UA-cam has grown to be the largest video-sharing platform in the world by far, and today UA-cam is basically synonymous with Google. However, Google didn't actually create UA-cam; Google actually bought UA-cam for $1.65 billion in 2006. The three founders of UA-cam are Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley, and Steve Chen. So, what happened to the founders of UA-cam? Well, Jawed Karim continued his education after cashing out from UA-cam and created an incubator company called YVentures. Meanwhile, Chad Hurley served as UA-cam's CEO after the acquisition up until 2010. At this point, he also started an incubator company called AVOS systems. Finally, Steve Chen served as CTO of UA-cam after the acquisition before joining Chad at AVOS systems. This video explains what happened to UA-cam's founders and where Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley, and Steve Chen are today.

I almost can't believe how humble these founders are. They literally changed the world.
Now we have a evil women running it
Stevan chen also went a selective public highschool aswell.
It seems like Jawed Karim was the true founder since it stemmed from his idea and he was probably the one coding it at the very beginning. It also shows in his humble academic demeanour and his ventures in helping people after. He doesn't even seem bothered by the fact he got the least amount of money at all. True legend.
For real. It’s like he got stifled but atleast he’s using his blessings to bless more people. It’s funny how he went his own way and the rest kinda stayed in google and Facebook
The thing is, Karim went on to teach the AirBnB guys how to do well and that was huge, then he joined some of the big Paypal guys from back in the day at Palantir and big data has been doing extremely well for them, and so over time, he became just as rich as Steve by using his brain. That is what proves that he was the true entrepreneur and tech mind behind UA-cam. Chad failed over and over again in tech until he became a sports investor but that made him pretty decent money. Steve just went from being the lead code guy at UA-cam to being a lead code guy at Google, nothing amazing from him.

@@planerunner4020 The word Muslim has a different meaning in different parts of the world, even if the sweaty middle eastern clerics try to control the narrative for the last 20 years.
Many western Muslims are very liberal and it's more like an philosophy, closer to Buddhism there rather than a strict dogma, take Dave Chappelle for example, he's Muslim but he also drinks, talks about sex and smokes.
Even in Indonesia, the practices are distinct by region, and let's be honest there are many outdates ideas in the Quran especially if you take everything literally.

Not really there was a platform like youtube before that. What was amazing is how it was made and the constant updates as well as how the community could talk to there users.
UA-cam was not popular because it was created but because google advertised it and brought it to success. With google's influence and connection, youtube started to gain popularity by absorbing the user base that Google built. If youtube had not been bought by Google, Google might've been working with a different platform now and certainly would kill youtube. But regardless, UA-cam was great itself. Just hard to argue if UA-cam was really successful because of those people who created the idea and the foundation.

UA-cam was the best video upload site when they came out. There were only about 3 sites that I could find to upload videos at that time, and the other sites required that you format your video by size and dimensions before uploading it. UA-cam took out that huge middle step and formatted your video for you, which made their uploads way easier than the other sites. I don't remember the other sites names. This was near the beginning of digital cameras, before they were to norm. It would be cool to hear about what they were thinking when they came up with the idea for their site and how they decided to made it how it was. They even gave you a little web account to design and keep your site and videos. They got popular because their product was way better than the others at that time.
I think this is authentic! ❤️
