Jessica is actually a decent driver, the first half off the video she clearly demonstrates that she knows how to drive. However, her issue is that she gets flustered and after the manoeuvre she lost confidence and it all fell apart. However, she is driving a car she is unfamiliar with in an area she doesn't know, which is challenging even for an experienced driver.
and especially gas and diesel have a vastly different behavior in terms of clutch. my car needs wayy more throttle to get going than a diesel, thats just the nature of a low displacement low hp gas engine.
I've been driving for nearly 20 years. Just three weeks ago I had to drive a corporate hire car in an unfamiliar town with absolutely rotten road layout, even with sat-nav it was a bloody nightmare, the traffic was diabolical and more than once I was frozen out of the lane I wanted or ended up going the wrong way and having to turn back because the junction layouts made zero sense. Awful. Won't name the town in question but it was neither very walkable or easily drivable, in other words a total bloody mess of a place.
That Audi like 👀👀👀👀 as soon as she almost slips back into their car 🤣 (13:49) (They were def too close but they were trying to squeeze in behind her so the white car could pass them both)
I think Jessica was very nervous, hopefully she will pass her test, train was late, too much was going on,can't do these test with all type emotions.Good luck 🎉
looks like her clutch problems may be related to putting her right heel on the floor when using the clutch. I find that because of the range of motion you need to operate the clutch, the heel must be floating above the floor
My wife quite often rides the clutch, uses it as a foot rest. I'm glad it's a company car (two clutches in two years!!) I think the fact she really over revs at set off burns them out. Sometimes you can smell the heat, if you know what I mean
@@lordadz1615 to be honest I did try to talk her into an auto but she hates them. The company she works for don't seem to mind replacing the clutches so she keeps treating the car poorly! She's quite cruel to the car
Hello from Croatia. Finally got my test date, the 10th of December. The test is simmalar to the rules of the Irish driving test for refrence, thank you for these videos it really helped me during my journey! ❤
9:45 - 12:35 is why parking facing oncoming traffic should be illegal (and is here in Australia - if any of you visit here, don't do that or it could result in a big fine). Whole video - driving in a puffer jacket should also be illegal too (anyone else feel claustrophobia from it? Probably just me)
I almost had an accident this week, when I was at a junction looking to turn right, and a car coming from my right hand the indicators on to turn left but instead went straight on, nearly took the whole front of my car away.
That smell of burnt clutch is horrendous, I managed to burn the clutch out on my old Golf within 6 months of passing my test which was an expensive error on my part (I now drive an automatic!)
One day we'll all be in EVs which don't have transmission or clutches, functionally they are the same as an Automatic. Just stick it in D and off you go. This rite of passage will be a thing of the past.
@@Bruno-gp4mt probably because there's some truth in the insurance company methods. The better drivers will go for the full licence. Those who struggle will go for automatic only.
12:45 At these sorts of junctions isn't it actually advised to go further forward to do offside to offside, unless markings suggest otherwise? (She may be exactly in the middle preventing nearside or offside turning though which obviously is a problem).
thank you so much, Sophia! it was a mix of nervousness and never having used an electronic handbrake - it freaked me out! and the accent is quite American but I'm from Brazil 🥰❤️
@@nacnayaji understand you so well, especially as a learner but even when you are experienced, its sometimes difficult to adapt to a new car especially when you are under preassure. the driving test will be done in a car you are familiar anyways, i recommend shoes with soles that arent too thick (i.e. not winter boots), so you can feel the pedals better, good luck! especially the fear when rolling back i can relate to, i had that initially aswell, my car after driving school doesnt have any driver aids apart from abs, so no hill hold assist, and manual ebrake. once you are used to it and the car its no problem anymore.
not gonna lie if it was me that burned the clutch i would cry, gearbox repairs are very expensive as you basically have to dismember the entire driveshaft to get to it.
its not THAT bad. i had it done some years back to my car, which was 17 by that time, didnt cost wildly much. in my dads car the clutch is about to go, but its rwd and changing the clutch is easier because of this.
My mum's old Toyota needed the clutch doing, funnily enough after I used it for learning. It didn't fail suddenly but it felt weird so she took it in. Main dealer genuine parts and labour was around £600. I don't know how much it would have cost elsewhere, but she's not car minded enough to just use Steve's Autos round the back of Aldi.
Blud took "wear and tear" to the next level 💀
It’s not wear and tear at that point
"Wear and tear until it's done"
the pullup on the left was so funny hahah, wishing her all the best for the future. must've been flustering going straight into the test as well
I had to intervene...
he *had* to intervene .... are you dumb (joke btw)
lmao

hate to break it to you, but there will be plenty of situations where you will almost avoid an accident.
Never trust a car's indicators, always look at their speed and positioning.
@@TaxingIsThieving it was definitely a lesson learned, they didn't teach me that on my lessons 😅
4:41 really? the right wheel just barely went over the right side of the road
Harsh that one
She seems nice :) just a bit of anxiety and unfamiliarity with navigating tight meeting situations
she's losing control on the clutch because she had her heels on the floor
i thought she farted in the car judging by video header

23:10 I heard this tone in every video, is that the sound when your car turns off after a while?
First time seeing your hand move so much like if you were so frightened she would have hit the car
One day we'll all be in EVs which don't have transmission or clutches, functionally they are the same as an Automatic. Just stick it in D and off you go. This rite of passage will be a thing of the past.
That's why I was planning on doing automatic only, but you pay a higher insurance because they assume you couldn't pass a manual test.
Except the pass rate on automatic is worse than on manual.

alligator wheel protectors are worth every penny

She needs a few more lessons but not too bad. She is doing manual which is respectful. Also judging trom her accent is she american?
