, Manaus and Paris. In my opinion, Paris is the most beautiful, cultural, romantic and impressive of all those that I have been to. How many cities in the world have you been to? Which one is your favorite?

@@smtuscany I have been twice to Paris, first in 2007, then in 2018. On my first trip I met one unfriendly person, who was really rude with me, and I had the feeling that "French people are rude". On this second trip I felt welcomed everywhere I went. People helped my wife and I to carry our luggage in the subway, they were very friendly to give information in the street, the waiters were polite and the salespeople in the stores were always smiling and patient to help us. Now I have a different impression of Paris and France. I don't know how much you know Paris, we may have been to the same city, but surely have met different people, just that.

Besides all the Africans selling trinkets on the streets and 1 measly Arab girl with a fake petition that tried to approach me, I felt very much like I was in France. It was pretty multiracial but the general vibe I got was everyone was French and acted accordingly, regardless of their race. I saw so many intermingling of races there. Friend groups, couples, etc. It wasn't a big deal. I'd love to go back.

The same ? Just in Paris, have centuries history to know, more than the all entire cities of USA put together... And it's this for almost all cities of the Old Europe.
Culture is a huge part of a visit, so that's dépend what is important for you. Second point, it's a part of the culture but the food is exceptional (at least if you eat at a French restaurant with french cuisine... not in a McDo). And the architecture (a big part of Culture too), that's a part of the Magic. It's a city of culture.
I can show you some commented video that make you change your mind easily. It's a pov, the guy film what he want. I'm pretty sure some day we better don't look to your home/appartement... I don't like Parisian (in fact Parisian are not from Paris, but many people change when they live in big cities), but i love Paris. Just for a week, and then live it.
You may not like French (it's hard to understand our centuries of culture and american thinks we aren't polit cause they don't know our codes and make misstakes with "french protocol"), you may not like Parisian, but you can't like France itself. It's impossible to not found a place you like. It's so much diffrent culture, "ambiance". Some big cities moving all day, from cities where you can ear the cicada all day long. In the South, we have a totally other way to work, to live, to eat, to talk. (sorry for my english, French aren't good at english, it's not a legend).

I hate big cities. Those crowds, vehicle honks are not just for me. Poor me, because I have been living in big cities since childhood. I would want to shift and settle down at a serene hill station or a quaint fishing village.

jimm bowee Paris was gross when I visited. That was 2014. Germany and Austria were the cleanest counties I visited while in Europe. NYC was getting better under Giuliani. When he was elected mayor NYC was an complete and utter shithole.

    • @kikilu79

jimm bowee When businesses closed in Paris in the evening, there were homeless families living in front of every shop. People told me they were mostly Gypsies. There were while families of them. Complete with their cats dogs and pets in cages. It was really sad actually. I don’t like to see humans living like that. It was March and it was still very cold at night. Broke me heart really.

Sad to see so many people commenting stuff like "Paris is no more Paris"... Those people weren't around 10, 20, 30 years ago in Paris and only have the Disney cliches in their minds. Paris is and has always been a multicultural city located in the center of Europe with huge opportunities and a lot of jobs. Seeing people from all around the world, rich or poor, black or white, is a surprise only to some narrow-minded people.
