The facts don't match the narrative on Mahomes. Every qb flops and tries to get calls. If ppl actually took the time to look up the numbers they'd realize they're narrative is wrong
The fact that Josh Allen has more Roughing the Passer calls than anyone and flops all the time is proof enough this is just Chiefs fatigue from them kicking your teams ass. 😂

31 other QBs get hit, we saw Allen, Lamar, Stroud, Goff get hit on the helmet, and nothing. Mahomes fakes running out the sidelines, if you dont hit him he cuts inside and continues running, if you hit him its a flag. If you touch his helmet its a flag. If you tackle your own player above his head, its a flag. Once you cross the line of scrimmage, you're a runner, end of. Prepare to get hit. If you dont want to get hit, go down. Someone needs to take one for everyone, and just smash into him. Maybe next time he wont try going down super late... also, embellishment (faking it, flopping) could be a penalty. That flop needs to be 10-15 yards, and the players will stop doing it. You're already throwing flags for inches of false starts, illegal formations, illegal shifts, illegal motions, and ineligible man downfield plays anyways, why not penalize faking/flopping too?
The one difference is josh allen tries to run through u but does embellish the flops... rtp aside that one was better than the unnecessary roughness one hes not protected like a qb when hes a runner ... the refs give him the best of both worlds but hey whatever

Easy & simple fix to this. 1. Impliment replay assist for all penalties over 15 yards (maybe 10yds), if the TV broadcasts can do it without disrupting play then the Refs should be able to as well. 2. Add a penalty for flopping, this is Football, not Basketball or Soccer, if we let a culture of flopping pervade the League the game will be worse for it, especially with how injuries serious real injuries can be. I doubt you'd ever even need to call this, just having it on the books would convince players not to do it. Also, while I know we're trying to keep players safe, but it really feels like the Defense has to handle everybody with kids gloves these days & its just not fun to watch, I don't want anyone to get hurt but I'd like it if the League actually allowed Defenses to play the game again.
Mahomes holds the record for roughing the passer penalties in the playoffs after only 20 games. People thought Brady got calls, he played 48 games and didn’t get as many calls. Mahomes gets the calls when it matters most, yet chiefs fans only bring up regular season lol
Share those stats because Josh Allen has the most roughing calls by far. Maybe not in the playoffs, because he doesn’t have near as many games, but he gets the most calls by far. The stats don’t bare out your claims.
Except they didn’t call nearly as many roughing calls in the past because the rules were different. Also Brady got some HORRENDOUS roughing the passer calls late in his career. One of them was against Mahomes in 2018 when he got hit on the shoulder, and it likely changed the result of the game.
Maybe he holds the record because 1. They have made are concerned effort to protect the quarterback over the last 10-15 years 2. Mahomes has been in the most playoff games in the last 10-15 years 3. You're an idiot
Over the last 4 Chiefs postseasons, the chiefs had less penalties then their opponents in all 11 games except for one that was a tie. And check this out, last 4 chiefs postseasons: 7 roughing the passer on opponent, 1 on KC; 4 unnecessary roughness on opponent, 2 on KC; 11 DPI on opponent, 2 on KC. Those are all game changing calls. Not to mention we all have two eyes and can see the BS take place every Chiefs playoff game. They really aren't that good, sorry.

The Texans played a bad game and had the gall to blame the refs instead of taking any sort of accountability. Winners win and losers make excuses. Maybe score more than twelve points next time and then we can talk.
People really have no clue even players don’t know the rules. It is illegal to hit players with the crown of their helmets outside the tackle box. Players can not hit the qb in the helmet in the pocket. Usage of the helmet as a weapon is prohibited. You are blind if no one sees the Texan players lowering their helmet to try to hit mahomes in his helmet with theirs.
Get real people. It's a game in the entertainment business. If Mahomie uses his acting ability to manipulate the refs opionion, so what? Some of you act like they all play to win. They are just high paid actors. In my opinion.
Maybe if the Texans didnt already have a history of that type of hit it wouldnt have been watched for as much. Not to mention, he is hit on both sides of his head by the two defenders' arms. Also, if you are going for a clean hit, you don't lead with the crown of your helmet.

Not the team. The league. They want the Chiefs to go as far as they can get them. Mahomes is their golden child plus the viewership is likely higher when Taylor Swift is prancing around the owner's suite. Bills have a tough battle on their hands.
What made football great was that any given Sunday anything could happen. Now especially with the betting being legal the games feel fake, and seeing a team benefit from the refs is just gross

The top thread on this comment section rn as I read it is calling for players to send Mahomes into the concussion protocol and deliver a dirty hit, that’s how bad Chiefs derangement syndrome is. The internet was an absolute mistake for humanity
If Patrick is going to take advantage of player safety rules and flail like that, defensive players need to show the refs what it looks like to actually lay him tf out.
You people who say this are telling everyone you don't watch NFL regularly or for long. You'd remember the 49ners trying to take him out along the sideline with a hard hit. Mahomes got up and said, "Good hit!" The "hit man" had to be helped off. So, you're a troll or not really a NFL fan.
No one mentions Brady? In the AFC Championship game years ago he got the tuck rule, and in a different championship game the Chiefs got a roughing the passer when a lineman, mtouched his shoulder pad . Where was the outrage then ?
not even a saints fan but saints got robbed a superbowl from the rams in the playoffs because of the refs. Super obvious I'm sure that isn't the only time.
So everybody is upset that pat is taking advantage of the rules, but everyone calls Brady the greatest qb of all time when they invented rules for him. "tuck rule". They didnt flag anybody on that late hit drawl everybody keeps showing. Sometimes the call goes your way just like every call that goes for the offense. Which happens for every team in the NFL. Its not the chiefs its an NFL problem. Offensive bias its been that way for years.
Once you get hit by unfair calls you feel demoralized. You can’t tell me that a demoralized player is going to continue to play at the same level, not to mention, they may back off because they’re getting called on stuff that shouldn’t be called in the first place. That kind of thing has a larger impact on games than you’d like to admit.
What i hate is that now it is a problem. No one one was jumping up saying anything when Brady on how he was using the rules. Oh lets look at Rodgers career at Green Bay basically the falling princess who got almost every flag going their way. No one saw in that game where Mahomes was looking for a flag on that second roughing the passer call. The refs just called what they saw just like they always do. If you want to look at people getting pass the rules. Look at how receivers sometimes hold the defenders head into their chest to get a pass interference call easy. Don't try and make it all about Mahomes because they call the penalties. You can blame the refs but they have been running the games for years. Want better proof just look at how Cam Newton goes so little roughing the passer calls for a guy who always got hit in the head a lot when he was in the league. I will say this last thing is people complain now but think if Mahomes had got a concussion that had to make him retire from any hits to his head. Then people would be bored because they have no one to watch. The chiefs fans would be mad at the Texans and at the NFL and at the refs.
There were 2 roughing calls in the chiefs ravens game last year. Pat got clotheslined to the face and also clowney hit his chin with the crown of his helmet on the other one. This Texans game was bad, but please, go back and look at all his playoff roughing calls. They were correct by definition
Refs didn't cause the loss. Refs make terrible calls in every game I've watched. Flops are ugly. It's not lebron level yet. Refs didn't sack the qb 8 times. Refs didn't score only 1 TD. Refs didn't miss field goals.
those 2 that I saw.. yeah.. soft roughing the passer.. but helmet to helmet contact even soft is not tolerated.. and both were helmet to helmet hits... and the NFL has always protected some QB's better than others.. I know a few running QB's had to get on from refs about quick whistles because they were able to break tackle attempts but because of a quick forward progress whistle.. killed their play... history.. but helmet to helmet... you do it you'll draw a flag.
Dude thank you. Every. Single. Talking head has said there wasn't even helmet to helmet contact. It's ridiculous how far people go to cope with their hatred of the Chiefs.

I felt like that last year with Josh Allen RTP penalty against Steelers. That he is using full advantage of the rules mostly about slide that one .. but out of the bounds as you can se with Mahomes. And my point is if the rules will stay as they are we will see more QBies getting hurt.. League needs to adress this and it hopefully wont be to the degree that they will go full haywire on rules and go more punishments for the hits. But will show clearly Yo You need to think about your health too aint responsibility of a defensive player not to hurt ofensive player/QB.
Ill say this to the people who laugh at those pointing all this out, if the style of football mahomes plays is really what you think the "best" is, then football is five years away from being as boring as the MLB got
The rulebook says if there is contact to the helmet it's a penalty... there was contact and they called it in real time. I don't get the outrage. Tacklers are literally taught NOT to tackle crown of helmet first... it's head up and tackle through. Each penalty happened because the tackler had poor discipline.
@ You can literally see his head move lol. I'll give you that it wasn't hard contact but there was very very clearly contact. And again, that doesn't change that they went crown first to tackle which is ALSO illegal. Watch the Chiefs sacks... All head up and mid section so there's not even a chance it's a penalty.
You can truly tell who's played football and understands the game and who hasn't in these comments lol. If you think the calls were justified just because they tapped his helmet, please go get some sun.
There is no scenario where the rules committee would come out publically and say that the refs were incorrect with those calls. Pretty suspicious that they have to make a “public” statement about the refs being correct. The rules committee probably shouldn’t have said anything we all already know
You all realize Mahomes had Brady beat in the AFC championship but a BS flag overturned Bradys interception? Get over it losers. And they say Chiefs fans are the worst. 😂yall insufferable

Even if the refs aren’t blatantly helping the chiefs, their incompetence inadvertently is. Roughing the passer’s threshold has been garbage for years now, and it makes the game almost unwatchable
I am from KC. I think the first one was a penalty because Mahomes did get hit in the head. The 2nd one, Mahomes is hit in the head more so with the backside defenders forearm, but it was mostly due to the late slide, so I would have been fine with a no-call. That play was on first down though, so it would have been 2nd and 6. I don't think those two calls are the reason the Texnas lost the game. They lost because they gave up 8 sacks, scored 12 points on offense, and missed 3 kicks. Oh, and I hated the flop. Though Mahomes isn't the only QB to do it...I hated he did and hope he never does it again.

KC VS LAC, it wasn't the longest play, but the 2nd longest play was a defensive holding penalty
KC Vs BUF, Longest play defensive pass interference, 15 yard penalty.
2023: KC VS NYJ , there were 2 penalties, defensive holding and an illegal contact. Combined, the cheifs didn't have a play longer than 4 yards on that drive, and 2 1st downs given due to penalties.
The super bowl against the Eagles, there was a defensive holding penalty on a 3rd an 8 which led to to an automatic first down. Not the longest play, but it was a dramatic call at a pivitol stage in the game.

Some of these qb protection rules were put in place because of Brady. Mahomes has mastered how to exploit those rules. The rules are good but any attempt to exploit the rule should be an unsportsmanlike penalty. I hope they look into this during the offseason.
