- The famous 'South African Miura SV' is finally being repainted in its original Bleu Miura after many months of careful coachwork repairs in Italy. It had suffered from almost 50 years of Cape Town sea air and a poorly fixed 1970s traffic prang. The original owner is following progress and we hope will be proud of the finished result. Don’t worry, the Playboy sticker is going back on!

And a better than new paint job
Painting cars where my dream, but I vomited 1-2 days a week during my first year of school. I obviously could not become a car painter. But I had soo big dreams, and skills, and l let my creativity run wild on a few beaters. Some of those matte wraps and magno paints are great, but I mixed up stuff like that drop by drop and sprayed it on cheapo cars from the 80s 20 years ago. Played with depth and perception, more or less metallic at strategic places, and just trying anything I thought was new/cool. I was the least creative in that small class (only aviable at two schools in my country), to be fair. That school shop was running like a hot rod factory back then.
Very few tings is more satisfying than painting an entire car and make it perfect with just a few hours of buffing. And these beautiful curvy body's from back then... Well, I like to think I know how hard it is to paint a gorgeus car, but I don't. It's not something you can do without a lot of experience, unless you've started your career on old italians. And even then? Probably not.
The painter in this video has all my respect, it's like a heart surgeon doing an Lamborghini by-pass.
Miura is my love.
