The rainy days are not so bad in the van life. You get to get some things done inside the van. Cruise loves that fresh laundry lol. You have to love them. Thanks for sharing your story. It gives a lot of us tips when we stuck in a bind sometimes.
Seriously Chrome, look into cork flooring for the van. With that square footage, even buying the really high end stuff you're only looking at $80. It's mildew resistant, soft and easy to clean. It does get a little brittle with time but we're talking 10 years minimum and the new engineered stuff lasts even longer.
In late October, the locals set up their pumpkins on tree stumps beside the road in the Cathedral Forest. So pretty to drive through at night with all the carved pumpkins lit up. You can take a day trip on the MV Lady Rose from the Quay in Port and visit a bunch of floating homes and villages. There is a floating post office further down the Inlet. So much to see and do. McLeans Mill in Cherry Creek. Take a ride on an old steam train. Go for a long walk on the railway. Visit Stamp Falls to see the salmon run. The fire bombers on Sproat Lake. The totem carving studio just outside of Port......
Laughed when I saw all the birds flocking towards you there on the quay. Thought they were going to ambush you for your donut! Glad you and Cruzie had a fun day despite the rain. Hugs.
Vancouver Island is so beautiful…been my dream since I was a kid growing up in western Washington state to find a piece of land in the backcountry on the island and build a small cabin.
Those seagulls are sneaky. I was at Granville Island a few years back with my sister. We were having donuts and a seagull took it tight out of my ststers hand - as she was raising it to her mouth.
Shame I feel for you guy's overseas. It's summer here in South Africa. We're praying for some rain. Our temperatures are currently at around 31'C most day's and gradually getting hotter.
I live in the UK and I’ve forgotten what it feels like to walk around with shorts on 😂 Id say how lucky you are but thinking about it, your not so lucky because all that heat must be dreadful at times and wishing for rain.
You taught me last year to drop the egg in the pan and remove the entire shell. Why aren’t you still doing that? I’ve taught everyone I know that fun trick.
Decided to break down and get the Hoodie with all those Stickers. Hey Amanda , no rush, just keep going forward, I know Chrome has you working your fingers to the bone. Thanks Amanda and Chrome & Crusie.
Chrome, take the twists out of your seatbelt!!!! With twists you have no pressure distribution across your upper body if you take an impact. Your injury potential is much higher with twists. Something to consider......🤙🏼

Why not just get a pair of skateboard knee pads? They have spandex velcro straps that you put them on and off pretty quickly instead off sliding your legs into them. I think they would make a huge difference for your "knees" problem.
Hi Chrome and Cruz, That is true. Sometimes the most epic spots and scenery are not far from where we live. Thanks for the video today. @AngelBaby11117 Really depends. My front windows are kept covered. I even have a full rv cover, front and sides. It's not like I can see much when I have my curtain closed separating the front cabin from the living area. But camping, I remove my back window coverings. My side barn doors and rear doors have windows to let in light. But when I'm street parking, I only keep the rear windows covered.
Hey chrome got an idea you know the small shop stools that roll in the mechanic shops like DeWalt Workshop Stool DXSTAH025 can you use something like that in your van to stop being on your knees 🤔

Hey CHROME and CRUZIE! My hubby ran into you in the wal mart parking lot. Got a selfie with ya.when he got home and showed me the pic, my brain kinda glitched at what I was seeing 😂
I’ve been taught this about the rain in BC.
It only rains twice a week in BC, once for 3 days and once for 4 days…😂
Lol! Kinda true 😂 but we live in a rain forest so shouldn’t really complain haha
thanks for helping me to meet Disco!! You raise awesome dogs dude! thanks for sharing the joy!
Hey, Chrome. Use the old light string as a pull wire for the new one. Might seem slower but ultimately easier than doing a full, new pull
Every time I hear your engine start, I smile. Thanks for sharing your life. Very much appreciated.

It would have been a wild ride when you woke up with someone taking you for an unplanned trip.
Go fine another alfombra for crusy !!
Woke up to 2 feet of snow and -30 in northern Alberta. I’ll take your mild weather and rain right now😎
It came in like a wreaking ball lol
I'll second that. We only got a foot in Calgary, but its -20 and my toes are cold!
Yuck!
I'm in Ohio and it's been dry and nice today, please keep the cold and snow up north, thanks! We are currently getting the Christmas lights up!
Don’t feel bad dude. I travel like a trucker. I just fly through places and later people are like “Aww you didn’t see _____ while you were there?!!”
As a fellow trucker I can relate. I save the areas in Google maps but we don't have the time to do sightseeing lol
Gotta appreciate the wet weather for keeping our forests green! Plus with all the wildfires each year we need all the help we can get! 🥰
I’ll take the rain over snow any day. Have a great day you two.
I love the sound of the rain hitting the roof !!!! Beautiful sound!
Happy Monday Chrome! Hope you're feeling a bit better today

The constant rain and drear for months out there is what keeps me on the east coast of 🇨🇦...I would much rather the snow 😂
That wind snapped the trees like a twig just glad you and cruz was safe you guys definitely get crazy weather
One of the first things I did when I purchased my cargo van, was to install an alarm with remote start. Thank you for sharing
Nifty idea!
Chrome, take the twists out of your seatbelt!!!! With twists you have no pressure distribution across your upper body if you take an impact. Your injury potential is much higher with twists. Something to consider......🤙🏼
Yeah, I've mentioned the twisted seatbelt before. My description was more like high speed impact and twisted seatbelt can get you cut in half. ☺
Seatbelts are dangerous. If you want real safety using a racing harness.
@ well isn't that just practical in a Van Life scenario......
@ any idea on when Chrome plans on racing is van next? I wanna come watch this......with a big ol' bucket of popcorn.
@yycclimbr is practical in every vehicle that could be in an accident / highway accident or a back country rollover.

The Quay where you were in Port has a wicked summer market once a week. Lots of great handcrafted goodies :)
If the rain brings you down just check out the Alberta weather & you’ll feel good!

Chrome you think about remote start
Unless the broken lights are a fire hazard, just install new ones outside the cupboards. Get them the next time you change the van set up.
The donut shop scene reminds me of the movie called birds
Birds was one scary Alfred Hitchcock movie. I saw it when I was about four years old and we lived in the country with lots of birds and overhead powerlines for them to sit upon. I had nightmares for a long time!

Michael Halleran based his 1988 Vancouver Island flag design on that, and it's believed that the flag was never actually made.

The flag's symbols represent the island's natural resources, history, and trade:
-Beaver: Represents the island's early connection to the Hudson's Bay Company
-Trident of Neptune: Represents the island's oceans, fisheries, and trade
-Caduceus: Represents commerce
-Pine cone: Represents the island's forests and lumber industry
-Union flag: In the canton, represents the British past of the province
