    Gotta have the workhorses! If I want some fancy mic for my artist either I'll bring it myself, because I own it, or I'll just deal with whatever's there. Vocal mics, even just from a hygiene perspective are always a good idea to bring your own.

    They were the best investment we made

    Great video, those are all the mics I would expect to have and those are exactly the ones I ask for on a standard rider. My policy with other engineers is that if you "have to have it" then you already have it cause you bought it. I own my kick in and out mics, my snare mics, my vocal mics, my overheads. Everything else can be a 57 I don't care. You have to have an AE3000 for the under snare? I'm sure you can buy one delivery 24h.

    Great video I am surprised you don’t have any Se v7 mics as lots of people are using them now and they are cheap.

    HAHAHAA KAY !! I bought a ksm8 capsule for the same reason !!(spec’d by the band eng) Used ONCE ! $500... And the headliner didn’t like it, cause there was too much drum bleed in his IEMs from it !! 🙄
    Why don’t you switch pin 2/3 on the measurement mic xlr permanently.
    Missing 414s would make me ill as well... not cheap.
    Thanks ted for the video !

      Thanks Heywood! It's funny, people always borrow the 414s, never fails!

      The xlr inside the measurement mic is a pcb. No way to make it pin 2 hot. I tried....

    Pretty sure you guys have more money in mics/wireless than I have into my whole PA, lol. Nothing super exotic in those drawers but it adds up, quick!

      I didn’t buy it all at once. Just like the Johnny cash song.....one piece at a time

    Reminds me of my school buying a 700$ earthworks podium miced just to be piped what ever god forsaken limiter is on the master in wirecast which is then sent thru zoom. So ultimately it just like shit

    What was that measurement mic with reversed polarity?

    • @michaelkurczeski1373
      @michaelkurczeski1373 3 роки тому

      The Dbx one that is sold at guitar center

    • @lesfilip
      @lesfilip 3 роки тому

      @@michaelkurczeski1373 I thought it looked familiar... Never knew it was internally polarity reversed. But I guess it really shouldn't matter if you're using only one mic.

      @@lesfilip I use it to tune systems and time align. When looking at the impulse response I can see if the polarity is positive or negative and it had me scratching my head a few times before I remember the mic is reversed. At times I’d reverse the polarity on my interface, then a few gigs later forget that I did that, be using a mic that is pin 2 hot and again.....scratching my head going WTF!
