Hey JP, You may not have had time during this very hectic day, but Bill Browder's evidence to the Parliamentary Committee today on sanctions, loopholes and seizing assests was a must watch - especially his rebuttal of the nations that say nay. That guy is so switched on, Starmer's first act as PM should be to appoint him to the Lords and make him the Minister for shafting ruzzia's oligarchs.

I know there's no evidence, at least yet, of it being a false flag, but I definitely wouldn't put it past them, and would be about as surprised as I would be to find sand in the desert.

From what I heard, the contract about Russian gas being transported through Ukraine to Hungary and other countries should be ending in a few months and not being extended b the Ukrainian site. Therefore it might not play a role what Hungary wants to do. They will not receive anymore gas from Russia and therefore they won't be able to resell it either.
Right, Ukraine will not extend the contract past 12.2024. Good so! This I say as a Hungarian. Unfortunately, the Orban regime is still able to source russian gas through a pipeline from Turkey / Bulgaria / Serbia. Let's see how this develops, I expect the US to pressure Turkey to close down Blue Stream/South Stream as well. They might do so by helping Turkey (and Israel) to exploit gas sources in the East Mediterranean.

Way over the top reaction to Blinken having a jam with a local band. The guy lives in an aeroplane flying around the world trying to support peace and democracy. He doesn't make the decisions and is a top diplomat. He also arrived with 2bn dollars. Cut the guy a bit of slack for having a bit of fun. Dances happened in the UK all through WW2. 1) Thank you for your dedication. I have no idea what a post modern jukebox is but I know it is not Portishead. Your commitment is commendable.
2) I am not sure I agree with your statement that the attack on Fecal is an attack on democracy. Fecal's very involvement in politics is an attack on democracy. I tend to believe that the average European is much smarter than the average north american. With the attack comes lots of exposure to his ties with new new Z land. I believe we can both agree he is nothing more than and old time soviet gangster so more exposure of these type of ties is never a bad thing. As a stated earlier gangster's always get met with violence.
3) Aaron Rogers too many shots to the head. Look at that moustache, are you going to trust someone with a moustache like that???
4) Good it is time Rumpelstisken bank is taken down. Again another neutral country so their voice should not be considered.
5) Ritchie Koonak would so take all his ministers to India if given the opportunity. Bad comparison.
6) All this tells me is that China wants to go longer and longer. I am of the opinion that Xi wants to the wants the war to go until 2027 or longer and deplete the resources of the "collective west" making the attack on Taiwan easier. The only thing that could intercept this is the other great dictatorship India going at China for south Tibet. I don't rule this out. Alternatively, we all can do our part and stop buying from China the more this occurs the more the economy shrinks and it is shrinking already.
7) Yes it is important to get support Georgia.

I would check new orders placed after March 2 - not deliveries of orders previously contracted running thru the process.
In addition, JCB's contracts might include contracted volumes and punitive clauses - depending on how the relationships are structured.
A cutoff date is most likely on new orders and not those in the pipeline.

I am no fan of the Taliban
In fact I hate the idea of any government based along a religious doctrine even if it is a relatively civilised one, some thing that the Taliban are defiantly not .
However credit where credit is due and the Taliban have done more good for the country in 3 years than the British , Russians & Americans did in 40 years.
The canal is almost finished, Afghanistan is a net exporter of food the rail line to IRAN is completed and the next stage on to China is due for completing in 5 years .
Human rights are a problem but that is for the Afghanis to sort out and of course opium growing is almost gone .
Girls in schools is good but not much use if 1 in 5 die of malnutrition.
Now if any of the colonial powers actually installed a government that put the people first then perhaps the people would have rejected the Taliban but all of them were just about stealing as much from the country that they could get away with.
