In this video the black and white acrylic sheets are .26 inches thick, however, the female inlay cut depth is .2 inches. Based on this the male inlay pieces of black and white acrylic will protrude slightly, is this intentional? I know .06 of an inch in reality is not significant, but if there is a specific reason it was done like this I would like to know. Thanks for the videos they are a great help!
Hello John... I would have to say that was a design choice. With the Acrylic even a slight varriation in height adds a lot of precieved dimention to the piece. But than again... it may have just been added to show you can vary the depths if you like... :)
I am using three sheets for a project. they are each only 3" x 7". when I try to save the tool paths, I get an error message saying the project exceeds the maximum area and that I will have to "tile" the project. So, I'm not able to save any of the tool paths. Any idea why it's doing that? (I'm using VCarve Desktop).
Hello... and thanks forthe question. The Desktop Version of VCarve is limited to saving out toolpaths that are no larger then 24" x 24". If the longest dimention of the toolpath exceeds that then that warning will pop up. The software will allow you to cut something larger then that but you will need to tile your toolpaths. Here is some information on that... www.vectric.com/support/tutorials/vcarve-desktop?search=tiling If you find yourself cutting larger projects it might be worth looking into VCarve Pro. Hope that helps.
It sould be located along the left side of your software or along the bottom. If it is not there please contact support@vectric.com and they will be able to help.
