One last thing I forgot to mention is that all of the heavy attacks on the sword have a 10% increased crit chance. I don't think I need to elaborate on that any further.
When this video first dropped, I read the thumbnail and ignored the video so that I could try 1h sword shade for myself before commenting. Having now come back to watch this, I’ve got to commend you for remembering that this weapon exists. I run a different set of properties and traits but this build is pretty fun. I still enjoy dual daggers but it’s nice to diversify my shade gameplay. Thanks for the VT2 content as always. Hope you’re enjoying the recent update!
I love the 1h sword. Unlike sword and dagger, it's first charged attack is an overhead swing, making charged headsets much more consistent and controllable. While dual daggers do also have first charge overhead attack, and faster charge, it's horde control takes a lot more effort. I swap between them on shade very often.
A friend send me this video on Discord a few days ago. Been playing Shade with it ever since. Saw you on my recommended, so might as well thank you for your tips xD
I was using sword and dagger for shade, but when i tried 1h sword it turned out to be a better weapon against hordes(push attack is especially good), while still performing fine vs elites and monsters. So yeah, for me 1h sword on shade is the way to go.
Interesting. I love running the 20% speed talent with 15% more from the ult. If you put 5% from trinket, you're literal speed demon, feels like speed pot or even faster. You don't even need to dodge, you outrun every mob and avoid all attacks.
That sounds like an interesting build for a True Solo attempt, but I don't think it would work well with a team as you wanna stick together as much as you can on higher difficulties anyway.
Don't worry, I'm still planning to finish the series. I just need to recover from my burnout after making the Slayer guide, so I'll probably start working on them a bit after Darktide releases.
Nice video and nice build. Looks fun and would never have considered it otherwise. PS. Happen to know how slayer pick axe push stab works? Getting some extra dmg out of nowhere on the dummies at 3 targets
War pick has one of the strongest push attacks in the game iirc. That paired with a decent crit multiplier and you can drop big damage numbers. Not as big as a heavy but impressive given how fast the push attack is relative to war pick’s other attacks. Do keep in mind that the push attack is intended for single target though (it has like no cleave).
I am leveling up the elf up and on Handmaiden I just got the skill that lets you dodge through enemies. I am trying it with 1 handed sword to basically be impossible to stop from moving. Not sure if it's good yet. Thoughts?
I've tried using it on Handmaiden but I feel like with all the attack speed bonuses that she gets her other weapons are just way better. Greatsword, glaive, spear and shield and the dual daggers are my go-to for her at the moment, but it's all down to preference of course.
Yep 1 H. Sword is the other good option for shade in my opinion now, all other weapons seems not really good. Even if you use cloak of pain 1h sword is better than sword and dagger because sword and dagger is really bugged in the first heavy atack and it did not make the second infiltrate. So you have to miss the first heavy and land the second heavy with sword and dagger and thats souns good until you are full of enemies around. Not a good option in real combat situations Cloak of pain: Dual dagger; then 1 H sword Shimmer strike: 1 h sword; then dual daggers (i find axe too slow to work for shade unlike handmaiden you dont got buffs to atack speed when you dodge) Hungry wind: Maybe sword and dagger is the better here. I dont think is a good talent for shade but if you go with that to use the Hagbane bow maybe dual daggers is not the best option, maybe here axe could work, on the other hand i try glaive here and was a bad weapon for shade since it got trash dodge for kerillian standars
My life as a shade is sooooo much easier with a 1h sword. I'm not the greatest of players and get hit easily enough. So standing so close to the frontline with two daggers means means I die a lot due to random hits from lil pink dudes.
I feel you. It's extremely punishing to learn how to use dual daggers in pubs due to how limiting they are in playstyle. If you wanna try them out again at some point know that pushing is your best friend and dodging is your spouse. Anyway, glad I could help!

If only my team stop speed running, I would enjoy shade. Friends to play with... the myth of VT2.
I love the swords unlimited dodge, makes it great for squishy waystalker. And the animations are great.
absolutely sick, I'm glad people (4.5 years into the game) are waking up to the 1h sword
But who would ever get tired listening to your lovely accent?
Thanks for this video. It's short, yet contains all important information :D
I started using the 1h sword on handmaiden and she destroys. Another great and under utilized 1hander is Kerillians hand axe. So good.

Btw, ty for the ranald's gift link
No worries

@@XrayWasTaken Works fine on legend, haven't tested on cata.
I love this build.
still silently waiting for engi and ironbreaker guide

I hear that barony ost in the background it can’t hide from me
Looks like it have same combo set like axe from darktide right?
Good vid. But depressing top left graphic at 3:35...
Hey, at least you gave me a good clip
happens to the best of us

Thanks for the kind words. As for the War Pick thing, it's probably because of Trophy Hunter stacks. Otherwise, I don't know.

What difficulty is this based in for break points? Cata or higher
Cataclysm, forgot to mention that in the video apparently. I pretty much don't play legend ever.
Thx
Nice build that doesnt use the overused S&D or Dual Daggers.
